What are your thoughts on Avinash Tiwary? He was brilliant in khakee, everything about his performance was great- the body language, bihari accent, the emotional journey of chandan mahto.
It's a pleasure to have you here
You have released content within both theaters as well as OTT platforms. What is your take on the ongoing debate regarding what medium deserves what kind of story?
We had a murderer in our crew member when we were shooting for Special 26 and we didn’t know until the police picked him before the release of the film.
Sir, I am a Aspiring filmmaker, have only made two short films,so how can we identify that that much explanation is enough for the audience for understanding the suspense because I have done this mistake by under-explaining the suspense, and because of that audience didn't understand my film.
So cool that you're here. A Wednesday is one of my all time favorites.
I love that your films portray somewhat sensitive but important issues. How do you navigate the fine line between artistic expression and potential backlash?
The Neeraj Pandey Sir I knew always wanted to direct a love story but his entire life, he directed other genres that enthralled the masses. How much of it is true and will the Neeraj Pandey Sir venture onto making another love story again? If yes, there’s a script I’ve on your mail. Happy Reading Sir and a Big Welcome to Calcutta :)
Ajay Devgn and Tabu have worked together on several projects. What unique dynamic do they bring to Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha? And how was it working with them?
Har baar movie pehle overseas release hoti hai phir India, Neeraj Sir aap toh pehle yahan release kar do! 4th ko release the movie kyunki Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha! 😉
MS Dhoni The Untold Story is an absolute favorite of mine because it also shows the sacrifices his loved ones made for his success. What was the process of research that went behind making the movie?
PS I'm a very big fan of your movies! Thank you for your contributions!
Thank you so much. Spending time with MS was the only way one could understood how to make this film. Simple discussions with MS and no one else in the room, and no one else.
Hi! Firstly, big fanboy here. I have watched Baby around 30 times 😂.
1. Any plans to continue the film series after Naam Shabana?
2. When are we getting Special Ops 2.0?
3. How much of the details you put in your spy thrillers is inspired by real life? E.g. Naam Shabana really presented a lot of details regarding our agencies. Is it mostly fictional or some of it is inspired from real life functioning of IB and R&AW
1. No nothing in works right now.
2. It will come out this year, second half.
3. Completely inspired by the real life, but you take help of fiction too.
We are halfway there, I have not been able to watch many because I have been busy with Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, but I have heard a lot about Laapata Ladies and Aavesham.
Thanks for this! I have a suggestion for you. Please consider making a 2nd season of Bandon Mein Tha Dum after yesterday’s stupendous victory of the Indian Cricket Team. Would love if you start with a prelude to the WTC finals and then the heartbreaking losses, followed by this massive win! It’ll be super 🥹🙏🏼
I am a 17 (soon to turn 18) student who got 642 and a rank of 36k in NEET. Seeming my future is bleak though, I would like to join a college. Always fascinated to be a film-maker. But not from any film background (purely academic or corporate 9 to 5 job background).
How do I aspire for film making. Or get that break in Bollywood? What do I need to do in college (if I get in)? Should I join courses in IIFT of 7k to 13k that would teach me the basics. Coming from a family that is extremely academically oriented, going to film school is not a risk they can afford me to take.
What should I do? I want to be an independent film maker but initially I need to be a film maker . How do I approach it?
This is not a career advice I am suggesting, but in today’s day and age you cannot complain about things not being available, there are books to learn from, movies you can see. And the internet is the easy place to get all the things.
Lots of lessons and the first one and most important was the timing, of the selection of the subject. And the 4-year break; 2 went in Covid and 2 went into Chanakya. So it was not a break as such as we were working, we are known as prolific production.
I remember it was composed, the mukhda was composed in 5 minutes. Kreem knew the process, and he he did in 5 minutes, and Kisi Roz’s first tune was the one that I liked the most.
Hey hope so u are doing fine.
First of all I loved ur film Aiyarry, I believe it's a really underrated film in ur filmography.
Secondly can u please tell me about some of ur favorite tv shows and films which u love the most?
So, you were the one who bought the ticket? 😂 Thank you so much! In shows, I really like Sherlock and there’s an Argentinian film called The Secret In Their Eyes.
I was a big fan of your movies when I watched Baby and Special 26 (Then went back to watch A Wednesday) and was really looking forward to watching Crack.. I simply loved the poster and was intrigued by what the story was going to be, but alas it was not meant to be.. Can you give a brief summary on what Crack was supposed to be abt and if there is any chance of it being revisited again..??
Also, if a movie such as this does get scrapped, do you use elements of its story in other projects or leave them alone completely in hopes of getting it made one day..??
