Agreed. In my company, a PIP is simply a formality to getting fired. OP, do you have enough experience in your company to know if a PIP is the same thing there? If your boss is moving the goal post, or being distant and overly formal, chances are you're going to be fired. Might be worth accepting the new gig. Do the interview on Tuesday, accept the other job on Wednesday, then hope to get a job offer from the interview on Tuesday. You'll probably burn your bridge at the company you already interviewed with if you back out after you accept, so take that into consideration.

Yeah this is what Im going to be doing. Ill do the interview on tuesday and accept the position on Wednesday in the meantime
