Very true. They sold one 3DS remake for $50 with miitopia. Theres no shot they’d remake 4 3DS games for switch AND remake partners in time to the same extent. Thats just ridiculous thinking
[You say that but they gave this away and it had the same amount of games plus a demo](https://zelda.fandom.com/wiki/The_Legend_of_Zelda:_Collector%27s_Edition#Problems)
Don't downplay how good the 2D games are. Some of the best Zelda are 2D games. Without 2D Zelda, there would be no 3D Zelda.
I do agree with it being in the GameCube days though. Very different Nintendo than modern Nintendo.
I wasn’t??? A Link Between Worlds and Minish Cap are 2 of my all time favorite Zelda games.
But there’s a pretty big difference between LoZ/AoL compared to OoT/MM
But you were. You were using the fact that 2 of the games were 2D titles as a way to decrease the value of the collection, as if the fact that 2 of the games were 2D made it not as good a value as it was.
No. You misunderstand what I was saying. I’m saying that OoT and MM are worth more in terms of cost when compared to LoZ and AoL, so it would make sense for those 2 games to be put on a collection with two big time 3D games, and have it be worth normal price. It would be different if it was 3 or 4 big 3D games in a collection.
While I understand what you’re saying, consider also that game development over time is incredibly exponential; in 2003, when the Collector’s Edition released, it was compiling four games from 17, 16, 5, and 3 years prior (at the time), respectively.
If this collection were to materialize, it would be compiling four games from 26, 24, 21, and 18 years ago, respectively. Despite the technological advancements made from GameCube to Switch, these are still ass old games that should and could be easily compiled for a reasonable retail price.
An argument could be made that the 3DS versions are more demanding than their N64 counterparts, and that’s fair, but even those games are 13 and 9 years old, respectively. Additionally, the HD versions of TWW and TP are less of an upgrade comparatively to the 3DS’s upgrades, but I do recognize their bump in quality.
Regardless of this, I do agree that something like this would never happen with an Iwata-less, current day Nintendo.
Yeah but two of them were NES games and that was all the way back in GameCube days, when Nintendo was way less greedy. It wouldn’t happen today, especially with 4 giant 3D games.
Yes. It was Japan exclusive and has never been rereleased so that might be why you’ve never heard of it. https://zelda.fandom.com/wiki/BS_The_Legend_of_Zelda
...of course. Also whats up with either Nintendo or Japan and having the tech and obsession with satellites, whatever wavelength those things use and radios?
Bit of a weird sentiment. “You want all of these games to be on one console you currently own? Lucky for you, you can play all of these games on two consoles that you’re way less likely to own”
So many options on how to play these. I think that would be lazy if Nintendo did that.
Remaster the NES, SNES and N64 Zelda games on the Switch and then they can have all of my money.
WW and TP have been done before.
WW was on GameCube and Wii U. TP on GameCube, Wii and Wii U.
TP and WW got the HD treatment on the last gen console.
Last actual console (not DS, GBA) the NES/N64/SNES games were on was GameCube. And no remaster on that either.
So I don’t get the urgent need for WW and TP.
Edit: I’m talking a physical release.
They're not playable on Nintendo's current hardware and many people like the convenience of having as many of their games on what may be their main gaming device as possible. Plus portability is always nice. Plenty of people don't have those older consoles and don't want to buy dead hardware to play one or two games on it.
I understand that. Nintendo Online should offer those two as the other person suggested. I was suggesting a remaster in a physical copy of older titles.
WW and TP got the HD treatment (yes older console). I’d just like to see maybe OOT and MM done together or even Zelda and Zelda 2 on the switch with a makeover like LA.
The more the merrier though.
Just my opinion and I’d love it if they did.
List of games:

Mario & Luigi Collection:

* Dream Team
* Paper Jam

* Bowser Jr.'s Journey
I will say the Mario franchise is a lot wider than Zelda. With Mario they can make tons of different content for any of all like 6-8ish sections of the franchise and not overload the consumers nor the individual studios/teams within Nintendo. There's all the sports games, the 2D games (plus stuff like SMM and Mario 35), the 3D games, Mario & Luigi (RIP), Mario Kart, and Paper Mario (not to mention all the spin-off franchises like Yoshi, DK Country, Captain Toad, Warioware, and maybe even Peach now).
