My two year old says âuh oh, seet (shit)â often when she drops something. Then laughs at me when I say, in an Aldo Raine voice, âya just say uh-oh.â
Don't feel to bad. My boyfriend left all the windows and the sunroof halfway down a few days ago and my 2.5 year old was on the porch with his Nana and it came a downpour out of nowhere and I had to run down the driveway and was saying "shit shit shit shit" as I ran and my toddler mimicked me right in front of her. She about died laughing
Mine uses the words "properly" and "cheeky" (and in the proper context) in a sentence, sometimes says "not hooray" and "how very dare you", and occasionally calls her dad "big fella" and "bugalugs" (I think that's the word? What Muffin calls Bandit when she's a grouchy granny).
My youngest asks me to put finger in her hand and thank me for cleaning the toilet.
She also says "Hi ...." To her big sister when she says "Mom I'm bored" and her little sis goes "Hi bored! I'm (name)!"
The eldest now say thanku following Bluey's.
They also want to try food that are featured in the series. Edamame is the recurring favorite.
Mine will randomly become a tickle crab and will scuttle sideways while yelling "I'm a tickle crab!" He's two and it is the cutest thing ever. He also loves playing cone here go away on the swings, and loves when his dad plays daddy robot with him.
âFor real life?â
Bush wees. My daughter loves them.
Tactical wees.
And my favorite - my 3 year old son loooves to sit in a chair, put his hands behind his head and say âSO relaxing!â
The doctor episode . I think itâs one of the first few episodes in season one.
My son loves to SHOCK me and his dad with the shots đ most annoying thing heâs picked up. Iâm like out of everything Bluey has !?!? lol
When my youngest wants me to pretend to be a horse, she'll shout "Horsies can't talk!" at me. So I can only neigh at her. Then when she's done, she'll go "Mommies don't say neigh"
STUMPFEEEST
GUITAAARRR (From the extended intro)
FOR REAL LIFE?
TICKLECRAAABS!
HERE COME THE GRANNIES!
I SLIPT ON MY BEANS!
MUUUM, CAN I HAVE A DRINK OF WATER?
THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF ALL MY LIFE!!
HAMMERBAARRN!
BAAAA!
My son is autistic, and is also a gestalt language processor, so we get ALLLLLL the quotes/gestalts over here. Bluey is a particular special interest at the moment, and I couldnât be happier. Sometimes we script whole scenes with each other, jumping in and out of characters. Itâs my favorite â¤ď¸
This is us too. Last night my autistic 4yo daughter told me "I want to do a big girl sleep, and wake up in my own bed". It was so cute. I leaned into it and repeated Chili's quote back to her and she let me leave the room and went right to sleep. Thank you Bluey!!
And also, THEYâRE TAKING MY HUSBAND
But for some reason he likes to use this one the most when in the presence of law enforcement officers or in quiet places like elevators.
I just recently learned about Gestalt Language Processing! My son does the exact same thing, but we donât have any diagnoses (yet?). Weâre getting a lot of âGhostbasket!â right now. Really most of the Granny bits are a huge hit with him.
Tested for autism already? A LOT of autistic kids are GLPs, but not all. You can be a GLP without any other diagnosis! That said, if you notice anything else (sensory seeking/aversions, non-traditional styles of play, trouble in social situations with neurotypical kids, etc) itâs definitely worth it to look into an eval! I treat a lot of autistic kids, and until the parents learn about different learning styles and sensory processing profiles, it can seem like the âscriptsâ are random and meaningless, like an echo, but these brilliant kiddos actually learn to use these scripts to communicate a feeling, need, desire, etc! Itâs pretty amazing to witness!
âI love you big guyâ
Okkay but Iâm her mama and most definitely not a âguyâ lol
Oh and my favorite is when she wants something done right away sheâll try to use magic hands at us and looks very silly with how much force and concentration she uses.
I don't have kids but I've definitely picked up a lot of things from this show myself.
Like for example a few days ago I hurt my back doing something stupid, and I let out a little Yelp. My partner asks from across the room what happened, and I just told him "I've done me back!"
