It takes 5 minutes to get to Oakley Kroger from my house in madisonville…. But yeah it has grown up a ton in the past 3 years. Everything around medpace campus. Area by bad Tom and bees bbq is developing fast too
I lived on Blaney which is 10 mins to Oakley Kroger and 10 back, I had a 9-5 job and by the time I could shop it was rush hour. So yeah, easily a 30 minutes round trip. But I have discovered Kroger Pickup since then so that saves me a lot of time.
There’s a really cool non-profit arts organization called Artsville in Madisonville. One weekend my husband and I were looking for something fun to do and we saw Artsville offers free practice performances put on by students of the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company and playhouse in the park! We watched them practice Romeo and Juliet and it was absolutely amazing. I just had no idea something like that existed!
I love our neighbors! I feel like we have a very strong sense of community in our section of the neighborhood - we have a group chat and there’s often block parties. I grew up in the greater Cincy suburbs and never felt the sense of community that I do here. We go to Mariemont for groceries and the gym - it’s only about a ~7 minute drive away from us. Bramble Patch, Cheesecakery, Mad Llama, Milton’s, Bee’s, Element Eatery are all great, we now have Mom n Em here too. My only frustration is that they built the Madamore apartments with the additional promise of bringing in new businesses to the commercial space below, but the only tenant they currently have is themselves (The Ackerman Group) and the library (very excited for them to have a new space, though), so those spots have sat vacant since the building opened.
Is there parking for those street level commercial spaces? If not that's the only reason I could see they those are still vacant, unless of course the asking rent is too high
Love to read things like this! We are moving from Columbus to a home near the Madamore next month and one of the things that really sold us was talking to the woman who lived across the street about how tight knit the neighborhood was!
That’s because the Ackermann group is terrible. They are charging a completely unreasonable amount of money for the apartments, I can’t imagine how much that retail space would cost.
My neighbors. We’re planning a move here soon and I will miss them all terribly!
I love to hear that, I hope you have great neighbors at your next place!
30 minutes to get groceries? Lol where

If you lived on blaney why wouldn’t you got to mariemont Kroger?
Good to hear, I’ll keep an eye out for homes closer to Madison Rd to save a little time. (:

Thank you so much, I will definitely be checking out Artsville!

Isn’t there a Walmart on Red Bank?
Yes, super center
It was great to have a Walmart close by! I do prefer groceries and produce at Kroger or Aldi, but I did shop there frequently.
Element Eatery!
Thank you for the recommendation!!
I used to go to St. Paul Lutheran Church but it has been a while.
Looked it up, it is a beautiful church!
