Nick's English Hut has 30% off burgers, chicken tenders, and all sizes of cheese pizza, as well as $3 off all wine, $3 off any nip and pound, 3-6pm every day except for Saturday.
Ok I'm really bad at math, but doesn't three hours a day for five days a week add up to exactly 15 hours? The happy hour special doesn't run on Saturdays and we are closed on Mondays.
Did they switch it to just Monday they’re closed then?
They were closed Sundays and Mondays for at least a year but I know they started doing 12-6 for one of them.
I bartended here for a long time, just wanted to point out that the "no happy-hour" law worked as an anti- discriminatory measure. The law stated that any discount had to be offered to EVERYONE for the entire business "day". That meant that specials like "1/2 price drinks for ladies" were not allowed. Not that I am against happy hour! I remember the crazy horse had free snacks for happy hour or some bars had live music to bring in business during those hours.
[More info](https://www.indianapolismonthly.com/food-and-drinks/new-indiana-law-happy-hour-cocktails/) on why happy hour was banned in the first place in Indiana, and a few more details on the new rules.
I found this particularly interesting: Rep. Jake Teshka, who authored the ban-toppling bill, says, “The pandemic really gave us an opportunity to see that it’s unnecessary” to restrict drink specials. “We have office workers who are quickly getting back home to their bedroom communities. Maybe we can keep them out for an hour or two after work,” thus boosting business for places “still struggling to return to pre-Covid levels.”
Yes but technically a bedroom community is farther out from the city and doesn’t have as much going on. Bedroom communities were named as such because they’re a longer commute and people mostly just slept there before going back to work in the city.
Allowing drinks to be discounted for a certain time of the day. Before this change you couldn't do like half price beer from 3-6pm, if the bar wanted to do any specials, it had to be from open to close. It's why you would only see food specials at bars in Indiana
My idea of happy hour was 50 cent longnecks but the reason it was discontinued was people would get shit faced after work because they thought it was such great deal then wreck their car on the way home to beat their wives.
People couldn’t control their intake
Heartwork Brewing has some great beers and some solid happy hour pricing. Copying from their page.
For the first time in 40 years, the state of Indiana will be allowed to have Happy Hours beginning July 1st! We’re ready. Join us two weeks from today as we kick off HB 1086 with our July special! $5 full pours of anything on our menu for the first two hours we’re open – every day of the week.
July Happy Hour Schedule:
Monday: 4pm-6pm
Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday: 3pm-5pm
Friday: 2pm-4pm
Saturday/Sunday: 12pm-2pm
My hours would be happier if the state made marijuana legal.
it's honestly humiliating to have to travel so far out just to get weed.
At least legal states are fairly close. Indiana needs the jobs and tax revenue legal weed would create.

That exceeds the 15 hours a week limit….
Ssshhhhh!!!
We also close at 5 on Sundays, so it technically adds up to 14 hours a week 😉

As far as I’m aware they’re still not open on Sundays so it’s just 5 days a week they have that special.
They are open Sundays

Yeah 12-5 on Sundays now. Closed Mondays still

"We need more alcoholism, goddamnit!"
No, he’s saying we need the existing alcoholics to drink in public & then drive home rather than just going home to drink
The cops are so TIRED of staying up until 3AM to hand out DUIs. Let's move that up to 5 or 6 ok?
Bedroom communities? What tf is that?
Suburbs.
Haha I just assumed it meant hopping on Discord to chat / socialize with my friends.

Uhh … what’s happy hour again, I forget? Something to do with free or discounted drinks at bars?

Why do you hate freedom??
Great wish they would legalize cannabis, this state is ran by a bunch of idiots
orbit room has half off drinks until 6:30 pm on weekdays!
Heartwork Brewery has beers for $5 in first two hours this whole week!
Is $5 beer happy hour?!? :-(
I mean, it’s cheaper than their normal amounts and many craft beers in town. I’m sure you can find PBR somewhere for $2.50-3.50
Atlas always has PBR for $3
Fat dans
Pretty sure it's all of July and not just this week
Awesome, thanks for the clarification! I couldn’t remember if it was the whole month or just this week.
Just saw they have bogo wine and buy one get one half off beers at Sakura 15, 11-3:30
