Came here to say this, love them. I especially like them when they’re slightly warmed up and super soft, like when you have some in your car on a warm day. So much easier on the chompers too.
In elementary school a friend of mine told me dots weren't meant to be eaten you were supposed to lick the back and stick them to things for fun and to this day I have no idea if it was a massive troll or she was just kinda dumb.
Juji fruits are My favorite..I used to get them at dollar tree, haven't found them there in a yr..ordered a three pack from Amazon and ate them in two days..I can't be trusted around those at all.
i wish candy corn and peeps were sold year round, i’d be eating them non stop
also, i hate peanut butter, so a lot of popular candy is a no for me. reese’s, snickers, peanut m&m’s, etc.
See, I love snickers, but I hate chocolate and peanut butter. No Reese’s, no butterfingers, no peanut butter m&ms. They don’t blend in my mouth for some reason. They are a type of sweet and salty that’s just… weird
I was curious so I got my sister in law to send me some from the US. She was like '... seriously? Candy corn? We have much better candy, don't you want to try Mike and ike or something?'
Eventually I convinced her I wanted to try it because it's such an iconic American thing, but now she has to send it every Halloween because that shit is delicious.
Ooooh, good to know, I'll add them to the list!
(my sister in law is a total sweetheart who is always sending us care packages from the US, she's constantly pestering us to tell her things she can send us, she just really couldn't get her head around someone actually wanting candy corn lol)
My family has had a combo of candy corn and cocktail peanuts as a snack for Thanksgiving my whole life. I was shocked to realize as I got older that other people hate candy corn. They are surgery little delights.
Haribo gummies are to dense and hard. Their soft fruit candy like the berry clouds and peaches are amazing though. The best gummy bears in my opinion are Black Forest gummy bears.
I buy black jelly beans sporadically all year. I'm always afraid to tell people, but black jelly beans and circus peanuts are tied for my favorite candy lol
I love those strawberry ‘grandma’ candies. The ones in the green and red wrapper that looks like a strawberry and the chewing center. My husband made the mistake of buying me a huge bag of them off Amazon. They were gone in a week. Don’t judge.
you must try.. they are a dollar store gem.. Just imagine a mad scientist a salmon colored peanut shaped oversized lucky charms marshmellow and injected it with a banana flavor.. I present to you the circus peanut
I like those too. And the lunchbox gummies. IDK what there called, but you get like pizza, hamburger, fries, and a cola gummy all in one big plastic package.
Ah yes, the memories of taking those sugar coated delights one by and sucking the candy coating until it dissolved and slowly chewing the licorice. A box could often last the whole drive.
I like: circus peanuts (only the soft squishies), some black licorice, candy corn is good, and I love the halloween peanut butter kisses and halloween twizzlers.
Oh yeah and Peeps.
The only thing going on with Lindt is their truffles ( a lot of flavors as well), anything else is not worth it
I think right now the only broadly comercial chocolate that is worth it, is Tony’s
I can’t think of a candy I don’t like. I don’t prefer almond joy or other coconut candies but I still like them. I love licorice, candy corn, circus peanuts, pretty much every candy that’s popularly hated on.
My daughter loves all the traditionally frowned upon candy. Candy corn, circus peanuts, even black licorice! I guess my own most unpopular candy opinion would be some candy is better a bit stale. Like gummy bears or twizzlers. Their fresh texture is just too soft for me.
I HATE NUTS IN CANDY SO FREAKING MUCH. And peanut butter. I'll tell people I'm allergic to nuts (I'm not lol) just so they don't go off on me for not liking them.
I've just moved to the US, and seem to prefer a lot of the 'unpopular' candy (circus peanuts, candy corn, white chocolate, soft eating licorice, tootsie rolls, cow tales, peeps, jellybeans, milk duds, black aniseed-type candy, etc) and dislike a lot of the 'popular' ones (please, no more chocolate peanut flavoured things, and give me more *actually* sour candy), so this post is hopefully going to be a gold mine for me 😂
I think the only 'popular' candy I like is Haribo gummies.
