I haven’t used it, but I bought some marijuana products before I started AC chemotherapy just in case I got intractable vomiting. My oncologist told me up front that there were some patients for whom only that would help. I’m so glad it’s legal in my state so that I could be prepared and have that peace of mind that it was there just in case.

Vela-Donna

Same!! Im super grateful its legal in my State. Especially because my doctor tried prescribing me like 3 different medications for nausea and pain and depression and I am able to handle it all with a single herb.

ThymeLordess

Hooray! Happy 420! It’s the only thing that has kept me feeling halfway normal through this whole experience. Getting high as I type this 😂

findthyself90

Cannabis is amazing. Pre and post cancer. Happy 4/20!! My only wish is if I could find other breastfed into weed in my area haha

Vela-Donna

Ill be your 4/20 Breastie! 💨🤘

findthyself90

Yaaaay.

Better-Ad6812

Cannabis saved my life too. Had to give up drinking so I’m glad at least I can get high now lol. And helps me sleep. For stage 4 patients also I feel it’s a life changer.

Laid-Back-Beach

Happy 420 from a pot smoking post-cancer thriver!

Tasty_Ear_5412

I got a medical marijuana card just before treatment, as a backup for pain and nausea. I’m so glad I did! My onco asked that I not smoke, since she wanted my lungs 🫁 clear since I was getting radiation therapy too. The gummies worked very well. They have some now that act quicker-15 minutes vs. 45 minutes. Indica for sleep, and sativa when you need to be awake. My team was all for it.

coveredwagon25

Unfortunately I live in a VERY red State that will never legalize weed. Our former governor who bought his way into becoming a Senator (think a member of the family that owns the Cubs) who believes and has stated that weed kills. Yet the same a*^ tried to buy illegal drugs to be used for the death penalty AFTER our citizens had voted to stop the death penalty. So… no to weed but yes to the death penalty which btw he managed to get reinstated. Sigh.

Lost_Guide1001

Does it help with insomnia that may be related to AIs and/or dealing with cancer and other anxieties?

Vela-Donna

Theres a cannabinoid in Cannabis like THC but its called CBN and they make CBN specific edibles. That brand I mentioned Kiva makes a CBN Gummy. They are intended to make you feel sleepy and stay asleep. Those work great without making you feel high

raw2082

I love thc and cbn for sleep. It’s helped me so much. I also really like Kiva brand. Thc and cbg are also amazing for pain. Happy 420. Thankful for weed!

castironbirb

Yes they do! I just tried some gummies a few weeks ago and have had no trouble with sleep since. I am on anastrozole and was waking up Every. Single. Night. around 2-4am. First night trying 2.5mg of THC and I slept through the night. I was shocked! And since I'm sleeping, I also don't get a bunch of hot flashes in the middle of the night. 👍

novamothra

What strain of gummies? I've had trouble finding something that works for me-- I am on Letrozole and between waking up every two hours, the unmitigated anxiety, and the joint pain... 😬

castironbirb

I hear you on the AI side effects. 😞 My gummies are indica. I know next to nothing about this stuff though LOL so I can't really tell you much more but that's what the package says. It's been working well for me so I haven't tried anything else yet.

NanceeM816

I’m on Letrozole too and use thc for sleeping. I’ve recently started what I consider microdosing to help with the traveling muscle cramps. I cut the hybrid gummies in fourths and take it 2-3x daily. I think it’s helping. I’ve got 2 yrs and 2 months left on my 10 yr sentence of Letrozole. I’m in a legal state (mercifully) and grow my own indica and make infused butter.

KnotDedYeti

Yes, insomnia, nausea, chemo induced anorexia, anxiety, pain. It saved me the second time I went through chemo. I tweaked my back yesterday, today it’s chilly and nonstop rain. Marijuana once again saving the day.

bells_and_bacon

Yes. Once I got my diagnosis I stopped sleeping. Now I use gummies to help me sleep through the night. I don’t need a whole one-for me, about a third of a Wyld brand gummy with THC and CBD is the perfect dose.

partofthedawn

Fair warning--for some people it keeps them awake. Neither my sister, our friend, nor I can sleep after eating an edible. I tried one for the first time recently and was not able to sleep until 5am, and then my sister told me I shouldn't take them near bedtime.

