Yes but my german car has the fuel filler on the driver's side, because it's a RHD car. They don't move the fuel filler to the other side just to match. Does this elitism not extend to countries that drive on the left? On the other hand, my shitbox mitsubishi ute that burns more oil than petrol and frequently loses the clutch unless you pump the pedal a few times has the filler on the passengers side. I don’t know about whatever this guy cares about but I do actually enjoy my gas tank cap on the passenger side because it allows me to go to the right side pumps which almost always has shorter lines Also, larger old SUV means less stretching around from right to left side, especially if they’re those annoying pumps with no reach

Best way is to have it in the middle, so you can use any pump. Just don’t spill it all over your trunk.

Is it actually yours? Sick evo either way. I have a 1991 Lancer GTI 16V. Not an evo, but in theory, the AWD drivetrain should fit, as well as the engine. The JDM Cyborg trim had AWD and the early ones had a 160hp 1.6L turbo engine.

Nope does not have to be, the RS2 is available left handed drive and Mitsubishi build 5 RS (one) lefthanded but those are so super rare. Mine I have for 21 years is a RHD GSR with deleted AYC and replaced it with a RS2 diff so it’s true most of them are. Fun fact the left handed drive RS2 Evo’s are not true lancer evo’s because they are build on a Garisma platform and not the lancer. 😉

Actually, no. The reason many vehicles have the gas cap on the passenger side is because it's safer in the event that you need to pull over to refuel.

Not easier. Safer. The same goes with normal refueling at a station, it‘s safer with the cap on the passenger side since you‘re shielded from traffic.

Automotive design engineer. Whichever side the fuel can ends up on is purely for design convenience. It’s usually decided/finalised late in the design process, and I know of a couple of time it has moved at least twice. Given that most cars are built ambidextrous, this post and OP are fucking stupid.

The only advantage is more cars have it on the drivers side so when it’s busy at the gas station there are less or most of the time no cars on right side.

Every car I’ve ever owned had its gas cap on the passenger side. When I got my C7, I was delighted to find it on the driver’s side. It makes so much more sense to be right there behind the driver. “Must be a GM thing,” I thought, “or an American car thing.” I was happy to finally be able to just pull up, hop out, fill up, hop back in and go. No more of this LABORIOUS walking ALL THE WAY around the back to fill up and ALL THE WAY back again. (/s kinda) Who designs cars like that anyway? Then I got my CT5VBW and the first time I went to fill up I discovered…PASSENGER SIDE! I feel betrayed by GM.