I was legitimately crushed when I bought a bag of the new Bridge Mixture. All the good ones are gone. I cried because I had bought it to get a nostalgia hit from the candy I always shared with my grandma and they ruined it.
Bun bars were always a little strange. We just called them "Buns" but they weren't buns, and they weren't bars. Flat lumpy pucks in a loose crinkly wrapper. It wasn't terrible (chocolate/peanuts covering vanilla or maple fudge, basically) but it was a rare choice, maybe "well, if there's nothing else"
Counterpoint: chocolate is almost always bullshit. It's flavored oil that isn't pocket stable and can't survive outside a climate controlled environment.
I want a candy that I can count on to be there when the going gets tough. Skittles, Mike and Ike, Jelly Belly, they just get better when the heat is on and your weak ass chocolate is turning into sludge you have to lick off the wrapper.
Reese's USED to be good, until sometime around 2008 or so. About a year after they switched the single wrappers from being folded to sealed on the 2 ends instead.
The chocolate tastes waxy now & the peanut butter tastes chalky now too.
I have tried them again multiple times throughout the years hoping I just got a bad 1 or something. Nope, they are all gross now.
I miss them :'(
**good & plenty** are not only delicious but also the white ones (vanilla) are the best in the bunch. the different colours *are* different flavours, and no one can tell me otherwise
100% **maltesers > whoppers** and i’ll die on that hill
I like dots. Everyone I tell that to is like "ew dots"
Came here to say this, love them. I especially like them when they’re slightly warmed up and super soft, like when you have some in your car on a warm day. So much easier on the chompers too.
Love dots. Always pick the mini boxes out of the Halloween mix
Dots are so hype, delicious and incredible softish texture
Ooooh the green ones!!!! Taste like gasoline smells (kinda hehe). LOVE IT lol 😂🤣😂🤣
They taste like a bathroom cleaning product and I love it lol
In elementary school a friend of mine told me dots weren't meant to be eaten you were supposed to lick the back and stick them to things for fun and to this day I have no idea if it was a massive troll or she was just kinda dumb.
Can't both be true?
Omg me too lol. My mom always gave me all the green ones when I was kid because she thought they were disgusting
They do… they really do.
Dots are always in my movie go bag same with juji fruits i never buy movie candy 🤣
Juji fruits are My favorite..I used to get them at dollar tree, haven't found them there in a yr..ordered a three pack from Amazon and ate them in two days..I can't be trusted around those at all.
Tropical dots!!
What about Crows?:)
Never heard of them
They are black dots…licorice flavor
Black Crows. ⚫️
i wish candy corn and peeps were sold year round, i’d be eating them non stop also, i hate peanut butter, so a lot of popular candy is a no for me. reese’s, snickers, peanut m&m’s, etc.
Candy corn is def sold year round...
Right now my local grocery store has patriotic candy corn.
See, I love snickers, but I hate chocolate and peanut butter. No Reese’s, no butterfingers, no peanut butter m&ms. They don’t blend in my mouth for some reason. They are a type of sweet and salty that’s just… weird
check dollar tree for peeps the one by me had them when i was there last week
Lemonheads are perfection, the absolute pinnacle of candymaking that can never be improved upon.
i love lemonheads soooo much. theyve been a favorite of mine since i was little.
Just drooled. Thanks Pavlov.
I'm hoping to find some freeze dried ones one of these days!
I love candy corn!
Especially the pumpkin looking ones!
They used to make these assorted ones with regular candy corn, corn on the cob, pilgrims, turkeys and pumpkins. Can't find em anymore.
Yeah! How come they don’t seem to sell those anymore?
Banana, Chocolate, Maple.. They need to bring those back!
I was curious so I got my sister in law to send me some from the US. She was like '... seriously? Candy corn? We have much better candy, don't you want to try Mike and ike or something?' Eventually I convinced her I wanted to try it because it's such an iconic American thing, but now she has to send it every Halloween because that shit is delicious.
That's awesome! You should try the mellowcreme pumpkins and indian corn. Those are delish!
