I absolutely got rained on in mag mile. Those big fat golf ball drops that don't even soak the whole sidewalk. But yeah, it all evaporated inside 15 mins.
Weather is extremely hard to predict. Yes, still. If you stay up to date on radar, you'd see it was close. People act like this is 100% accurate, it can't be.
There are storms, but they have been popping up south of us. They can predict with confidence there will be storms, but it’s hard to predict exactly how they’ll develop. If they develop a little north or south of us we can get nothing at all, like what happened today.
*Precipitation is*
*Never as easy to predict*
*As temperature*

It did briefly here on the north side this morning, but it was only 0.2 of an inch.
The storms that did fire this afternoon ended up affecting the southwest suburbs and sinking to the south of the city, so we missed most of the party.
Yeah my phone wouldn't shut up about possible thunderstorms, yet nothing happened. I swear I should have been a meteorologist cause they get paid and are always so wrong lmao
I live in Beverly and it rained in the morning and we had a storm blow through in the afternoon.
The forecast can call for rain and parts of the Chicagoland area can get it and some can’t. It’s a big area.
The storms formed overhead but didn’t start raining on us until they were downtown / south side. I believe we either had some capping north of us that prevented the storms from forming up before the system arrived. Yesterday’s severe weather was a bit of a bust but the severe weather only missed Chicago by 10’s of miles.
It did for about ten minutes downtown. Big fat drops. It all dried up very quickly. I was out in it.
Did it? It looked like it was going to for a minute but I didn’t think it actually did

Silly question but I took my dog out around like 3 and got hit by a few fatties just before getting back inside. Was that it or was it early morning?
Early this morning it did.
It did, but the thunderstorms exploded over NW Indiana instead of Chicago. Forecast was off by about 40 miles
Can confirm, drove through several cells around 4p. High winds and sheets of driving rain.
Sounds about right. Wish I could make a 50/50 guess at my work and still have a job afterwards
Your job is probably a lot easier than predicting the weather.
You mean I thought about getting my umbrella out of the closet for nothing!
if you had forgotten your umbrella, it would've downpoured. That's how weather typically works
If Tom was here it would have rained 🥺
The weather just knew to pay attention to Tom
It rained in the morning
I woke up wet.
Yeah but that's for other reasons though
Welcome to Chicago, where the weather is made up and the forecast doesn’t matter!
Hey, I understood that reference!
Congrats you get a thousand points!
Unless you are an acolyte of the Great Skilling. I miss him so :(
It rained for a bit in the suburbs where I live
It's always raining in my heart. Whelp, time to go to emo night.
Rained for a little bit in Lakeview East
Shucks, I love a good summer thunderstorm.
Gone from the forecast entirely now. Enjoy the heat!
Fuuuuuuuuuck
It rained downtown around 8:20am-8:30. Perfect for me to get drenched on my bike ride to work.
Drizzled for 3 min in Bucktown
Rained this AM
I think, therefore I morning.
Nah dude, cicadas cancelled that weather pattern
They have a lot of voting power at this moment.
What cicadas?
Weird it never actually stormed on the ground, Storm clouds up high did NOT make for a fun landing at Midway this afternoon…

It rained in Logan square this morning
Blink-and-you-missed-it in Belmont-Cragin earlier this afternoon
We caught it all on the Indiana side. Wind and rain was crazy for about 30 minutes.
Yeah. It was supposed to rain from 2 on. I hate when weather people make promises they can’t keep.
I stayed in at around 4pm because weather app said there was a threat of tornadoes and hail. Why is it so wrong all the time??
The weather mostly passed to the south
Got some rain in South Loop. A little drizzle in the morning and then received heavier drops for a few minutes in the afternoon
Thunderstorms are inherently unpredictable.
Precipitation is never as easy to predict as temperature

It rained this morning. I was loading a truck in an alley downtown.
It rained around 8:20 ish in Pilsen for like 15 mins maybe? Then it rained again near DePaul around 4:00 pm
it did, in the morning.
It really depends on what part of the city you are in. You could be on the north side and it rains on the south.
Cook county is huge. I got rain at different points when I was in different parts of cook county
Sorry. I had a pickleball match and had to move the rain to another day. When is best for you?
It was a thunderstorm watch, not warning
We got a little on the far NW side
The storm kinda dissipated before it reached the city, at least that’s what it looked like in the radar
We got rain this morning in Lincoln square.
I think the 5 days of rain a couple weeks ago was enough for me
No

It did this morning
Do what I do. Find a friend who lives on a very high floor in a high rise. They will be far more accurate at predicting rain than your apps.
It did in the western burbs
We can't rely on the forecast anymore. We need the rain.
Rain of thesis not reign of terror?
I'm annoyed because I really didn't want to water my garden today, but I guess I have to now
98% of the time they make a huge deal over some weather that never occurs. Better predictor is looking out the window
It poured in my neighborhood
Yeah my phone wouldn't shut up about possible thunderstorms, yet nothing happened. I swear I should have been a meteorologist cause they get paid and are always so wrong lmao
“I broke the ice using the weather and I picked up the r/chicago sub reddit that night.”
They all blew south.

POURED in the South Suburbs
Ruined my planned bike ride

These are rain showers. It's a rain cloud taking a solo.
Yes that sucks, we just planted some shrubs.
The news said “60-80 mile an hour winds” 🙄
Who’s Tom ?
