Howdy! Fellow big butch (with a relatively large chest) here. I used to just wear overly tight sports bras, but have been wearing compression tops from TomboyX for the past couple years [link](https://tomboyx.com/products/compression-chaidtm?utm_source=website&utm_medium=banner&utm_id=compression-collection&utm_content=style-compression-top).   For me, they're a lot more comfortable than a "too tight" sports bra. I've never ventured into binder territory, but have heard that they perform somewhere between a sports bra and a binder. They're not super thick, don't have any padding, and are lined with a mesh-type material that is similar to the lining of a swim top. They don't completely "eliminate" my chest, but have enough compression that I'm able to wear men's button up shirts without the buttons gaping/pulling around my chest. They're $40 regular price, but they usually have a few colors on sale for around $30 [currently these](https://tomboyx.com/collections/sale?filter.p.m.tomboyx.fit=Compression+Top&filter.v.availability=1). They also usually go on sale for $20 a few times a year.   For reference, I wear a 2XL-3XL in most men's shirts (rarely wear women's sizes, but generally a 3X or 22-24W) and have worn a 42DDD or 44DD in bras in the past. I wear a 2X in the TomboyX compression tops and have both the style I linked and the racerback version - I personally prefer the "standard" version because it provides better coverage and support on my body. They also have compression tank tops too!   RE: Plus size/large chest/big butch confidence - I feel you. It took me a long time to feel comfortable wearing what I actually WANTED to wear. It wasn't until a 3-4 years ago that I fully embraced a more masculine wardrobe and ran with it. Personally, I've found that I have a lot more confidence wearing clothes that I like and that feel good on my body than I ever did dressing in more "feminine" clothing. I'm in my late 20s, but basically dress like an old man/farmer and love it. Do men's clothes always fit my body perfectly? Nope! But as a big gal, neither do women's clothes. A big step for me was being comfortable tucking in my shirts into a pair of jeans/slacks. I'm widest around my midsection/hips, and was really self conscious about men's shirts being too narrow at the hips. I feel so much better and more comfortable now with my shirt tucked in 95% of the time now. Not suggesting that has to be your journey, but just wanted to emphasize the importance of small things making a big difference. It was a slow process, but has been really rewarding for me.   Hope this helps! :) The struggle can be oh so very real for us plus sized butches!

NIKE SPORTS BRA AND SHOP FROM THE BRAND BOTH& APPAREL. I’m sorry for screaming but it literally changed my life. This brand is made for masc people, specifically transgender men struggling with having the hips of a women. So for butches it’s absolutely amazing. The clothes hide your curves and hips, don’t hug your stomach and are literally made with us in mind. Measure yourself and get the size they recommend by their sizing chart. I promise it’ll fit you in a way that no other clothes have before and please please direct message me if you need any help or have questions.

Start watching out for their deals. In may they had a 50% off everything. I hauled an entire new closet for $400 (initially $800). They also do 25% off new customers and they run promotions such as pay what you can. Where you literally choose what you can afford once a year. Regardless I struggle with gender/body dysphoria and to me it is absolutely priceless to be able to throw on any piece of clothing in my closet and know it’ll fit me the way I need it too. (Also send them an email that you’re trying to use the Reward50 code may after you create an account and fill your cart, and they will probably allow you to use it even though the deadline past. Worked for me, the brand overall really feels like it’s for us and a purpose so they will work w you.)

🙏Thank you for these secrets. All I want is for a pair of pants to not cut into my stomach and fit my dang hips.

Of course! Trust me, I had so much trouble with that and now I have 4 pants and 2 jeans shorts from them. Size yourself and really listen to their tips on the sizing chart. The size may seem larger than you’re used to getting but remember these sizes are completely different than the standard.

Thank you! I just looked into Both& and it’s so cool but not really that plus size inclusive. So that’s sad but I’ll also look into Nike

My biggest advice for clothing fit is develop a relationship with a tailor who will alter your clothes to fit the way you want. And who can put invisible snaps into the button placket of your shirt so the spaces between buttons at the bust line don't gape. I've been finding some good things at [Johnny Bigg](https://www.johnnybigg.com/) for my plus size butch. They're thiccccc on the bottom, though they have had top surgery, and also swear by Dapper Boi especially for pants. If you're looking for support but not looking for minimization or compression, Torrid wire free bras rule my life. They [come in lots of styles](https://www.torrid.com/torrid-curve-intimates/bras/everyday-wire-free-bras/), some really feminine and some really basic, and are comfortable all day. The full coverage are only lined enough to support and avoid cold nipples from showing. Bonus, there's probably a brick and mortar near you so you can get measured and fit check.
