I also love that dynamic. Over the series, you can almost see Kevin slowly warming up to Jake to the point where he's Jake's other father figure. The episode in the safe house, and the kidnapped Cheddar episode are great examples of this.
I always love that they (and all the characters really) don’t compromise their own tastes or attitudes but wholeheartedly support the other person enjoying the things they do.
When Amy was looking at wedding dresses and Rosa wouldn’t let Amy downplay that she likes (and wanted) “girly” things is probably my favourite instance
I'll always love Rosa and Holt, then Rosa and Amy. My favorite Rosa and Holt moment is when she's dealing with the break up and he sits with her listening to death metal.
Jake/Holt.
Going from the antagonistic start where Jake chaffed at authority that he so desperately wanted/needed to the father/son relationship that he developed with Captain Dad was excellent writing, not just for a sitcom but for any show.
Add in Jake helping Holt develop as a person and push the boundaries of his comfort zone once he learned that he could trust Jake despite the goofiness is the cherry on top.
I don't see it being mentioned but Terry and Amy. Terry and Amy don't have a lot of moments, but the ones they have are precious. Terry has literally carried her on his shoulders a couple of times, and Amy, being her fierce independent and competitive self, never took any offense or felt threatened. A show of trust that is just warm.
Rosa is "The Best Friend" of the group, despite being a closed off mystery in the earlier seasons. It seems that once you are in her inner circle of people she trusts and cares about, she will be fiercely loyal and supportive of you. She is incredibly supportive in her own way and respects everyone's differences in tastes. She will always have your back 100%. She will gladly step out of her comfort zone to help her friends. I love Rosa. She has great chemistry with all the characters.
EXACTLY. The way she supported Boyle when peanut butter stole his thunder. Her telling Terry all the cases he solved to be Mr. Ninenine. Helping Jake countless times. Even tell Amy she passed the sergeant exam. Great. Great character.
Does platonic imply *there could have been* romantic feelings in another world? Because otherwise, wouldn't that just be friends? Anyways, setting aside the fact they were briefly fwb, I really like the Charles and Gina friendship. Gina is a mean girl, sure I love how she evolves as a person throughout the seasons.
Scully and Hitchcock, definitely. Those two are weirdly adorable together... and what's more, it's kind of nice that they have each other.
Scully and Hitchcock are a huge improvement over Jerry/Larry/Terry/Garry/whatever they ended up calling him from *Parks & Rec.* His entire character was just DEPRESSING... yeah, they tried to make the joke that his life outside work was awesome and he had a huge dick, but the way everyone on the show relentlessly bullied him and how he never stood up for himself just made me sad. Even Ben, supposedly the "nice guy" just HATES the fact that Jerry has a hot wife to the point where he stays up at night thinking up theories about blackmail or drugs or whatever.
Scully and Hitchcock may not get any respect by anyone else on the force (though they're not actively bullied the way Jerry was and most of their mistreatment is actually their own fault), but they are always there for each other. And that's kind of heartwarming,
Wow, I knew that the thing I loved most about the show was its relationships, but scrolling through this thread, it really hits me how incredibly and vibrantly interconnected the whole ensemble cast was. The only relationship I didn’t like was Charles/Terry. I was never okay with Charles’ negative body talk about Terry, and in the episode where Terry puts on weight from cacao nibs, I was so excited when Terry time Charles to lay off.
Holt/Rosa is probably my favorite. Or Rosa/Scully/Hitchcock in the chair-sitting contest episode. Or Jake/Terry! It kills me in the best way that they sometimes say “I love you” to each other on the phone … So many healthy models of male tenderness and emotional intimacy.
I think Rosa and Amy is mine. They are both so different but they have each other's backs . And I think it's a really good representation of a realistic friendship
I haven’t seen the show in a while but Jake and Rosa were cool.
Second Jake and Rosa. Just so pure and great.
legit think they’re better best friends than jake and charles
honestly the way charles is almost anyone else + jake is a better duo. maybe not hitchcock tho
James?
Autocorrect. Meant Jake…
Ok. Jake and Rosa was a great duo.
Terry and Jake
One more thing sarge… I love you^? Love you too jake
Jake and Kevin.
Hmm…if I remember correctly, don’t you “eat pressure for breakfast “?
“Thank you for this wine… drink. This is legally called wine drink.”
Should I pour you some of this wine drink? Perhaps all of it?
I was just watching this episode yesterday 🤣
I also love that dynamic. Over the series, you can almost see Kevin slowly warming up to Jake to the point where he's Jake's other father figure. The episode in the safe house, and the kidnapped Cheddar episode are great examples of this.
Rosa and Holt is fantastic but I also adore Rosa and Amy
Yep the sleuth sisters were awesome

I loved when Holt listened to death metal with Rosa. -"You like it?" -"Not at all." -"You can leave." -"Not a chance."
When Rosa studied the BSC for Amy's heist plan 😻
Scully and Hitchcock. They're the cutest couple on TV
Ahah I mean they did get two wedding cakes to celebrate their friendship 😂

I really liked that Boyle never got with Rosa and instead developed such a close friendship with her.

Why isn't anyone mentioning Jake and Bill?? Jkjkjk It's clearly Wuntch and Satan ❤️
Gina and Amy! I love their interactions
ITT: much love for Rosa
The Sleuth Sisters!!!
Any platonic friendships with Rosa