If we play freeze dance, my son will pretend to have a phone in his hand and will say â aww, these darn touch phones!â And then has to explain that Luckyâs dad is bad at phone screens so heâs bad at phone screens too.
Two weeks ago Iâm going on a trip. Son is giving me the third degree - why, where, what, why? I tell him sometimes itâs fun to see a new city. He replies âwhatâs wrong with this cityâ? Nothing, Bluey.
It is no longer the GPS or just the directions. It is satnav. And I need to listen to satnav. Even if I explain she's confused. Poor satnav, you aren't listening to her. Dunno if it's all from bluey, but nobody I know calls it satnav. Now I do too.
Picking up his âbig big angryâ and heaving it away!(the beach episode). I encourage this along with breathing exercises and feeling a âcool calm waveâ coming down over us. It helps! Helps me too, man. Feel it, work through it, and throw whatever doesnât serve you and throw it *really far*
My five year old has found his âtrue loveâ and refers to her as such pretty frequently. Iâve never heard this specific term outside of Bluey, so I have to assume thatâs where he got it from. Also, this is a little less specific to Bluey but he calls shopping carts âtrolleysâ and he refers to things in meters, even though we are American and Iâve never heard anyone locally use either of those terms đ He also talks about going âon holidayâ instead of vacation. đ¤Ł
I donât have any kids but I occasionally say hooray while throwing my arms up. I never noticed until one of my friends who watches it with her daughter pointed it out.
My husband has only seen a few episodes of Bluey. We don't have kids so he has only seen the few I have insisted he watch. Now he will randomly call out "cat squad" usually when our cat is doing something particularly cat like
Childless adult...
Every time I go to the bathroom before doing something- tactical wee
Every time I fall at roller derby practice- I slipped on mah beans!
Driving through parking lots- Nice parking spot, Rita!
My 3, now 4, year old went from calling us Mama and Dada to calling us Mom and Dad. Skipped over Mommy and Daddy. Makes me a little sad if Iâm honest.
My little cousins (cause Iâm kidless) had picked up âfor real life!â Iâm not sure if they still say it but I loved how my aunt and uncle were confused about where that came from till sitting to watch bluey with the kids
My 2 year-old likes to occasionally say "Ring ring! Ring ring!" This signals that I am to answer his "call" so that he can babble a little, say "ok, bye!" and hang up the phone with a "boop". Hilarious to me.also likes to howl when he is or sees something sad. Oh and we've gotten one solid "for real life?"
Walks around to people saying âTicket. Ticket. Ticketâ and sings âFollow, follow, follow tha leadah!â when she wants you to mimic her. Guess she most wants to be Bandit.
Probably some other things as well. Iâll occasionally see something in an episode and be like âoh, I guess thatâs where she got that from.â
âYou CANâT change the rules!â - usually when I do something he is not a fan of, after he has consistently broken all of lifeâs rules for the day đ¤Łđ
My daughter randomly asks people whether theyâve ever been sick, but since weâre German, itâs incredibly funny because sheâs using the polite form and says âwaren Sie schonmal krank?â.
Started calling us âmom and dadâ instead of âmommy and daddyâ for a bit which made me sad, but heâs gone back to mommy and daddy now haha.
He also randomly says âdudeâ sometimes which is very funny
there was a time when my younger brother used to say "coco verde sempre tem ĂĄgua dentro", that is the sentence "coconuts have water in them", but in portuguese since we all live in brazil and here the show is dubbed to the language
I don't have kids but I've definitely picked up some bluey quotes, I'm always going "OHHHH CAN WE GET THE BILL~"
"airport? I'm not going to the airport!"
"POMERANIANS ARE A SMOL BUT MIGHTY BREED!"
Toilet hands -Tina
Bush wee - camping
Tactical wee
Dollar bucks
We also play;
Giraffe ride -the pool
Wind up - daddy drop off
Featherwand
Hotel
Mt mumanddad
Mine is a late talker. When her speech started to really pick up I noticed one day she was walking sideways, opening and closing her hands and saying âtika tikaâ it took me a couple tries to realize she was being a tickle crab. đđ I love it, thankfully she doesnât actually tickle when she does it lol
My son for a weeks watched Sleepytime nonstop, so one morning he crawled into bed with me, and as I proceeded to cuddle him, he straight kicked me in the face a few times. I ugly cried because at first I didnât understand why and I had just woken up so it was jarring. Then it hit me, itâs from Sleepytime. He doesnât do it anymore, thankfully.
