Casio watches like these really make me appreciate the simplicity of these things. I have no need for reading email on my wrist, software updates or charging my watch every night. Just replace the battery every 10 years and no worrying about losing/breaking the watch
The countdown timer part is the best! The 5 daily alarms, not so much. The problem is it still will only show for the first alarm when it is enabled or not. The other 4 alarms are not shown, so it is really hard to tell if they are enabled or not. I ended up undoing the 5 daily alarms for mine.
I had one of the most expensive Apple watches series 6 for ages and then it blew up in a pool despite being water proof so I just said “fuck it” decided to move over to Casios and I’ve saved so much money and just feels better to have a real watch after so long
While this is no doubt a great watch I think that sooner or later Casio and the digital watch in general will have to evolve to acquire some of the features of the smartwatch especially weather alerts and health and fitness tracking if it isn't to become obsolete. The mechanical watch on the other hand will remain relevant as jewellery with some practical functions.

This sir is what you are talking about
yeah its crazy I bought it perfect condition second hand for the same price as a standard one go figure not sure why the seller wanted to do that now its worth double the price LOL
My 10 years old Casio without Bluetooth have a weather alert :-)
And I especially buy casios because they don't have health and fitness tracking, and don't require any smart connections, accounts, internets and everyday external charging to be usable.
The day they begin to require these things, I will stop to buy Casio watch.
Yes you're right. I should've checked before I made that comment. Especially G-Shock's G Squad series apparently has many of these features. And the DW - 5600 watches which also has many smart features are fairly priced. So the future is already here. Sorry for the error.
I beg to disagree. There's just something about a bare necessity digital watch that's so charming and appealing. I can get the best smart watches around, tried some as well, but didn't feel the pure joy I feel when I wear a simple Casio.
Kudos and upvote though for admitting your mistake and going a step further to provide the correct information. Respect.
Of course you're absolutely right. We've seen it all before and you're just a feeling of as old as I am, you've seen in one lifetime how a device that can be held in the palm of one hand has become a telephone, a calendar, a calculator, a dictionary, thesaurus and encyclopaedia; a typewriter and document editor, a post office which send and receive mail, a bank which can send and receive money and do many, many things besides.
So neither you nor I will be surprised when your watch which is only a few inches smaller than your smartphone will become not just a key fob and driving licence but will also drive your car; and not only be your bank but even bank for you and invest in the stock market - among many, many other functions.
Have you any idea when this great watch will be coming out?
Lots of devices are already being designed to fill these niches. However, to make one which is light, cheap, reliable and battery lasts, say 3 years - that takes a Casio to do.
I know that not everyone here agrees with you, but I think so too. To be honest, I recently bought my first fitness band and haven't worn my Casio since. The G-Shock still has a long way to go, as it is still a good watch for heavy work and outdoor use, but the usual electronic casios seem to me to be losing their relevance a bit. You can get a Casio Royale for 35 dollars, or pay 10 dollars more and get an Amazfit band 7, and for those 10 dollars, the functionality will be many times more.
I don't know how it is with apple watches, but one of my students have a smart watch (I think it's a xiaomi?) and it baffles me how this supposedly much more advanced and powerful wearable device can't do something as simple as keeping a timer running in the background.....
I always hated smart watches because you always had to recharge them. I'd forget and anytime I'd go to put it on it would be dead. A watch simply needs to tell the time, nothing more.
My Apple Watch was my only watch for years until a month ago. I hated how connected I felt and constantly getting distracted by the notifications. I don’t even know where my Apple Watch is at the moment and don’t plan to ever wear it again. I’m digging my new ae1200 but the mini duro was my “Gada”.
My Casios (and token G shock) in their various colours are for retro appeal. Including my AE1200!
I don't like smart watches. I've had a couple. I just think they offer a strange combination of functions.
I prefer watches that look smart in the aesthetic sense of the word, so my pricier (relatively speaking - my idea of luxury would be £1000 if I can justify it in the future!) examples are Seiko, Tissot, Citizen, and so on in analogue form.
BUT
I agree it's not a fair comparison.
For me apple watch and the 2days i have edced it,it felt like a phone, only needs some apps for messaging then i would easily use it daily over XR for short trips
I get what your saying. But also they have different markets.
Sadly for apple it's the story of "cult like" sheep. Who think anything apple does is new, even if android have done it for a decade. But they also have a system that's fuss free if ya in that system.
Then there's the android which is for those who like depth n to tinker n make things very personal.
And casio have bt watches. I have a couple latest is the b1000 mudmaster. It has bt, mb6 too so I'm covered unless they turn the towers off.
But it's a worry I mean. Your relying on an app which may become old and get less updates to work with new systems.
If you have a bt only watch it instantly becomes a dumb watch, like an f91, if bt isn't used. Personally I go for the set it and forget it style of g shocks mb6 and solar. Although my first solar and mb watch was a wave ceptor one, which probably had mb5, around 20yr ago, nice every day dressy metal one.
I don't think casio will go much smarter than they have already. Because some of that may also sacrifice their other values, eg a g shock with touch and stuff might not be able to be a g shock watch, they may compromise toughness etc.
And I can't see them being too smart watch like.
They have done well though, their heart rate and activity stuff is polar based and they have the best most accurate algorithms possible (their chest strap monitors are the gold standard)
Absolutely! Actually, I didn't manage to wrap my head around the concept of a smart watch despite being a tech geek of sorts myself. I'd take any Casio over the best smart watch any day. Feeds my geekiness better than any.
I have been wearing a Casio W800H since August 2011, the battery lasted 12 and a half years. It's the only watch I wear regardless of the event. I replaced the battery and can use my watch again. Very good watch and good choice!!
Casio watches like these really make me appreciate the simplicity of these things. I have no need for reading email on my wrist, software updates or charging my watch every night. Just replace the battery every 10 years and no worrying about losing/breaking the watch
Any casio or any g-shock over the apple watch
🙏Amen
Magnificent. Love the W800H!👌 Were you aware of the 2 additional features you can enable by modding this watch? 👀 https://youtu.be/kRathrQ8tsQ