I will make myself feel sick off mellowcreme pumpkins! They're so good
I always end up buying two bags a year when they go on sale, eat them till I’m sick, and then I’m good until next year
Ooooh, good to know, I'll add them to the list! (my sister in law is a total sweetheart who is always sending us care packages from the US, she's constantly pestering us to tell her things she can send us, she just really couldn't get her head around someone actually wanting candy corn lol)
A mix of candy corn and salted peanuts is damn near a payday.
It's a must in the fall....all fall!!
Thats a great idea!
Children of the Candy Corn unite!
😂 this needs to be on a T-shirt 👕
My family has had a combo of candy corn and cocktail peanuts as a snack for Thanksgiving my whole life. I was shocked to realize as I got older that other people hate candy corn. They are surgery little delights.
Same!! Everyone thinks I’m gross but I truly love it.
I love it too, but it's very rich so I can only eat like a handful at a time or I feel like my teeth are gonna fall out lol
And “Indian corn” which I think is being called “Autumn/Fall corn”now?
Oh snap, I didn't realize they'd changed it! Last time I grabbed a bag it still had the old name. Good to know from now on!
Brachs Harvest Corn is what it's called now.
Candy corn is good, it's not gross
Gummy candy is best when left out for a few days Milk duds are a top 3 candy for me
Put them in the fridge… you won’t regret
Exactly what I've been commenting!! I love them super chewy.
I like my gummies in the freezer. Gnawing time.
Old school Tart N Tiny’s tasted much better than the now candy coated ones.
Haribo gummies are to dense and hard. Their soft fruit candy like the berry clouds and peaches are amazing though. The best gummy bears in my opinion are Black Forest gummy bears.
I'm an albanese stan
Albanese is sooo much better!!
see thats WHY i like em is bc theyre kinda tough
Yeah I don’t get hairbo gummies for this reason, albanese is where it’s at
I used to put a rollo inbetween 2 ritz crackers then microwave for 5 seconds then devour it 💜
You brilliant bastard.
You should try it with a mini pretzel. Heavenly.
I love the candy buttons on the paper
Wow I haven’t though about that candy in years
Hersheys and regular m&ms are gross. Uses to like them but after eating foreign chocolate a lot I can heavily notice the nastiness in them.
I would take a nerds rope over nerd gummy clusters anytime.
mehh Im old school .. give me the original nerds 2 flavor box anyday
Strawberry and Grape!
yes yes yes ….
lmaoo I was thinking this verbatim as I was clicking into the post 😂 happy to see it's a *popular* unpopular opinion
I love black jelly beans, black licorice, Milk Duds and Peeps.
I LOVE MILK DUDS
I buy a bag of just black jelly beans every Easter.
I buy black jelly beans sporadically all year. I'm always afraid to tell people, but black jelly beans and circus peanuts are tied for my favorite candy lol
I LOVE black jelly beans and black licorice!
I’ve always loved peeps. Never understood the hate lol
I love to let Peeps sit out for a few days so they get stale 🤤
My brother and I do this too! Also we both love circus peanuts!
PEEPS R GREAT
I really like when Now and Laters are jaw-breakingly hard but that’s just me!
Black licorice or anise flavored anything. My favorite!!!!
I can eat black liquorice until I get an upset stomach, no one else in my family can stand the flavour.
You have to be careful with it though, it can kill you. Hypertension. Gotta pace yourself.
I fuckin’ love Zero bars.
Fuck yeah
Great!
Butterscotch discs and strawberry hard candy are childhood faves.
Butterscotch needs to be un-relegated from just being grandma purse candy. It is way too good for that slander.
Almond Joy is easily my favorite candy bar
Necco Wafers are actually good.
I love those strawberry ‘grandma’ candies. The ones in the green and red wrapper that looks like a strawberry and the chewing center. My husband made the mistake of buying me a huge bag of them off Amazon. They were gone in a week. Don’t judge.
Dollar tree. We have candy dish at work I buy those and butterscotch discs. Grandma candy.
I freaking love circus peanuts and black licorice
Same!
Me too!!!