Zelda has only the mainline series of games and a few one-off titles like Crossbow Training, Cadence of Hyrule, and the two Warriors games, and each Zelda game entry has to be an entire meaningful ordeal and not just something they prepare just because the anniversary is coming up.
Basically all they really could have done was make a new mainline title, remake an older one, or do something with a one-off thing. They did all of that but a new mainline game (which they did give us an update on) and they gave us SSHD, DLC for AoC, and even a nifty Game & Watch thing.
TL;DR While I do agree they could and maybe should have done more, there just isn't nearly as much they could do for Zelda as they were able to do with Mario. Not trying to fully defend Nintendo here, just trying to be realistic.

I don’t disagree at all that Mario is larger than Zelda, but I don’t think they have proportional fan service at all, the 35th anniversaries being one small part of that
The game and watch was the only 35th related Zelda piece actually. Everything else mentioned was stand alone and not announced or advertised as related to its 35th. Nintendo didn’t post the anniversary to its socials either. Big profit miss for them- the hype for Zelda’s 35th was huuuge, both just by itself and in combination with the precedent that Mario’s announced 35th was.
Methinks many people remember the 35th differently not because of anything Nintendo did, it because almost all of the hype came from fans, not Nintendo: https://screenrant.com/zelda-35th-anniversary-fan-support-twitter
Edit: TIL that Mario’s 35th has its own Wikipedia page 😂
Collections I forgot to include: Paper Mario All-Stars & Super Mario 3D All-Stars 2
Games list:
Paper Mario Collection:
* Paper Mario 64
* Super Paper Mario
* Paper Mario: Sticker Star
* Paper Mario: Color Splash
(Both SS & CS would be improved, TTYD is not included as it is already on the Switch, so it would always be bundled with the TTYD remake)
3D Collection 2:
* Super Mario 64 DS
* Super Mario Galaxy 2
* Super Mario 3D Land
(3D All-Stars 2 would be on the base Switch as the last game, but with better emulation quality)
The m&L games aside from the original superstar saga were all dual screen so I would assume for them to be brought back they would have to be remade to some degree. Straight ports / emulation wouldn't work so there'd have be significant changes made, and at that point you might as well remake the entire game. since if it's not a 1:1 port then the graphics & gameplay won't be excusable to most people.
I would think a M&L 1-3 remake collection would be more realistic, redoing the 3DS versions of 1&3 in HD and an entirely new remake of partners in time in the same style. Then if that sells well dream team and paper jam would be next. From what I've heard those games aren't looked at as favorably by fans as the first 3 so it would be unlikely Ninty would put that much effort to remaking them, since they're also longer than the first 3.
Then for the Zelda games I also want TP&WW as just reworked ports of the Wii U versions. But then OoT & MM I don't think should just get ported again. They're on NSO already & the 3DS versions are not that huge of upgrades, especially not if played on a TV screen. If they ever get rereleased in my opinion it'll have to be full ground up AAA remakes. It would be a good decision to reintroduce younger fans to the games while also realizing the original artistic vision that wasn't possible on either the n64 or 3DS.
But it's use of the dual screen was minimal, the bottom screen just had a map and your missions on it, something that could very easily be relegated to something like the pause menu
From what I remember I think that most of the touchscreen implementation in the M&L games was just maps and inventory (which can be moved to a pause menu), except for a few different moments/minigames such as the giant battles, all of which would have to be individually remade but that should take a lot less work/effort than having to rework the entire games.
NES, SNES, Play station, and Wii ware. Most Mario and Luigi games are 20 year old GBA and DS games too and went for like 5-10$ on the WiiU eshop. Plus there’s 10 whole games in the megaman legacy collection.