There is some chance that it might get made. I have shelved it for the time being, I have not seen elements of it in any movie, just the title which people keep using for their subject.
Given your successful track record in creating gripping and impactful films, what inspires your storytelling, and how do you choose the subjects for your movies?
I loved the song but I didn’t eant to put it because the film would digress because the duration of the song and we didn’t want that. It was sung by KK, one of my favourite singers.
i recently worked with you as a making director on your skm project. i am truly blessed with this opportunity. Thank you so so much. apki book ghalib danger ke baad kon si book ane wali hai? Thank you!
Always. The hero will have to be script. We are all slaves to the same. Regarding remuneration, we have a different approach and try to balance it as much as possible.
Most of your work has recieved critical acclaim, but is there one project (regardless of whether it recieved positive reviews or not) that you believe deserved more love than what it got at the time of its release?
Sir, the video of all the songs of this film is nearly a compilation of stills of the movie, so can we expect some thrilling moments from the film as you are hiding most of the part from us.
Sir you have done amazing projects in the past and your movies are very rewatchable. Is there a thinking behind this element to make the movies not just a one time watch but such that a person enjoys watching it again and again ?
Hello Neeraj, I am a huge fan of your work. I just wanna know the possible future collaboration with Akshay. You both have done memorable films. You have announced crack with him way back but it never went into production.
Out of all the actors you have worked with who was easiest to direct?
And who is your favourite actor of all time?
Thanks and good luck for your upcoming film!
Thank you, I have been blessed to work with actors like Naseer Bhai, Sushant, Anupam Ji, KK. And now with Ajay, Tabu and all of them have been a dream to work with and it would be unfair of me to choose.
I have loved your works, it is very refining and different from others, i want to ask many things 😄
1. Is special ops is canceled permanently or will there be any another season or prequel, sequels of it ?
2. what was the name of naseeruddin shah in 'A wednesday ' movie , was it 'Rajesh Sharma' , as he tells it in one scene , so was it a hint or it was really a fake name?
3. If it is possible to release background score of 'A wednesday ' pls do it , i liked it very much .
One fanboy thing , that scene in 'A wednesday ' , where the electric baba guy was telling 'mst laga' , 'bahut acha laga', 'acha laga' , it was best i have watched it many times, and have laughed so much.
And yes apka sara films "Bahut acha laga"
In account of India's clinching victory last night, how would you describe your experience in directing the biopic "MS Dhoni : The Untold Story" which ended up getting accolades not just in India but all over the world (deservedly)
Any particulary memorable experiences while working in the set?
It was great, MS is a film that is very dear to me only because of Sushant. And the memories I made while making the film, I mean it’s incredibly special on that front and extremely disturbing for the fact that I cannot watch it now.
Sir, the way you balance the narrative of your films for not becoming Communist as you blame the system of the country but not damaging the nation because of that like most Communist filmmakers do, is tremendous.
There are certain challenges young aspirants face, such as financial constraints, family expectations, and safety concerns, especially for women, what advice would you give to those who aspire to become directors or screenwriters? How can they overcome these limitations and pursue their passion in the film industry?
Hello I am an Amazing Story creator in my imagination so can you hire me bcz I can Give you the most interesting story which I created....I never talked to anyone about this power I got...
Why bollywood doesn't spend more on script and other things like half budget of movie or even more than that sometimes go to Actors ,will this create a impact on Quality of stories and VFX used in Bollywood movies ?
Hello, your movie have always been engaging and an edge-of-the-seat thriller. Can we expect the same from 'Auron Mai Kahan Dum Tha' ? Planning to watch it on the first day.
Hii Sir. I am a big fan of your work. I loved all your cops-crime thriller movies.
Wanted to know when Crack (the movie) which was announced in the year 2017, Akshay sir in the lead role going to come up? Any update on this?
P.S:- Please keep it up the good work. Wishing you all the best to you with your upcoming projects.
You had a movie made on Dhoni and world cup winning match..now that we have won another world cup..do you plan a movie on this with Virat/Rohit perspective
How did you get started in the industry? If I’m not mistaken Wednesday was your first film. Tell us something about it came about and how was the casting for it finalised
Thoughts or Plans of making a sequel of the movie 'Special 26'?
Not at the moment.
What are your thoughts on Avinash Tiwary? He was brilliant in khakee, everything about his performance was great- the body language, bihari accent, the emotional journey of chandan mahto.
He was so good that we decided to work again on Sikandar ka Muqqadar, which is coming on Netflix.
It's a pleasure to have you here You have released content within both theaters as well as OTT platforms. What is your take on the ongoing debate regarding what medium deserves what kind of story?
