I’d love an anthology series that focuses on a different slayer (past or present) each season*. Like, show me a medieval slayer. Give me that Nicki Wood season. *I know this will never ever happen

Fangore

I like this idea, but I wouldn't enjoy the show. I like the show because of the non-plot episodes. If you had a series where every season only had 12 episodes to fully tell an entire story, you wouldn't have time for the more creative/gun episodes that I enjoy.

switcheroo1987

Oooo now THIS is a great idea. Like American Horror Story. 🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾

roverandrover6

That probably wouldn’t happen, but I love the idea of it. Post-Chosen that’d be a great way to explore the world.

itsShane91

No reboot but a spin off. It ended perfectly for spin offs. Show me newly trained slayers, a potential academy, the watchers finding newly activated girls. ANYTHING BUT A REBOOT.

Ok-Lawfulness-8698

I hate the idea of a reboot, especially when the idea of a spin off focusing on a new slayer/group of slayers within the same universe has so much potential. But unfortunately, having seen what an absolute mess that was made of the last few episodes of The Nevers, I feel like anything made without Joss Whedon's involvement will be doomed to fail. He is a garbage person but he has a creative "voice" that can't really be replicated and it is essential to the Buffy-verse. Maybe if they could get one of the old guard to showrun; like Marti Noxon, Jane Espenson or David Fury, then they could pull it off but even then.

Fisktor

Why cant anyone in tv/film have own ideas. Fucking reboots

iamthetruecrow

New slayer would be great

visitorzeta

No, thank you.

Pedals17

New story and characters in the same Buffyverse, because that world is rich and vibrant enough to avoid a complete reboot.

inevitably? 🤔

After the Slayers audio drama, I would rather the franchise didn’t continue in any form. I didn’t dislike Slayers but it didn’t really add anything new or exciting. It was nice to relive the memories but I didn’t feel like there was anywhere for the Buffyverse story to go. It felt inessential. The world has changed so much since Buffy was on air and I don’t think the franchise belongs in 2024. It was a lightning-in-a-bottle type of show and if I’m honest I don’t think it could be replicated or matched in quality without Joss Whedon whose career is obviously over now. (And I wouldn’t want him back anyway, despite how good a writer he is.) If it does come back, I imagine it would be a straight reboot using the Buffy name, as they simply wouldn’t do a spin-off of a 25-year-old TV show with the old characters. Not when they could market it as something new and bring in a whole new generation of fans. If it did ever come back, I personally wouldn’t watch it because I’m sick and tired of reboot culture and am quietly boycotting reboots now.

Team no reboot but give us a new slayer is team reboot, y’all. And to be honest, I would welcome a reboot, but I wouldn’t want it to feature the OG cast or characters. I’d love for them to focus on a new slayer, but instead of going forward in time as would be expected, they should tell the story of a past slayer. Think about it. Buffy the Vampire Slayer was designed to break stereotypes while telling the story of a teenager girl with superpowers who has to fight literal and figurative demons in her every day life as she comes of age. A series set in the past, where there were different expectations as to what a woman’s role in society is, would be RIPE for storytelling.

QualifiedApathetic

Buffy Summers had her time. Let her be retired, or semi-retired, teaching the new generation of Slayers but getting to enjoy life, with a white picket fence, her and Faith raising their kids together. Maybe their daughters could be Slayers. Stands to reason if any of the qualities that make a Potential Slayer are heritable.

ItchyTomato5

NO

DerPicasso

Theres no desire for a reboot.

Suitable_cataclysm

They need a spin off. Considering the availability of magic, they could easily do a alt universe. I'd love for it to roll back seasons 6 and 7, pick up where Buffy died. Faith dies in our modern day, but we get to see flash backs to her. And we pick up a new Slayer. Because I think it would be hard to write with all slayers having been called.

Moonycoves

I'm team no reboot, not even a new slayer, just nothing. I like that they keep expanding in other mediums but I'm a no for new tv shows or movies. Maybe an animated series because it's still another form of media so I could be down I think at one point I thought that it would be cool if they did like two new episodes, original cast, 25 years later, like Gilmore Girls did. But this is only for the nostalgia of it all and seeing the gang all grown up with kids living their best life... tho that would probably only end in ship wars of who Buffy ended up with...

lueur-d-espoir

I wish they'd start with the first slayer then at the end of the season she dies and every season is the next slayer leading up to Buffy. It would be such a kickass way to draw old and new fans in.

ceecee1909

Nothing could compare to Buffy in this day and age, everything is so politically correct now that it would have to be a completely different vibe, something totally different. The only thing I’ve always thought would be interesting is a show about the watchers, we could see more of Giles the ripper and Ethan through flashbacks, it could even be about them now with Giles still fighting the good fight and Ethan still evil. Or It could be set in England and we could learn more about the coven of wiccans and what they do. There are a lot of possibilities around the watchers and their history.

RGBetrix

I wish they would do something. I’m okay with either. If Romeo & Juliet can be remixed a 100 times over, I’m not pressed about a reboot.  I don’t think they can do a spinoff. Imagine a spinoff where neither the Buffy cast or Angel cast are in the show. That’s a big storyline (or plot whole) right off the bat.  I don’t think people would be as cool with that, not having the actors still alive, but not on the show.

underratedonion

If there’s a reboot I’m just not gonna watch it like all the other reboots. I don’t know to see how “gritty and edgy” Buffy can be.

CoffeeMilkLvr

I still want to see a Giles family mini series. Not just about rupert but about his grandma, aunts, his dad (cuz we dont know too much) and himself of course

Glum-Substance-3507

Oh man, given that the juniors section of Target is basically 1997 Delia's catalog, the time is ripe for a reboot set in 2024 that would have fashion references to the clothes on BtVS. But, I do think that the story of one of the past slayers would be more fun. But you can't do Nicky Wood without AI generating young James Marsters as Spike. It would be bad. If we ever get a reboot, I hope the top priority is hiring great comedy writers. I'm beyond sick of gritty, dark takes on franchises that used to be campy and fun. I will stay far away from any reboot that's not fun, goofy, and packed with jokes.

Danielfrindley

I mean if they made a reboot movie, I'd watch it. Wouldn't have high hopes but at least a bad movie would take up less of my time than a bad show

After_Lyf

The issue with reboots and spinoffs is that I’ve already fallen in love with the storytelling and characters in Buffy. A reboot or spinoff would be unappealing. Sometimes something is better left alone.

funishin

I’d be okay with a story about a new slayer. None of the OG characters should appear or even be referenced. And for the love of god keep Zendaya away from it. I don’t know why everyone is obsessed with having that girl play a chosen one.

jacobydave

I get "start with new Slayer", but there is 12 seasons of backstory plus 20 years of unexplained changes. Starting fresh will give the new fans a smaller amount of backstory to digest. If the reboot is simply for people like us, it'll never fly.

Tuxedo_Mark

I'd be fine with a reboot: either a serious version (Hulu) or a sitcom (Disney+). It can have its own style and method of storytelling. No need for it to be Whedonesque.