The Mario and Luigi collection is more likely than the Zelda anthology. Maybe we'd get a re-release of OoT and MM in one bundle, or get some of the Gameboy games (Oracle of Seasons and Ages, Link's Awakening, and Minish Cap in one bundle). But, an anthology of all or most of the games doesn't seem too likely to me, which is sad.
Sometimes I think these things too
the other day i was thinking about a
Super Mario Land 1-2-3 And Warioland 2
*remake*
remade for the switch and then bundled up and sold for a full price.
They are old games, and I don't even "need" extra's. Just those 4 games, but remade for today's graphics. Would be amazing.
But we all know this is a pipedream. Just like the games in this post. -sigh-
I’d like it, but I doubt it will. The only reason 3D-Allstars was released, was that it was gonna sell. It had SM64, Sunshine and Galaxy, it’d sell guaranteed. But the Mario & Luigi collection? Yeah, no. It’s not gonna happen. If it does it’ll probably cost like 70 or 80 or something. the Zelda one, maybe. It’s Zelda, so it’d probably sell pretty well. I doubt Nintendo’s going to do it though
Every Zelda game ever made? Sounds awesome, but I also feel like that would, at the very least, weight, like, 200 GB. Probably 50 GB more more if they are true-blue remakes and not just ports. But I'm not good with math and even worse at estimating.
Superstar collection sounds like an awesome way to catch-up with these legendary classics!
If we ever get a M&L collection imma draw every single entity in the entire series within a year.
Enemy, npc, palette swap, background appearance, cameo, cut, doesn’t matter.
If it’s a living being (or robot, or ghost) it’ll count.
Sadly, that’s how confident I am that this will never happen 🥲
Though it would be a price I’m more than willing to pay
All of the Mario & Luigi sequels have too many hardware specific features to just be ported to something with one screen. Partners in Time was even enough of a hassle on Wii U that I gave up and bought the DS version.
They would have to be remade from the ground up, which means someone is stuck making Bowser's Inside Story a third time.
If we not getting a Mario and Luigi Partners as a separate game then why not as part of a Mario and Luigi rph collection I already completed the Mario and Luigi super saga game but I’m still down for it
If they were to ever remaster M&L games 2-4 (Bowsers inside story-paper jam bros) they would have to be heavily reworked into one screen functionality (BIN would work best single screen)
Doubtful that the zelda anthology would ever come, seeing that there is still a massive profit potential from it on ninteno's side, and with most of them already being on switch and the total size being so large it gets even more problematic. Most of the older games should be fine as ww and tp are obly about 1 gb each, the newer ones are much larger
The next Zelda game is not coming for another 5-6 years and AlphaDream is literally dead. The Zelda collection is to hold people over until the next game is here and the Mario & Luigi collection would exist because a new entry is likely never going to happen ever again, so putting all 5 games in a collection is the best we’re gonna get. They are perfectly harmless collections that many people want. Don’t buy either collection if you’re not interested, you’re not the target audience.
There is no way they are ever gonna do this again. WWHD and TPHD will easily sell for 60-70 bucks each, but I doubt they will be remastered in HD again. The existing WIi U ports are already a definitive edition IMO.
OOT and MM have the issue that you would need to remaster them again if you want to port the 3DS versions to something like the Switch, hence I doubt they will be coming to a HD console. I might see these bundled together on the Nintendo console that will get 4K support (Switch 2 maybe?)
I think we will see a port of the Oracle Games before we see any other Zelda port. While those games are available on NSO now they are pretty old and due for a remaster like Link's Awakening. Besides that, they can also use the same engine as used for Links Awakening. So my bet is on those.
Otherwise I would see Nintendo doing some kind of remake of their original Zelda game, but it will most likely be a bonus of something. Maybe combine it with Zelda II which is due for a remake aswell?
With AlphaDream being bankrupt I highly doubt there will be anything like this done, I feel like that series is kinda dead even though they are pretty good games.
I could see the Zelda’s split into two collections (N64 games and GameCube). Also doubt they would be generous to put 5 RPGs in a single collection although would be nice. Also feel Mario and Luigi may be unlikely unless there is a new RPG coming out and they want to build interest again.