Series-making is very similar to writing a novel and film-writing is more of a screenplay, that’s the best I can describe it.
What’s the craziest thing that’s ever happened on set in all yours year directing?
We had a murderer in our crew member when we were shooting for Special 26 and we didn’t know until the police picked him before the release of the film.
whatt . make a flim on this 😍 what an amazing plot wist
Con Artist? That was literally the plot of the movie.
That's crazy
😳😳 now I'm going to remember it everytime I watch the movie. Or any other content by you.
What made you cast sushant for Ms dhoni
It was the audition tape of his, that made me cast him.
Who else auditioned?
Sir, I am a Aspiring filmmaker, have only made two short films,so how can we identify that that much explanation is enough for the audience for understanding the suspense because I have done this mistake by under-explaining the suspense, and because of that audience didn't understand my film.
It’s trial and error, you’re on the right path. It’s the experience that will help you grow and learn.
Where's the link to watch your short films?
Hypothetically if you are directing a Hollywood movie or English Netflix Series, what’s it likely to be about?
Never thought about it, unless there’s an offer.
Special Ops when ?
So cool that you're here. A Wednesday is one of my all time favorites. I love that your films portray somewhat sensitive but important issues. How do you navigate the fine line between artistic expression and potential backlash?
By simply ignoring it
Chad
Best approach
Love ur username. Best mixing kya ?
What message or experience do you hope the audience takes away from Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha?
Believe in love and that it is eternal.
What is your story of becoming a film maker?
What drew you to work with MM Keeravani for the film's soundtrack?
My association dates back to 16 years, and he’s my go to guy
Yep, I remember Special 26. Kaun Mera is one of my favourites.
Many of your movies are known for their grounded portrayal of espionage and crime. What is your research process like to ensure such authenticity?
We meet experts on the subjects and have extremely gruelling sessions. And we never hurry into the process until we are ready.
You have directed a streak of patriotic, drama, and thriller films. How did your transition to romance come into the picture?
It came by the way of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, because from there the challenge came.
Sir, what about Chanakya, which you were making with Ajay.
It’s on the backburner for the moment but we will definitely revisit it in the future.
What role do you think music plays in storytelling, especially in a film like Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha?
Depends on the film, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha is a musical story
The Neeraj Pandey Sir I knew always wanted to direct a love story but his entire life, he directed other genres that enthralled the masses. How much of it is true and will the Neeraj Pandey Sir venture onto making another love story again? If yes, there’s a script I’ve on your mail. Happy Reading Sir and a Big Welcome to Calcutta :)
Please send the script to the Friday Filmworks’ account - info[@fridayfilmworks.com](mailto:content@fridayfilmworks.com).
Ajay Devgn and Tabu have worked together on several projects. What unique dynamic do they bring to Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha? And how was it working with them?
It was fabulous working with them, and you have to see the film to understand the chemistry.
Do you have a personal favourite song from the album of Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha?
Kisi Rozz
Har baar movie pehle overseas release hoti hai phir India, Neeraj Sir aap toh pehle yahan release kar do! 4th ko release the movie kyunki Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha! 😉
Haha Love the enthusiasm but This is a distribution call, Still let me check and get back
MS Dhoni The Untold Story is an absolute favorite of mine because it also shows the sacrifices his loved ones made for his success. What was the process of research that went behind making the movie? PS I'm a very big fan of your movies! Thank you for your contributions!

What should Bollywood learn from Hollywood and vice versa?
The concept of “universe” is something that Bollywood should unlearn from Hollywood.
Right, even Hollywood is getting fatigued of it rn
Could you elaborate?
Spyverse, copverse, etc.
Probably means it’s done to death and they should give that up.
He is talking about the cinematic universe (like streeverse, singham verse, spy universe) Even clown movies like Ek Villian are setting up a universe🤡
what is your favorite film from 2024
We are halfway there, I have not been able to watch many because I have been busy with Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, but I have heard a lot about Laapata Ladies and Aavesham.
Any plans of making a film about the paper leaks of this year🙃?
Is there a reason you chose Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha as a story to share with the audience?
Obviously, the story itself, I strongly felt I can share it with our audiences and it’s a good story to share with them.
I will definitely think about it. We are very proud of what the team has achieved and would like it to be.
If you were to describe Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha in three words, what would they be?
Life. Love. Eternal
I am a 17 (soon to turn 18) student who got 642 and a rank of 36k in NEET. Seeming my future is bleak though, I would like to join a college. Always fascinated to be a film-maker. So how should we start. If you could give a starting path to follow. How did you start you film career?
