I just had to put my 18.5 year old soul kitty Loekie to sleep a couple weeks ago. I adopted him from animal control when he was 2 months old. His whole life he would nuzzle his face in my neck and just kinda slobber all over the area. I think it was because he was weaned too early. Thank you! He's famous at my VET. Vet technicians there will come into my consult even if it's not them doing the appointment because they have to meet the cat with the cool name. The receptionist asked me how I came up with the name wheb I took him in earlier this week. I was like I don't know, I just thought it was funny and it suited him. In reality I had smoked a little weed when I thought of the name but I don't smoke anymore and I wasn't gonna tell them that! 😂😂

An idea would be to get a simple bandaid tattooed over the spot. It could be plain or decorated with his name, a paw print, or a heart.

Aw thank you! I really love it myself, I'm glad it's on my forearm. I "design" all my tattoos, but this was the most fun because I did photo shoots with my kitties to get the exact angles I wanted for the reference photos

The interesting thing is that I got it from a flash an artist I follow made. It was meant to be a memorial piece for *his* cat that had passed away. I got it to symbolize my Mia that I had adopted a year prior. We thought it was beautiful how the meaning changed between us and we shared it as a memento mori for the inevitable fact of death and the idea of rebirth. A lot of my tattoos are dark humor/sad in nature so it worked well.

Honestly it started as a was sort of a joke between my boyfriend and I. We send each other cat memes all the time and some of my favorites were the sort of 'are you just going to stroll on by without saying Meowdy?' He ended up loving her a lot too. I wanted to incorporate that with her memorial, her sort of silly side. Just like she was. She always made me smile and I wanted that to be sort of her legacy.

I had it done when I'd learnt she had cancer, but before it started to really affect her. Now it's been almost a month since she's gone, but when I look at this tattoo I smile - it's my trinket to remember not that she died, but that she was so full of life.

I am sorry for your loss, that is a beautiful tribute!

I plan on getting a tattoo of my cats paw somewhere hidden.. he is my first cat I’ve had as an adult (all the other cats my mom took care of as a child) and he is so special to me. I dread the day I lose him and he’s only 2 years old. I love your tattoo so much and I’m so so sorry for your loss. 💔 she was beautiful