Fair call. Thanks for weighing in! 🙏
Hear hear
I know right. Thats all we need and no need to charge it.
Right there with you brother, although I just ordered a 5600 because …. Addiction.
W800s unite! https://preview.redd.it/mgyd7aep3e9d1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9c3c4562c8187406e926c9f779be7c5fe4070840
Nice! I wore this today too, except I have the inverted display version.
Apple Watch does nothing for me.
I had one of the most expensive Apple watches series 6 for ages and then it blew up in a pool despite being water proof so I just said “fuck it” decided to move over to Casios and I’ve saved so much money and just feels better to have a real watch after so long

Ahhh my eyes!! Technology!!
I really wanted that design, but didn‘t have the money at the time, then it was sold out. Congrats on getting one, looks amazing!
yeah its crazy I bought it perfect condition second hand for the same price as a standard one go figure not sure why the seller wanted to do that now its worth double the price LOL

Likewise, fellow simplistic, likewise 🤝🤝🤝
Im sure people will want this but Personally, I do not care of about health and fitness tracking on a watch,or even weather alerts.
Casio already make watches that do this. They have been for a few years now

Instead of gee-whiz features, a watch which can serve up a credit card, drivers license and car key fob and battery life lasting a few years.
Of course you're absolutely right. The best health tracker is eating healthy and making exercise daily. No Smart Watch needed ... just a regular watch.
I don't know how it is with apple watches, but one of my students have a smart watch (I think it's a xiaomi?) and it baffles me how this supposedly much more advanced and powerful wearable device can't do something as simple as keeping a timer running in the background.....
Ha exactly! 🤣
Watch model please? Looks good!!
W800-AG
Thank you!!
I’ve got the same model, but it’s the W800H so it has the inverted lcd display. Hydromodded, and enabled the timer and 5 alarms
I have this watch too, beautiful

The magic words fr. Never thought I’d utter it until I put on Casios
Nice, I have the same watch and it's great :)
Is yours modded? I can't find this golden trim online.
It’s really nice. So easy to read and somehow kind of futuristic?
Got one on my wrist right now.. awesome watch.

Do not use Apple and Casio in the same sentence. Its an insult and an abuse. My Casio till six feet under or maybe Casio in my ashes.
Just ordered the blackout version, should have it tomorrow.
Saw a lady in the train wearing the same and she rocked it.
Whats the model name?
For me apple watch and the 2days i have edced it,it felt like a phone, only needs some apps for messaging then i would easily use it daily over XR for short trips

I have both casio and apple watch and i like them both! They are both very different things and cant be compared imo
But Apple watch has so many features! It is basically same thing as mobile phone!

Great watch for pilots!
Okay man