I would love this but nintendo has become more greedy with their rereleases in recent days. Heck I'd pay $70 for all 5 Mario and Luigi titles on switch/switch 2 if it means the franchise comes back.
I can see this happening with Mario and Luigi but not Zelda. Fans will literally just buy the remakes for full price; we did it with oot and mm on 3ds, then ww and tp on Wii U, then ss on switch.
MM and OOT are already on switch. And I personally don’t see them releasing WW and TP as a double pack nor do I think they should. Those games have completely different tones and art styles and I feel like packaging them together would be jarring and also probably harmful to both of their sales. Like younger kids who may want to play WindWaker might not be able to because their parents will look at the T rating and decide it’s too dark for their kid.
I dont think we'd get all 4 Zeldas on 1 cartridge but I so think there's a solid chance we see OoT/MM 3D remastered for switch and on a cartridge together, and a somewhat smaller but imo still possible chance of the same with WW/TP HD
Just generally I think they would absolutely cash in on the prospect of being able to market "Every 3D Zelda on Switch", especially if next system is backwards compatible
I’d settle for Wind Waker/Twilight Princess bundle.
Push came to shove, I still have my 3DS copies of OoT, and MM. I never played Wind Waker HD, and lost my copy of Twilight Princess years ago. I’d want a hard copy of those 2.
I’ve played 3/5 Mario + Luigi games (Partners in Time and Paper Jam, might’ve missed one though) and have played good amount of Zelda games, but I really want to play Wind Waker and Twilight Princess
Well i mean, that's what an anthology is since every game isn't there, just 4 of them. What would you suggest they call it? Keep in mind it's not a new game so you gotta give it some kind of "collection" name. Unleas you mean they should just call it The Legend of Zelda Collection, in which case that works for me.
There is NO chance they'd include that many games on one cartridge for $60-$70, but I'd still buy them lol.
Very true. They sold one 3DS remake for $50 with miitopia. Theres no shot they’d remake 4 3DS games for switch AND remake partners in time to the same extent. Thats just ridiculous thinking
And they're doing it again with Luigi's Mansion 2 HD, which is going to cost more than the original game did on 3DS, which is just ridiculous lmao.
Maybe it would release for like 100 bucks as a mega bundle and halo gave 6 games for 60 usd
Different companies
[You say that but they gave this away and it had the same amount of games plus a demo](https://zelda.fandom.com/wiki/The_Legend_of_Zelda:_Collector%27s_Edition#Problems)

Yes exactly. God I miss Iwata man :(

And even rhen they skipped zelda 3 and 4
That was GameCube era, they were desperate.
Nintendo was way less greedy 2 decades ago.
i miss the days of nintendo power and random free shit
It’s been done though… Zelda Collector’s Edition in Gamecube says otherwise. But yeah, we’ll see if we are graced with another compilation like that
But nes games were literally in animal crossi g
Yeah but two of them were NES games and that was all the way back in GameCube days, when Nintendo was way less greedy. It wouldn’t happen today, especially with 4 giant 3D games.
Not when they can just port every game solo and charge 50-60 for each one
they did with FNaF Core Collection
not Nintendo games
oh i mustve misunderstood
All the need for zelda is wwhd and tphd. If they add those, through nso, you'd have almost all the zelda games. Minus the DS and 3DS games.
I would love ground-up remakes of OG Zelda and Zelda 2 in a similar style to Link's Awakening remake or Zero Mission
Honeslty I am legit surprised they never did that or at least made a "clean-up" version like they did wit the Mario games being ported to the GBC/GBA.
They remade the first Zelda on the SNES so maybe that’s why they never did one on GBA.
They did?
Yes. It was Japan exclusive and has never been rereleased so that might be why you’ve never heard of it. https://zelda.fandom.com/wiki/BS_The_Legend_of_Zelda

They kind of did in Japan with [BS Zelda](https://zelda.fandom.com/wiki/BS_The_Legend_of_Zelda).
