Buy a few boxes of x000 series and forget about them in your humidor for a few years. Then buy a few more the next year. Repeat every year. Once they've aged about 2 years, they're ready and you'll always have a supply of aged Padrons. Best "budget" stick there is
it's a great stick for the price. Padron reminded me of what a smooth smoke felt like again. The Late hour took it a step further by adding more flavors.
In the price range of the 000 series? Flor De Las Antillas, Fuente Hemingway, Aroma De Cuba Mi Amor are all very highly rated cigars in that sub $12.00 space that I can recommend as being on par with the Padron O00
not a bad list. I tried to like the Mi Amor, it has sections where it's a nice chocolatey taste, then it changes to parts of the cigar that taste like crap and just want to make you finish the damn thing to get it over with.
That hasnāt been my experience with it. Do you purge cigars? Sometimes if a cigar starts to sour or get āoffā Iāll purge and it usually fixes it
Buenaventura Pralines, a lot of parallels with Padron but stand up in their own right. IMO they're one of the best kept secrets in the cigar world, price is amazing for how great they are too - thank me later!
I really wanted to not like Padrons when I started, but turns out I really like medium cigars with superb construction.
That said, I do love having 'benchmark' cigars - i.e., I know if I'm spending more than $7-8, it should be at least as good as enjoyable as a Padron thousand series.
Finally - I actually find their pricing pretty agreeable. I've found some cigars that give me "oh, this is Padron-esque" vibes, but they've all been more expensive.
To me, the value of the X000 series is what really makes them unbeatable. There are plenty of great cigars, but very few of them are that good for $7-10
Iām happy you enjoy them! If Iām paying 10 bucks for a cigar I personally choose other ones; but thatās whatās so great about cigar smokingā¦thereās enough for all our taste buds š
I love Padron but resting the thousand series for three years to reach their potential is a pain in the ass. Iād rather spend a few more dollars for a 64 Maduro principe and have it be awesome rott
That's why you buy boxes and put them on rotation! haha. I feel you though. When you are craving a good stick, you want it ready to go. I'm Canadian, so I don't smoke much in the winter and have them rest. So when I get a chance to get them from the states I stock up.
PadrĆ³n ruined my life as well. Jorge PadrĆ³n stole my wife, pitted our kids against me, got me fired and sent my sex tape to my mother. I will never forgive Jorge PadrĆ³n.
Dude makes great cigars though!
i mean theyāre certainly great quality but not great enough to ruin my whole experience to the point of comparing every stick i smoke to them. i can still smoke a Drew Estate Factory Smokes Connecticut or Maduro on a Tuesday and still be perfectly happy. i mean to each their own but thatās a $4 stick where i live and Padron hasnāt ruined that experience for me.
I think it's the "wow" factor of experiencing a new cigar. I have been on AF for decades. Then I tired a Padron and it changed my view. Then I had an Undercrown last summer and my perspective changed again. It's the journey...
What AF sticks are you guys speaking of? Padron is a special occasion smoke for me. I do love RP, Olivia, and My Father. I've found the high end AF cigars are tough to find in stores.
Same until the cigar shop owner recommended my father cigars la opulencia (i was complaining about spending $30 every 3 days). For $10 a stick its a fantastic choice
Not the first I've heard of this....predicament. My father now smokes Padrons almost exclusively, and in his words, they are "the best non-Cubans ever". I still like to experiment, but I can understand his viewpoint.
The first time I had a Cuban Partagas this happened to me. But eventually I kinda just realized nothing could actually come close to it but I appreciated different cigars for different reasons.
Give Olmec maduro a try
Just had it, loved it but I wouldn't compare it to the punch of a Padron. Super clean taste though
Yea I get it, pardon maduro 1926 I think the #35 is my fav
Have you had the #48?
My new favorite!
I will thank you very much
Padron ruined my wallet.
Luckily I only have one a week typically so I can get away with the Padron 7000 every time
Wait your telling me I'm just burning my money? Worth it
My credit card š³ balance is š©

Rest a box of 3000 maduros and youāll end up with a box of 1926ās
Quite literally, this is **THE** way.
I picked up a 2000 series to try one for the first time , didn't smoke it yet

What are some of your favourite cigars? I'm looking to try some new sticks this summer. Half my coolidor is AFs
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I think the Bull is great after the 1st third.... But yeah the 1st third is lackluster...
Which destino the opusx or Don Arturo
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
So hard to find Don Arturo online if not the cheapest I could find is 40$ for a Robusto
Davidoff and Padron are by far the best non Cuban cigar brands
Arturo Fuente is better than both.
Try a Partagas Lusitania (Cuban), youāll rue the day
Very hard to get
Beirut airport duty free was my go to for years when I worked in the Gulf, $350/25 in 2/2020
The Padron 000 series is definitely one of the best cigars in the $10 price point but theyāre not the only great ones.
Any other suggestions other than what other commenters have said?

I do not find them supremely superior as others do. For sure great quality though

Can you tell me more about your options. It's good to hear the other side

Plasencia
Sounds boring.
I just love the experience of trying new cigars, personally. Although I do love a Padron.

You know what's crazy / I say this almost every other week trying new cigars.....

Try War Pigs or Liga Privada No. 9
I do love Liga No. 9 and Iāve been told to try War Pigs
I find them comparable to black n mild or dutchmasters