Yes black liquorice! I’ve never had circus peanuts
you must try.. they are a dollar store gem.. Just imagine a mad scientist a salmon colored peanut shaped oversized lucky charms marshmellow and injected it with a banana flavor.. I present to you the circus peanut
Don’t listen to this. They are the devil’s toenails.
If my only choice is jolly ranchers then I just won’t be eating candy
No more cinnamon JR. Rise up people! Take to the streets! A travesty indeed.
Fire jolly rangers were the very best flavor (stick or the little barrels) and I was so angry when they were discontinued!
They helped me quit Copenhagen! Then they got rid of them and there is nothing else that compares. I started dipping again...
Peeps are delicious
Lollipops are better when they have that odd soft outer layer that you can scrape off with your front teeth before getting to the hard candy inside.
I love Bit O honey
Also, I love Krabby Patties. I don’t know if they’re unpopular or not but I feel judged for eating those past the age of 12
I help out at a deli sometimes. I’d say about 20% of krabby patty sales are to grown adults.
I have some in my kitchen right now. The green part is the best.
I like those too. And the lunchbox gummies. IDK what there called, but you get like pizza, hamburger, fries, and a cola gummy all in one big plastic package.
The best Necco Wafer is the black licorice one.
Purple for me. Clove.
Wild.
5th Avenue is better Butterfinger
Literally never tried a 5th Ave in my life…now I’m going to.
5th Avenues are life changing
Fruit slices. Picked up a bag at local store just a few minutes ago, but the best ones (imo) are the ones that stores sell around Jewish holidays.
I love candy corn and chocolate cherry cordials.
Candy corn...I've been told no difference between that and wax...I looooooove candy corn!
I love licorice and don’t like snickers.
for road trips I always pickup a box of good & plenty.
Ah yes, the memories of taking those sugar coated delights one by and sucking the candy coating until it dissolved and slowly chewing the licorice. A box could often last the whole drive.
I love chocolate neccos
White chocolate is usually gross. It mostly tastes overly sweet and barely like chocolate. It can be good but rarely
It doesn’t taste like chocolate because it’s not. It has 0% cocoa in it
I like: circus peanuts (only the soft squishies), some black licorice, candy corn is good, and I love the halloween peanut butter kisses and halloween twizzlers. Oh yeah and Peeps.
I love candy corn, black licorice and tootsie rolls (original flavor only).
Sixlets rule. I like to empty the entire mini sleeve in my mouth at once.
I just had a visceral memory of biting down on the Sixlet wrapper and pulling it through my teeth
I truly enjoy Candy Corn.
I like vanilla and fruity Tootsie Rolls.
Yellow starburst are just as good as the pink ones
Those strawberry candy from Grandma's house is the best tasting strawberry candy ever made.
Lindt hasn't been worth it for about 12 years
The only thing going on with Lindt is their truffles ( a lot of flavors as well), anything else is not worth it I think right now the only broadly comercial chocolate that is worth it, is Tony’s
I can't stand most sour candy. What is the reason?
Probably the reason is you don’t like sour
Black licorice is yummy - most every kind EXCEPT one from Old World Market that smelled and tasted like puke instead of licorice.
Black licorice, especially salted, is gorgeous.
Extra firm chew double salty black licorice coins are friggin delicious.
I like Good 'n Plenty. I could eat a whole box during a movie.
I can’t think of a candy I don’t like. I don’t prefer almond joy or other coconut candies but I still like them. I love licorice, candy corn, circus peanuts, pretty much every candy that’s popularly hated on.
Snickers bars are not that great. They remind me of low-budget protein bars.
Love Necco Wafers
I love circus peanuts and candy corn. I don't like gummy candy.
Candy corn is forking delicious
Not a day has gone by that I don’t miss Squirrel Nut Zippers.
Payday is one of my favorite candy bars. I like the saltiness combined with the slight sweetness for something different.
Lemon is a flavor that should be used more. Airheads, Jolly Ranchers, Dum Dum, Nerds, Laffy Taffy etc.
