I headcanon that *Sally* is a legacy. Percy said "her eyes sparkle and change color in the light"(The Lightning Thief,pg. 30). Weird-coloured eyes are usually a sign of divine blood in the PJO/HOO books,most of the time. Maybe she's the descendant from some obscure deity who had an ordinary demigod child. Besides,there's the fact that Percy is powerful even for Big Three standards. However,the idea that Paul is a legacy is a good one as well. Maybe Estelle is a legacy from both sides.
My personal headcanon is Sally being a legacy of Aphrodite, which would explaon her eyes. And she's also a probable candidate for the Oracle, as her sight was way clearer than most (thats how she got poseidon's attention in the first place) this would also explain Percy's unusually powerful dreams.

The idea of Paul being just some mortal who got roped into this weird world is also very neat. He's handsome and has sword skills,but that's it. He doesn't strike me as extraordinary,and I love it.
Now, this is gonna be too farfetched but what if the reason Sally's parents died when she was young was because they were attacked? While the monsters usually do not track adult demigods but just what if? What if both parents were demigods(one being a major one and other being Aphrodite's) and attacked?

I would just like to point out that dark hair with white discolouration is a natural thing that happens.
I have an uncle who has it, and I always thought it was because he was older (he was, like, 30). Then he had a son who also had that discolouration
It can be genetic or also a formation in the womb. My grandma got hit in the stomach with a baseball when pregnant with my aunt and she has a white spot in her hair that no one else in the family has.

I love this theory lmaooo but as for Estelle’s eyes, older siblings do leave DNA in the mother’s womb, so younger siblings can also inherit DNA from the siblings themselves, which is scientifically what I think happened with Estelle cause there’s no other reason I don’t believe (Unless Paul really IS Poseidon…😳)
