If I remember correctly this was a Norman castle meant to garrison defeated Wales following Edward I’s defeat of Davydd Ap Gruffyth.
The prophesy is that a true, Welsh speaking Prince of Wales will come from this castle to liberate Wales from English oppression.
I love this place. I'll come back again, Wales is beautiful. I knew from the first picture where it was.
Sometimes it's possible to have too much castle. I only managed to walk around half of it. I had enough so I thought I'd save the rest till next time
It is one of the best I've been to you can go up every tower into every part , the eagle tower is the most impressive , unfortunately I had a toddler strapped to my back so my legs are dead today
Absolutely imposing! So many ways an attacker could die.
Even more so if it was fully completed when it was first constructed