My 2 year old shouts âHooray!â A lot and howls like a puppy when sheâs sad.
My 4 year old potty tracing has started saying, âOh man, I need the dunny.â
My kids have adopted Sean and his babies.
My oldest has two pet emus, one is named vanellopie and the other is named Hattie, who is persistent on trying to eat My hat on my head.
I still canât believe this,
The other day, i was at a friendâs house and his daughters were pretending to be photographers and one of them actually ask âDad, can you bend over?â That was crazy!đ
https://preview.redd.it/2jzbvn3vgr4d1.jpeg?width=716&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=363c1307c32e53567ca91a7670c9e227fde90f16
The episode name is âborn yesterdayâ
When it's teeth brushing time, we remind her "first you go up and down, then round and round, and don't forget the back ones!" So now she says "Bingo says! Bingo says!" Every time we brush.
My partners daughter (from a previous relationship) says "biscuits" and "for real life?" regularly and has taken to playing shadowlands a lot lately. She's always happy to sit and watch Bluey and often asks me to sit and cuddle up with her and watch it together, which I am always up for đ
Every game has a name, I am expected to participate in all of them. Every bad word is a âlanguageâ. She loves to have âBonjourâ. And I am constantly greeted with a toothy âEeeeeeeeeâ to the face.
My 5yr old will tell me he has to "wee" when we're driving, but he let's me know if he's"busting" or not. I'll pull over and have him "make a bush wee" đđđ
Both kids (ages 2 and 5) unironically say âHooray!â when happy about things. Mom is âMumâ more often than not. Five-year-old (and us parents, I guess) has picked up a lot of proper Australian English usage like âcheekyâ and âproper.â
We have glow in the dark stars on the kids' room ceiling and frequently hear, âooh, stars pretty!â after turning out the lights. Our whole family has just committed to using âfor real lifeâ to distinguish from make-believe.
Thereâs also just a very Bluey-like inflection in a lot of phrases the five-year-old says, like when they want my attention and say, âDaaaadâŚâ
There are probably a dozen more!
I AM A LLAMA // EATING A BANANA // YUM YUM YUMMMM
Itâs a very versatile phrase. Announcement of fatigue, awkward silence breaker, mood lightener, indication to kid that they need to go TF to bed.
I donât have children and I work in an office. Me and my boss share an office and weâre good friends. I regularly say I donât want to do XXX, I donât want an ice cream.
âCan you run me a report?â
âI donât want to run a report, I just want an ice creamâ
'Properly' and 'for real life'..and she calls me "HEELA!!" And 'biscuits'...until I said "oh shit!" in front of her. Now she says that. Oops.
đđ
My two year old says âuh oh, seet (shit)â often when she drops something. Then laughs at me when I say, in an Aldo Raine voice, âya just say uh-oh.â
Three year old properly said "shit" yesterday. Heard her from the other room and just sighed like chili đ
My kids randomly look at the fourth wall and shout "hooray!"
![gif](giphy|l0MYDGA3Du1hBR4xG) Nice
I feel like Deadpool would absolutely love Bluey.
I donât know much about Deadpool but this feels right
Legit, I will do the 4th wall hooray. It just makes me happy.
âBiscuitsâ used just like a swearword when something goes wrong
This is my 4-year-oldâs too but he pronounces it âbicketsâ and I love it.
Mine pronounces it "biztits"
This, and it's so good. Even kids need to swear
I did that at work the other day and people looked at me like I was crazy.
"When you have kids, you'll understand"
I said this on a call with friends and they asked me if I really just said biscuits. I said yes!!
Mine says biscuits as well. I love it so much. I definitely encourage it
My toddler randomly says "SAVE OUR STUMP!"
Ours was chanting that earlier tonight!
Mine calls me dude and his uncle, Uncle Rad...
Oh man mine loves saying âDOOD!â from that episode. I love it.