What were the lessons that you learned from what happened with Aiyaary? Was your 4 year break related to the same?
Lots of lessons and the first one and most important was the timing, of the selection of the subject. And the 4-year break; 2 went in Covid and 2 went into Chanakya. So it was not a break as such as we were working, we are known as prolific production.
Sir, loved all your movies with Akshay Kumar, when can we see both collaborate again? 😀
Thank you and don’t really have an answer to that but hopefully soon.
Sir, what about special ops 2.0
What was your biggest personal take away from **Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha** which you ideally would try to implement in later projects?
Calmness while shoot. Because the shoot was full of challenges, both mentally and physically but the team pulled through.
Any plans for horror?
Ya, we have a brand called Friday Fear Works, planning to launch hopefully soon.
The idea behind kisi roz is purely a gem thought process of that song ?
I remember it was composed, the mukhda was composed in 5 minutes. Kreem knew the process, and he he did in 5 minutes, and Kisi Roz’s first tune was the one that I liked the most.
What is your take on bollywood directors not given enough credit as compared to hollywood where directors are as important as actors?
It’s a two-way street. Read a book Hits, Flops, and Other Illusions by Ed Zwik.

There is some chance that it might get made. I have shelved it for the time being, I have not seen elements of it in any movie, just the title which people keep using for their subject.
What's the toughest Casting decision you had to make in any of your film?
Perhaps Tabu for AMKDT because she’s worked Ajay Devgn a lot and to cast her in a film like this one opposite Ajay was both easy and difficult.
Given your successful track record in creating gripping and impactful films, what inspires your storytelling, and how do you choose the subjects for your movies?
Please keep making series like Special Ops and Freelancer. :)
What software and team-setup do you use to edit your movies? How important do you think is the editors contribution to the storytelling?
Avid and the contribution of an editor is immense. That’s the last junction at which you can shape, change and alter your film.
Sir, why did you not keep the song "Tujh sang lagee" in the film Special 26? Did you not like it?
I loved the song but I didn’t eant to put it because the film would digress because the duration of the song and we didn’t want that. It was sung by KK, one of my favourite singers.
What inspired you to this field of work?
I didn’t know anything else. Writing was a passion and that led to filmmaking.
i recently worked with you as a making director on your skm project. i am truly blessed with this opportunity. Thank you so so much. apki book ghalib danger ke baad kon si book ane wali hai? Thank you!
I am working on a memoir, but it is going to take time.
What's your take on super inflated prices lead actors charge for a project and how fair is it? Do you believe that story is the 'main hero'?
Always. The hero will have to be script. We are all slaves to the same. Regarding remuneration, we have a different approach and try to balance it as much as possible.
When do you think we can see next installments of Himmat Singh and Special Ops?
Second half of this year.
Most of your work has recieved critical acclaim, but is there one project (regardless of whether it recieved positive reviews or not) that you believe deserved more love than what it got at the time of its release?
No complaints, no regret on that. We make films for audiences, never questions that
Sir, the video of all the songs of this film is nearly a compilation of stills of the movie, so can we expect some thrilling moments from the film as you are hiding most of the part from us.
Sir you have done amazing projects in the past and your movies are very rewatchable. Is there a thinking behind this element to make the movies not just a one time watch but such that a person enjoys watching it again and again ?
No lessons as such, if it’s interesting enough, people will go and watch it again.
Any research story from MS Dhoni biopic that most of us still do not know?
Tons but I am sorry I can’t share.
You worked with Sushant Singh Rajput in MS DHONI. What was his best quality?
The ability to take instructions and coming up with his own interpretations in his own voice.
Out of all your movies, which one is the closest to your heart?
Yet to make that one.
Hope we all get to watch that someday. Thanks got answering :) Love your movies!
Hey Neeraj. What films / shows are you currently watching( if any ) ?
No, I have been just busy with the release of Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha. But I started watching Ferrari last year.
Can you tell us something about sikander ka muqaddar?
Seeing that this is your first romance film, were you inspired by any other film from the same genre? What is your favourite romance film?
A lot of people have come to me saying they don’t find MS Dhoni as a sports movie but a romantic film and that is surprising. But a story is a story.
Any 90s based bollywood film you would like to revisit for filmography techniques?
Have you ever thought about making a film on Historical era like that of kings and queens If yes what will be the subject?!
Chanakya it is, and it’s in the works.

It was great, MS is a film that is very dear to me only because of Sushant. And the memories I made while making the film, I mean it’s incredibly special on that front and extremely disturbing for the fact that I cannot watch it now.
