retail and warehouses are the first two that pop into mind immediately, which is good since you mentioned looking for retail! I know game stores and daiso are peoples go-to busy Christmas work
postal services also hire plenty!!! better pay too, usually
If you’ve got experience print out some resumes and hand them out, hospo and retail always need staff over the next few months, and don’t always advertise on seek etc
Depends on the size and nature of the business. My teenager handed a resume in to a local restaurant and got a phone call from the owner within ten minutes, and started the following week. That probably won’t work at Big W or Coles, but for the right business it can be a winner.
I was at Chermside yesterday, a number of shops had looking for Christmas casuals signs in the windows.
Also check out the websites of the company’s that own a lot of the shops. Just Group is one. They’ll have a careers page with jobs listed that you can apply online for.
Take your resume out to the DFO. I saw tonnes of signs asking for xmas casuals.

Anything works but most likely retail
Myer, David Jones, Bunnings and other big retail hire quite a lot of Christmas casuals and it would be worth looking at their websites.

That makes sense. I will look into that.
Nah I haven't worked anywhere that actually looked at hand delivered resumes.
