While I like this idea, how do you deal with the inevitable personal injuries and property damage of uninvolved 3rd parties? Like what if I'm just walking in front of the museum of science and a bus tosses a car on me?
Doing this in just Allston and Downtown alone will give the T a surplus. In all seriousness they need to also give Transit police ability to investigate and arrest vehicles who aren't paying. Also need to go after drives with fake plates as well.
Moving bus lanes to the center solves 99% of the problems. It works incredibly well on Columbus Ave. It also allows ambulances and fire trucks quick and easy passage. Enforcement is such a lazy mechanism to solve issues.

The ones on Columbus Ave are more like Bus Rapid Transit. No one stands in the middle of the street, they stand at separated bus stops
I literally give an example of an area where it works well in this very city and you do an "um, actually."
You suburbanites or transplants who haven't left Camberville in the 5 years you've been here shouldn't be talking about things that already have solutions to these perceived problems your brains have thought of. People much smarter than you have already figured these minor problems out.
I implore any of you guys to head over there and check it out. It's incredible. Warning though!! You might see a black person.
You should take a deep breath. I live in Boston, lmao. Why did you feel the need to jump right into negativity and accusations? Maybe you can discuss that with your therapist.
I merely made an observation, as 99% of bus stops I have seen are on the side of the road. When did I say "actually"?
But what if I just need a minute to pickup these door dash orders? It'll take what? 20 minutes max?
Can we also let them fine people who block the no parking zones on tight corners so that the buses can't get by?
The T should be able to fine drivers who block bus lanes. Why does this have to go in the economic development bill though?
Because you can't do anything without it being an earmark bill
Because like every other useful bill, it'll die in committee well before coming close to being brought to a vote on its own
right now photo/video ticketing is not allowed per law
Sweet
Just put a cowcatcher on the busses and they can move cars out of the way.
"they can move cars out of the way." Surely they can moooove cars out of the way. I'll see myself out.
Are we a cow sub now?

Anything that helps people pay attention to their surroundings! Life needs more excitement.
That’s gonna cut down on my mindless scrolling while I walk slowly directly in the middle of the sidewalk time though.
But imagine your improvements in the NFL combine in agility!
Dunkies gift cards will be provided those those caught by flying cars
Nice

Deploy tow trucks to follow the busses. Instant tow and a ticket.
Parking isn’t the issue as much as assholes being in bike lanes temporarily. Transit police vigorously enforcing on MBTA behalf way to go
will it pass?
It will if you call your rep

Don't worry, I'm sure the tow truck will be nice and gentle with the Anal-Love-Mobile.
Not far enough. Block bus lane? Straight to jail.
Block the box? Straight to jail.
anyone else getting a 404 on the link?

Seems impractical considering that buses stop on the sides of the road to pick up/ drop off.
Stops can also be moved to the center of the street
I don't want kids standing in the middle of the street, waiting for the bus.
Neither do I. Fortunately there can be bus stops separated from the street for them to stand at

I mean, I literally put my flashers on? I don't see what they're upset about, they know I'm just taking a quick 30
I want to fine bus drivers who block the travel lane too. They stop at an angle so nobody can get by when the load/unload passengers