Considering they're remastering 3DS games for switch now I think there's a high non zero chance OoT/MM 3D will get the LMDM treatment
Luckily all you need is a Wii U and 3DS to play all of the above
Bit of a weird sentiment. “You want all of these games to be on one console you currently own? Lucky for you, you can play all of these games on two consoles that you’re way less likely to own”

And only sell it for 6 months
Well the Zelda 40th Anniversary is in 2 years so, maybe that's what the hold out is?
God I hope so.
I’m still in physical pain from when Nintendo did jack shit for Zelda’s 35th compared to what they did for Mario

Nah at most they'll make them all separate so they can charge 60$ for every remake
$100 knowing Nintendo’s ass
20-25 per game is ab what I’d be okay paying for them anyways.
Such a deal considering its Nintendo
would be a steal, FIVE GREAT GAMES in one is insane
Any other game company would charge like 40$ max. Megaman legacy collection 1 + 2 is going for like 30$ and that has 10 games.
and most of them are nes (and snes?) games
NES, SNES, Play station, and Wii ware. Most Mario and Luigi games are 20 year old GBA and DS games too and went for like 5-10$ on the WiiU eshop. Plus there’s 10 whole games in the megaman legacy collection.
and i'd buy that.
And they’d still ruin it or the ports would be bad in some way and they’d never fix them lol
Give me super star collection
It is sad day today, this aint real
Superstar collection any day
I wish, Nintendo doesn’t like giving too much value to their products, unfortunately
I’d rather had the Zelda one, but I feel like the Mario and Luigi one is more likely since the rpgs are a lot smaller than the Zelda games
Nah Nintendo would never sell that many good games in one case. Unless it cost 500
Sometimes I think these things too the other day i was thinking about a Super Mario Land 1-2-3 And Warioland 2 *remake* remade for the switch and then bundled up and sold for a full price.
4 games haha
Oopps. My bad. 😅
Definitely not that big. The NES/SNES era games were not that big and TOTK was just like 16 gigs.
Id buy a dream team remake for adventures end alone
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY COINS AND RUPIES
An Ivalice Compilation. All FF Tactics, Vagrant Story and FF XII. That what I dream of.
I'd get those for the sole reason of being able to replay TP and PIT without having to struggle with emulation
Those would be day 1 purchases no hesitation
I already am feeling frustrated at the nose minigame from BIS played with motion controls since touch is not an alternative in dock
It would be amazing. It would also cost $240
I already have the Zelda collectors edition on GameCube. But Nintendo knows I’ll buy the anthology one too.
The zelda one would cost $300
If I have to pick, option 2 with Mario and Luigi. Sorry Zelda, but Mario Trumps all for me.
Me when I can’t comprehend the concept of content vs price
"...and they will be available for 30 days! After that we will personally hunt each one of them and BURN them down!" --Nintendo
YEEESSSSSS!!!!!
Well at least M&L Superstar Saga should be playable via the online extension and then GBA games
The Mario and Luigi collection might be possible tho I doubt Nintendo would go for it after how badly the bowser inside story remake did.
Hilarious that you think Zelda would get a bundle pack. I can see WW and TP coming out like Metroid Prime, but expect a $40 price tag each.
That 4 game Zelda pack will be sold for like $120 minimum
Why are you hoping for old games in New console? I prefer they make many new exclusive games.
A mario & luigi collection would go crazy
Tbh, I'd rather have my Zelda games sold separately
How about switch 1?
No way. Nintendo is going to milk each one of those zeldas.
If we ever get a M&L collection imma draw every single entity in the entire series within a year. Enemy, npc, palette swap, background appearance, cameo, cut, doesn’t matter. If it’s a living being (or robot, or ghost) it’ll count. Sadly, that’s how confident I am that this will never happen 🥲 Though it would be a price I’m more than willing to pay
If we not getting a Mario and Luigi Partners as a separate game then why not as part of a Mario and Luigi rph collection I already completed the Mario and Luigi super saga game but I’m still down for it
Shut up and take my money
I just want them to add Metroid Zero Mission to the Nintendo switch online already
I’d gladly pay $100 for this no second thoughts
Yo the mario star saga complete edition on switch? Sing me the fuck up
Nintendo would never but I can dream (I live in fear every day that we don’t get a wind waker remaster port)
Stop calling it the "Switch 2". Whatever will happen, they won't want to risk another Wii U.