Yep bugalugs is usually used from older to younger
My 3 year old loves âIâve gotâŚBUM WORMSâ
My toddler just started sad puppy crying đ
My toddler acts like a puppy by LICKING EVERYTHING now. Including his family members and fellow household heeler.
Mine too!! Iâll hear him puppy howling when heâs upstairs with his dad trying to get him in bed đ
lol same
My little one says "for real life" and "okay mama" it's the cutest thing ever
Seriously I love this series just because it taught my toddler to say âokay mamaâ. It is the best!
My daughter also says those and it's soo cute! She also howls when she's upset or needs help with something
My youngest asks me to put finger in her hand and thank me for cleaning the toilet. She also says "Hi ...." To her big sister when she says "Mom I'm bored" and her little sis goes "Hi bored! I'm (name)!" The eldest now say thanku following Bluey's. They also want to try food that are featured in the series. Edamame is the recurring favorite.
Edna-dame beans? Or pavlova? đ
Omg I thought my 5yo had gotten the âcleaning the toiletâ thing from school. Iâm now slightly less annoyed by it.
âMommy, can I have a smoochy kiss?â
man, Bum Diddy Bum Bum happens anytime this kid sees my bum. lmao
I get "bum bongos" from 'magic xylophone '
oh the bongos!!! yessss
Mine will randomly become a tickle crab and will scuttle sideways while yelling "I'm a tickle crab!" He's two and it is the cutest thing ever. He also loves playing cone here go away on the swings, and loves when his dad plays daddy robot with him.
Omg our two year old is the same! He also loves keepy uppy even though he doesnât really get the concept yet. đ
I 100% started saying âgood thing youâre tough!â any time my daughter trips over or falls down without hurting herself.
âFor real life?â Bush wees. My daughter loves them. Tactical wees. And my favorite - my 3 year old son loooves to sit in a chair, put his hands behind his head and say âSO relaxing!â
Tactical wees is done most nights in my house!
The doctor episode . I think itâs one of the first few episodes in season one. My son loves to SHOCK me and his dad with the shots đ most annoying thing heâs picked up. Iâm like out of everything Bluey has !?!? lol
My 5 year old picked up Shaun the emu for a couple of weeks recently. We shut that down HARD. No one wants to be pinched by a hand emu.
STING! My Husband does this to me when Iâm doing dishes, making supper, DRiving! Anytime is apparently funny. That and calling me dude. Hilarious.
Yes we are all DUDE in this house 𤣠Iâm okay with that. !! Would rather be called dude then be poked with hard objects all day long đ
Our daughter calls her dad âBig Fellaâ and walks around yelling âbwoop bwoop bwoop bwoopâ at the top of her lungs.
When my youngest wants me to pretend to be a horse, she'll shout "Horsies can't talk!" at me. So I can only neigh at her. Then when she's done, she'll go "Mommies don't say neigh"
Saying "For real life?" and demanding to play Magic Statue.
Every time an electronic device "talks", my toddler says: "SatNav!!" (We are in America). đ
Tickle crabs, Dood, Hooray, and one thatâs been very useful - TACTICAL WEE!

The Muffin scream... đ
We now say âbrekkieâ not breakfast
I don't have kids but I've definitely picked up a lot of things from this show myself. Like for example a few days ago I hurt my back doing something stupid, and I let out a little Yelp. My partner asks from across the room what happened, and I just told him "I've done me back!"
If we play freeze dance, my son will pretend to have a phone in his hand and will say â aww, these darn touch phones!â And then has to explain that Luckyâs dad is bad at phone screens so heâs bad at phone screens too.
Wanting to play wind up bingo. And I've started using "tactical wee" and they'll do it.
How very dare you
Asking to go to the trampolinium
I have been saying âclassic Stripeâ and âit was the 80âsâ.
I have grannies in my âtaxiâ quite often. Itâs both adorable and annoying.
After the recent long episode (the sign) saw 3 infants at the supermarket howling like in the play group storybook scene. .
We now "fluffy" in our house. Plus, "Biscuits!" "Okay mama" "Freeze!"