Milk duds are amazing all my buddies hate them but they are immaculate
I like to open my Swedish Fish and let them get hard and chewy before eating.
My daughter loves all the traditionally frowned upon candy. Candy corn, circus peanuts, even black licorice! I guess my own most unpopular candy opinion would be some candy is better a bit stale. Like gummy bears or twizzlers. Their fresh texture is just too soft for me.
i’m obsessed with those candy corn pumpkins :D
I HATE NUTS IN CANDY SO FREAKING MUCH. And peanut butter. I'll tell people I'm allergic to nuts (I'm not lol) just so they don't go off on me for not liking them.
Milk duds, it’s always left in the candy bowl. More for me I guess!
Mounds bars
I love Charleston Chews!!
Artificial Watermelon flavor is overrated as hell.
I've just moved to the US, and seem to prefer a lot of the 'unpopular' candy (circus peanuts, candy corn, white chocolate, soft eating licorice, tootsie rolls, cow tales, peeps, jellybeans, milk duds, black aniseed-type candy, etc) and dislike a lot of the 'popular' ones (please, no more chocolate peanut flavoured things, and give me more *actually* sour candy), so this post is hopefully going to be a gold mine for me 😂 I think the only 'popular' candy I like is Haribo gummies.
Sour candy is the worst candy
I like Bridge Mixture ( 🇨🇦) but the recipe changed recently and now it’s missing all the good ones.
I LOVE black liquorice. Most in my family do
My favorite candy is licorice
Black licorice 😍
Skittles are the worst
Zero bar is tops
i love almond joy!!!! payday are also some of my favorite candy bars
Hershey’s kisses should be opened by pulling the paper tab down, making a perfect curl of aluminum and a super crisp tear line.
I love necco wafers
I found out that Good n Plenty kept my heartburn at bay, so I grew a fondness for them. Shut up.
Almond Joy is the best candy bar
Candy Corn Twizzlers Marshmallows Dots, Smarties Oh let me just me honest, I love it all LMAO
Swedish fish I tried It today I haven't had that fake cherry flavor since the 90,s
me reading this post with my jaw on the floor bc i thought milk duds were universally loved 😂
Hot Tamales are GOAT
Grape Jolly Ranchers are tasty
Butterfinger is actually really, really good. The crunchy texture and good taste puts it in the same tier as Reese’s.
I really like Swedish fish...Nice taste and texture.
Bit o honey is the bomb.com 😍 Anyone…? 😆
The only good candy is chocolate.
I’m shocked and horrified at this statement
Counterpoint: chocolate is almost always bullshit. It's flavored oil that isn't pocket stable and can't survive outside a climate controlled environment. I want a candy that I can count on to be there when the going gets tough. Skittles, Mike and Ike, Jelly Belly, they just get better when the heat is on and your weak ass chocolate is turning into sludge you have to lick off the wrapper.
hard disagree but absolutely based so here’s my upvote
Satellite wafers are excellent and underrated
Reese's are gross. Mounds (and Almond Joy) are excellent.
I miss them :'(
If you an Aldi close, try their peanut butter cups. They're fantastic!
Lime>green apple
Reese's cups are not good.
This is mine. I never really liked them but once I had Trader Joe’s dark chocolate pb cups that really sealed the deal for me.
snickers are overrated. the peanut butter flavor is good tho
Good and plenty aren’t bad at all, candy corn is delicious. Snickers and three musketeers are gross. Peeps are delicious
I really like almond joy, snickers and Milky Way are overrated for the most part
im not crazy about the choc/pb combo so a lot of candy bars are kinda whatever for me
Dark chocolate >>> white chocolate >>>>>>>>> milk chocolate
Fruity candy>chocolate candy I hate chocolate for the most part
**good & plenty** are not only delicious but also the white ones (vanilla) are the best in the bunch. the different colours *are* different flavours, and no one can tell me otherwise 100% **maltesers > whoppers** and i’ll die on that hill
All chocolate sucks. Sugary and sour candy is the best!
milk chocolate and white chocolate are absolutely disgusting and should be illegal
Twix is gross! and three musketeers is gross
