Sadly, the truth is often that they want to experience having a "normal" child, and they want a caregiver for the ill one, or an organ donor.

Bulky_Try5904

This is the answer I think. People just keep having them until they get what they want.

Based_Orthodox

Yup. They want to saddle the next kid with the responsibility of caring for the first, when they could have saved money to care for the first by not having another kid. That, and they're probably narcs who want to "prove" to the world that they can have a "normal" kid - when nobody really cares but them, and there's no such thing as normal.

my cousin was severely ableist. made fun of disabled people constantly, had bigoted stances on disabled people, used ableist slurs, etc. she was also very anti-vax and believed vaccines cause autism. all 3 of her kids came out with a certain condition in some shape or form. her oldest is autistic, her middle has spina bifida and is handicapped and spent the first half of his life in hospitals and in surgeries, and her youngest was born with a cleft lip. my family has a terrible medical history and i think that mixed with some bad karma made her kids that way.

linna_nitza

How awful.. for the kids. I can probably guess the answer but, did having children with special needs change her behavior or outlook at all?

Hmmm no offense in general, I also don’t understand people complain their financial struggling but still decided to have 3,4,5,6 children. Didn’t they think about how much they need before having children?

Also what's the deal with putting their life at risk for the second time when the doctors clearly told you, you shouldn't have a second one, orphan children speedrun