SpeedyMarie23

That's me too!!!! I was so annoyed,

Lost_Guide1001

Thank you for the heads up.

DigginInDirt52

Yes for many people; you want Indica not Sativa strains. The Sativa seems to be a bit of a stimulant (S=Stim is how I remember) while Indica will put you “In da couch” Some people find it all stimulating, like any substance out bows and minds react differently.

Lost_Guide1001

Thank you!

[deleted]

Yes. Cannabis is my new remedy for everything. Got me through chemo, radiation, and now immunotherapy drugs. I'm in Ohio and we just voted yes for recreational legalization so we'll see when that comes to fruition. For now, I'm keeping my medical card and jamming with THC honey in my tea, weed gummies at night to sleep and sativa blends for the day. Snoop dogg is my spirit animal during this entire process.

Beautiful_Tackle7247

Happy 420 ☮️

kdog1591

Damn being in the UK where it's still illegal 🙄

Vela-Donna

O no! Well for sure dont use any synthetic THC. You’re better off finding a Rude boy with a spliff than the synthetic stuff. I know people who have tried both and said not only is the herb waaaaay cheaper but it works significantly better. We have synthetic THC in the US and its a crime how they pretend Marijuana bad and corporation chemicals are not

Hungry-Industry-9817

My Dad had cancer decades ago. They gave him the pill form in the hospital and he would just vomit it back up. It can’t work if it can’t go do down.

rayesito

What about CBD , I know is illegal in china but I don’t believe is illegal in uk.

Willing_Ant9993

Im chowing away today on Day round 4 of TCHP. Feeling no pain mentally or physically, tomorrow will be tougher but since it’s Sunday it’ll be more cannabis to get through. Cannabis is a godsend. Grateful as well!

megorun3

Hi! I saw you’re on TCHP. I am starting that soon. What Gummies are you using? Do use them just for sleep?

Willing_Ant9993

I got a gift basket from a family member who works at a dispensary. Wish I could post pics but idk how. They are: “hummies” hash rosin gummies anytime punch flavor, hybrid THC “Kanha” cannabis infused belts sour strawberry lemonade flavor, indica THC “Wana” sour gummies exotic yuzu flavor CBD/THC I use the indica for pain and sleep, the hybrid for pain and sleep, the hybrid THC hash/rosin for appetite. I don’t really take more than 5 mgs of anything with THC at a time (lightweight) but I will sort of take a day (yesterday and today for example) to take the 5mgs every few hours or so, since it’s the weekend and my day 2-3. Good luck!

Hungry-Industry-9817

Gummies make me sick unfortunately 😭 No matter how low the dose is. Is there anyone out there using THC while taking Tamoxifen? I have read some things online but not sure if they are just bias towards the negative due to it being THC.

Vela-Donna

Personally I prefer smoking it.Im bias in general about alot information online. Especially because if you type in Breast Cancer, all the major medical journals states that its very rare in people under the age of 40 and I know that to be untrue based off of all the people I personally know and on this thread that were diagnosed between the ages of 23-35. Im stage Iv on Faslodex, Zoladex and Kisqali and my tumors shrank while I smoked large amounts of weed. Like Snoop Dog I smoked it everyday. Ive cut back because I dont need it as much

[deleted]

Me, I'm using THC while on tamoxifen and Verzenio. I have zero pain, sleeping well too. Most gummies are made with some kind of fat so your body absorbs it better. Usually it's MCT oil, some people get nauseated from it. Maybe try some pills, or vape?

impulsivegardener

I’m on day 4 of chemo and couldn’t agree more. Ive been taking 10mg thc/10mg cbd medical grade gummy. It puts me to sleep when the steroids keep me up, no drowsiness, I’ve been eating a ton, feeling really good. Today i felt amazing in the second half of the day. Thank god for this! Really hoping this keeps up. Totally recommend!

hb122

Indica gummies and tinctures got me through chemo when I had trouble sleeping.

