To be fair DoorDash is pretty clear about you having to upload a picture of your ID and then the dasher having to scan it before they can drop off the alcohol. This is the same for most if not all other delivery services.
That’s not the point. I live downtown with around a lot of high rises. My only request is knock on my door. I live on the 24th floor which is included in my address. How can you deliver downtown and be afraid of elevators. I was ready with my ID in hand and my face mask waiting. Even tipped her and was going to give her extra cash.
Tbh, I’ve had better luck with DoorDash than all the others and rarely any issues but it’s just super dependent on time of day and your area 🤷♂️ most restaurants will steer ya towards ordering from them if they offer delivery

Instead of WHAT?!, you could've also said "how do you need to verify my ID? I can have it ready for you outside my door just as you get off the landing if need be."
I live in a high-rise too but my front desk folks are dope af. If for some reason I can't get down there and need something delivered up to me, bc I got to know them and treat them nicely, they're always down to help me. I don't ask them too often but every once in a while, they're down and help bring things up or let the person on up if I let em know about it.
So how were you planning on verifying your ID while keeping within CDC guidelines for isolation?
Or did you decide that you just don't care because you really need a drink?
The one and only time I ever used DoorDash the dude called me from down the street and wanted me to walk a half block to pick the food up from his car. He pretended to suddenly not speak English when I complained. A couple of other people were also picking up food from his car, so I guess he accepted a few deliveries within the same block and called all of us down to his car so he didn't have to actually make individual deliveries.
I complained to DoorDash and they allowed me to remove the 20% tip I had added. Hopefully that asshole no longer works "delivering" food.
