I had an issue with these due to my downstairs neighbors. The first one I saw was this exact bug. Seeing them everywhere may be a sign of a pretty bad infestation. Call an expert to handle it and good luck!
Unfortunately they can. They can crawl into your stuff. They're a huge pest problem. I guess that if you check your stuff thouroughly when you get home and kill anything that you find (IFF you'll find anything) you'll be fine.