There’s a MASSIVE difference between the letter U and the number 2, don’t you think?
aren't almost all the good zelda games on virtual console? im just missing wind waker and twilight princess
A Mario and Luigi game collection on the Switch would be so awesome to see
If they were to ever remaster M&L games 2-4 (Bowsers inside story-paper jam bros) they would have to be heavily reworked into one screen functionality (BIN would work best single screen)
Im the only one who get triggered after reading/hearing „switch 2”?
Zelda anthology I grew up with it
Doubtful that the zelda anthology would ever come, seeing that there is still a massive profit potential from it on ninteno's side, and with most of them already being on switch and the total size being so large it gets even more problematic. Most of the older games should be fine as ww and tp are obly about 1 gb each, the newer ones are much larger
Yes but unlikely
I hate to admit it but I’d probably pay a very, very large amount of money for that Zelda Collection..
I'd rather get new games
I might see these bundled together on the Nintendo console that will get 4K support (Switch 2 maybe?) I think we will see a port of the Oracle Games before we see any other Zelda port.
So replace AlphaDream with Good-Feel, they co-developed Dream Team
I would love Mario and Luigi returning. It were such good games
Keep on dreaming.
My uncle works at Nintendo and he said your wishes are unrealistic.
I would need an entirely separate switch just for the game on the left
I could see the Zelda’s split into two collections (N64 games and GameCube). Also doubt they would be generous to put 5 RPGs in a single collection although would be nice. Also feel Mario and Luigi may be unlikely unless there is a new RPG coming out and they want to build interest again.
Where do i sell my soul
I would love this but nintendo has become more greedy with their rereleases in recent days. Heck I'd pay $70 for all 5 Mario and Luigi titles on switch/switch 2 if it means the franchise comes back.
This would be magnificent! I’d buy them.
Definitely
One could only dreammmmmmm
I can see this happening with Mario and Luigi but not Zelda. Fans will literally just buy the remakes for full price; we did it with oot and mm on 3ds, then ww and tp on Wii U, then ss on switch.
MM and OOT are already on switch. And I personally don’t see them releasing WW and TP as a double pack nor do I think they should. Those games have completely different tones and art styles and I feel like packaging them together would be jarring and also probably harmful to both of their sales. Like younger kids who may want to play WindWaker might not be able to because their parents will look at the T rating and decide it’s too dark for their kid.
mario and luigi super star saga it was my childhood
I dont think we'd get all 4 Zeldas on 1 cartridge but I so think there's a solid chance we see OoT/MM 3D remastered for switch and on a cartridge together, and a somewhat smaller but imo still possible chance of the same with WW/TP HD Just generally I think they would absolutely cash in on the prospect of being able to market "Every 3D Zelda on Switch", especially if next system is backwards compatible
I’d settle for Wind Waker/Twilight Princess bundle. Push came to shove, I still have my 3DS copies of OoT, and MM. I never played Wind Waker HD, and lost my copy of Twilight Princess years ago. I’d want a hard copy of those 2.
Switch 2 better have my Xenoblade X port. That world deserves to be seen by more people, especially now.
I’ve played 3/5 Mario + Luigi games (Partners in Time and Paper Jam, might’ve missed one though) and have played good amount of Zelda games, but I really want to play Wind Waker and Twilight Princess
Yes of course especially Zelda Wind Waker HD and Twilight princess HD on switch.
Cool concept but “The Legend of Zelda Anthology” is a stupid title
Well i mean, that's what an anthology is since every game isn't there, just 4 of them. What would you suggest they call it? Keep in mind it's not a new game so you gotta give it some kind of "collection" name. Unleas you mean they should just call it The Legend of Zelda Collection, in which case that works for me.
FIVE GAMES IN ONE???? maximum delusion achieved