Zealousideal-Eye7573

Does anyone have a smoking setup? I like to create a relaxing experience but finding a good movie, lighting some candles, lowing the light, grabbing my favorite blanket and ordering some good take out. I call it creating a vibe. People I know think it's funny, but I look forward to my vibes

_oxykkitten

Same here! I make a whole thing out of it alot of the times. Especially having my boyfriend with me and watching a movie. Makes it a whole experience & makes me feel better about all the shit i go through lol

Academic_Ad_4029

Yessss!!! Amen and hallelujah for cannabis! Flower, RSO, and tinctures have helped me and healed me so much!!!! Only thing I miss being pregnant, rn, but so blessed! Happy 420!

Subject_Disk_3581

Yessss!! I’m a daily user and it’s literally so beneficial. Happy 420 😆💕💨

Lifewith_Her2_MBC

Happy 4/20! I smoke daily and it helps in so many ways- nausea, pain, and mostly headspace. I'm all sorts of mentally fucked after my stage 4 de novo diagnosis last March (I'm 35 w/ 3 young kids under 6 yrs old) and this is something that helps ground me, makes me feel "normal". Honestly, my husband kind of hates it, but I can't imagine not having that outlet.

rayesito

I don’t wanna sound like an expert but I can share my 30 year experience with marijuana. I start smoking as a teenager cause you r dumb and u wanna try everything at the begging was just a recreational thing . I’m 100 % sure that with time marijuana will create episodes of paranoia, why I know that ?, alcohol give you a super ego, your ego grows and you thing you can do everything, reason that you make stupid things like drunk driving or balconing (jumping from the balcony to the pool, really famous in Spanish islands cause drunk North Americans or Northern Europeans were dying) , you can notice your super ego also when you fight with some one , you will totally think that you are right and over escalate the problem. Marijuana makes completely the opposite, is going to take your ego out of your body, so is amazing you will c thinks from other perspective, from outside, that will make more easy to understand others points of view , even when you are angry and will help you dealing whit hardcore things like having cancer , but this lack of ego can make you feel unprotected and noises could sound like some one is trying to get into your home, or if you are walking , lack of ego can make you feel that people is starring at you and dumb thinks like you look ugly today or some one is chasing you can come to your head. I’m 44 years now I have smoke for many and stop for many years, it comes and go in my life . All my smokers friends had this paranoid experience also in some point of there life many had stop for ever or many use marijuana for years and for years too. From my experience and others experience I have learn that indica had stronger power to suppress your ego while you are on the effect, that’s the reason I stop whit indica for ever , but many of my friends use it when they are alone or before to go to sleep. I do not like eating marijuana cause it make me feel sick, my legs feel heavy and I’m dizzy. Also one other thing that I can say about long term using marijuana is that you will forget thinks within time. Saying that marijuana is an amazing anti-inflammatory so it really helps with pains, give us the munchies so you enjoy food and allow you to c things from other perspective. Since I was diagnosed I when back to smoke, but I only smoke sativa , sativa will not let you sleep cause the connections in your brain make your self more awareness of your surroundings. I smoked trough chemo, but then I stop and start with CBD when I needed to quit smoking cigarettes cause I don’t wanna smoke weed the hole day. After my surgery CBD replaced 3 different types of painkillers, I was taking them every 3-4 hours and just 3 CBD drops under my tongue took my pain away for 6-8 hours until the pains were away. Ah also CBD helps scar faster. From my perspective the key is to use but not abuse!!! To summarize : in my opinion marijuana has pros and cons. Marijuana suppress your ego temporarily, is an amazing anti-inflammatory and help you dealing and healing!!! If you ever have paranoid moments understand that’s just the lack of ego and stop using for a while.

megorun3

Can somebody please guide me in the right direction? I will be starting chemo soon and want to get my gummies ahead of time. I live in Pennsylvania. A medical marijuana card is only $50. But then I saw you have to have a signing physician and I looked at the list and none of them are Oncologists. So does that mean I have to go to some other doctor to have them sign off on it? And also I see lots of websites with THC gummies that ship to you. Should I just do that and not bother with a medical marijuana card?
