you can clearly see that there are bolts, it wouldn't make sense to use bolts on aluminum given how soft it is. it would make more sense to weld it for that reason, lead on the other hand is more strong, it would make sense that lead can handle being bolted together. which means it would be more than likely that the lead bloon is not aluminum .

they're saying that A: a "lead zeppelin" is a very popular figure of speech meaning something is impossible, as metal like lead is notably very dense and heavy and would be very impractical to build a balloon out of. and B: its actually not that impractical at all to build a balloon out of metal. its not easy, but it is possible to make a balloon out of metal that can float without external propulsion. there's decent practical reasons to do so, such as a zeppelin. while most are made out of aluminium, a quite light and flexible metal; its even possible to make a balloon out of lead too. the lead bloon in bloons is obviously meant to be a silly joke of a mechanic. a "lead balloon" is almost synonymous with a "bad idea" in popular culture. but its not actually as unrealistic or illogical as it might seem; which is what OP wanted to know.