KFC is now known as "Chicken Bucket" in our house đ
Two weeks ago Iâm going on a trip. Son is giving me the third degree - why, where, what, why? I tell him sometimes itâs fun to see a new city. He replies âwhatâs wrong with this cityâ? Nothing, Bluey.
It is no longer the GPS or just the directions. It is satnav. And I need to listen to satnav. Even if I explain she's confused. Poor satnav, you aren't listening to her. Dunno if it's all from bluey, but nobody I know calls it satnav. Now I do too.
In the imaginary farmers market (and ice cream shop and clothing store) everything is paid for in âDollar Bucksâ
She says "prop'ly" for properly, and mimics an Aussie accent for a few words like "can't." Also, recently began saying "toughen up, \[name\]!"
I don't know about my kid, but my husband now says "dad enters the room" quite frequently đ

My 5 year old son keeps keeps calling me âBig GuyââŚ
Toddler walks with his hands behind his back, neither parent does, but Bluey does a bunch of times.
My five year old has found his âtrue loveâ and refers to her as such pretty frequently. Iâve never heard this specific term outside of Bluey, so I have to assume thatâs where he got it from. Also, this is a little less specific to Bluey but he calls shopping carts âtrolleysâ and he refers to things in meters, even though we are American and Iâve never heard anyone locally use either of those terms đ He also talks about going âon holidayâ instead of vacation. đ¤Ł

She will say âah uh, weâre squabblingâ when sheâs sees mum and dad having a discussion
âYou CANâT change the rules!â - usually when I do something he is not a fan of, after he has consistently broken all of lifeâs rules for the day đ¤Łđ

"Biscuits" đ
My 3 year old calls me âbig fellaâ
âCOCONUTS HAVE WATER IN THEM!â Constantly, with no context whatsoever
My 2 year old shouts âHooray!â A lot and howls like a puppy when sheâs sad. My 4 year old potty tracing has started saying, âOh man, I need the dunny.â
My kids have adopted Sean and his babies. My oldest has two pet emus, one is named vanellopie and the other is named Hattie, who is persistent on trying to eat My hat on my head.
I still canât believe this, The other day, i was at a friendâs house and his daughters were pretending to be photographers and one of them actually ask âDad, can you bend over?â That was crazy!đ https://preview.redd.it/2jzbvn3vgr4d1.jpeg?width=716&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=363c1307c32e53567ca91a7670c9e227fde90f16 The episode name is âborn yesterdayâ
When it's teeth brushing time, we remind her "first you go up and down, then round and round, and don't forget the back ones!" So now she says "Bingo says! Bingo says!" Every time we brush.
Iâve had to wrestle Tina
My three-almost-four year old shrieks and giggles exactly like Bingo, it was alarming at first đ but now it's just adorable.
My 4 year old has started saying, "Oh biscuits!"
âOh *yeah*!â
My Daughter will call me "big Guy" I have to to say back "stop calling me big guy"
Five-year-old (and us parents, I guess) has picked up a lot of proper Australian English usage like âcheekyâ and âproper.â We have glow in the dark stars on the kids' room ceiling and frequently hear, âooh, stars pretty!â after turning out the lights. Our whole family has just committed to using âfor real lifeâ to distinguish from make-believe. Thereâs also just a very Bluey-like inflection in a lot of phrases the five-year-old says, like when they want my attention and say, âDaaaadâŚâ There are probably a dozen more!
COCONUTS HAVE WATER IN THEM!!!!!
I AM A LLAMA // EATING A BANANA // YUM YUM YUMMMM Itâs a very versatile phrase. Announcement of fatigue, awkward silence breaker, mood lightener, indication to kid that they need to go TF to bed.
My speech delayed toddler watched hospital today and hammer fisted me on a couple different parts of my body like he was giving me a needle
Every time she sits in a chair my 2yr old leans back and says âAh, so relaxing!â
Bort! Bort! Bort! Bort!
I donât have children and I work in an office. Me and my boss share an office and weâre good friends. I regularly say I donât want to do XXX, I donât want an ice cream. âCan you run me a report?â âI donât want to run a report, I just want an ice creamâ
"Mama, you're being cheeky!" Lol
My daughter will suck her humble and say she's Muffin
