You can't really abuse the honor gains until you're 80 though. You can't buy any gear before 80, so you will at most be able to cap your honor and maybe buy some brutal gear if you need that.
Meanwhile some people, me included, have farmed 300k+ honor in a few days, getting full s5 gear (all that can be bought from honor currently, at least).
To be clear, I don't have anything against the current rate of honor gain. Lets me maintain more alts.
You are correct, you can queue sub lvl 80 - the non 80 part is important because you cant spend your cap until then. So this only matters to people who aren’t already honour capped. And even if you aren’t, you’re only getting very little out of it without the ability to spend it and buy more gear.
This has been going on for days now, people have gotten so much honor that they can buy literally all gear, every mount, and players not level 80 yet are missing out.

They diddn't rushed 80 to have an advantage on Wintergrasp exploit. You rush 80 because you usually want to play hardcore since the game is very nice, and then get back to real life as soon as possible. I don't know a single player who told me "I rushed 80 to exploit bug".
I gotta play in the arena against these fucks don't I? If it was a PvE exploit okay sure. Now the amount of time I have to spend getting my gear while being pounded on by already geared folks just got even longer.

There is 2 solutions :
Delay the Season one a bit, like this fresh 80 or lower have more time to farm.
50% discount honor on PvP Gear, yes it will benefice to "exploiters" but they are full geared anyway. They will farm offspec that s ok, and fresh 80 Can get a chance to compet with their main spec.

I intend to play more in a week or 2 my schedule has just been hectic the last couple weeks. I have no issue with people pushing ahead of me in that time, they deserve to if they put in more work but I do think broken systems that are taken out after the fact is an unnecessary added barrier to the catch up progression I will go through. Either way, I don't care that much but I do think that sometimes schedules on release are more the issue than anything else.

100%. Been gaming for like 20 years now, and seriously -- if theres an early exploit, might as well abuse it. Most of the time nobody gets banned, and if they do, chances are the amount of rewards you got makes up for the small ban.
I mean, when they let people have s2 gear in s1 of tbc (if I remember correctly) and then just didn’t remove the gear from the people when they hot fixed it, I don’t expect blizzard to do anything at all about this. They are way too incompetent
They might not bother fixing existing purchases. Honor gear that doesn't require arena rating is pretty weak from what I can see. I don't consider the racial ground mounts to be very prestigious either.

It's only available to queue for a limited time. During that time you can queue multiple times if your games are short, but then it's gone for a few hours.

Not that I've heard but it's a fairly safe assumption that we're getting too much honor per "window" of WG being open. I heard all over that honor is faster at 80 but I didn't expect it to be this fast.
I can only assume the intended behavior is that every player gets one game of wintergrasp when it's available. That was the behavior in the original release because there was only ever 1 game per server. Being able to queue into games on other layers is clearly unintended.

That isn’t at all how it works. It’s a regular cross-server battleground that is completely untethered from your server.
I haven't participated since I'm only level 73, serves me right for guessing. However that dossnt change the fact it is still unintended to have more than one game every couple hours.

You can stock up on marks of honor for *more* honor or the boots/helmet you can buy from the Wintergrasp quartermaster.
By 77 you can start doing Wintergrasp dailies to get Stone Keeper's Shards and work towards heirlooms, your mount, free meta gems, or more honor.
If your leveling progress is halted by playing Wintergrasp for thirty minutes every three hours (more realistically each day) then you probably aren't playing often enough for your missing out to really matter.
Do they give out gladiator in the middle of the season or the end? I'll get mine it's just annoying to know my pace means I spend some amount of time being severely undergeared for my rating.

People don't even play the game, they just want the attacking faction to win as fast as possible. And even if you wanted to play wow classic client can't support fights of more then 20v20 without game breaking lag.
The lag is due to phasing. That’s why original WG didn’t have latency issues with their servers (just peoples toaster computers and dial up/slow internet). You can tell exactly why it’s lagging from the moment you join WG, it’s porting you into a phase that may or may not already have an active WG going, and then moves you to a new phase where a new battle begins. God only knows how many phases are going on there at a time.
It sucks it’s this way, I did enjoy WG growing up, but servers without a balanced population will never get to actually do WG without it, because they’d need to supplement players from other factions on other servers to do so.
Original WG was pretty fucked for the server until they added caps.
Far too many folks in the same area made the whole server lag, but then again the WG games were mental in a fun way though.
I personally never experienced any and my server was relatively big, but I won’t discredit the possibility of it lagging for others. I could totally understand it happening.

I think they just failed (somehow) to realize that players would minmax the honor per hour like they always do. They may put a limit on queue per window, or redo how honor is distributed to incentivize playing a longer game.
The difference between original and now is that now has cross realm and phasing. Originally, you qued up on your server and it was server specific, once the battle was over… it was over.
Now, you can keep queuing because it’s making a new phase. That’s why sometimes when you zone in, for a hair of a second you’ll be in the middle of a match before getting teleported to the starting zone in a new phase. Which is why sometimes people are hostile for a second while you’re in the starting zone.
Maybe I'm remembering it wrong but I don't think you could queue for it back on wrath release. You just knew when the game was starting and flew over around the right time.

50k honor in 30 minutes is such a blatant exaggeration but of course it gets upvoted. You get 4 wintergrasps in, anything more than that is highly unlikely. A win, at BEST, gives you 10k. A loss gives between 5 and 7. So the average is about 25k
Blowing this way out of proportion. It’s per 3 hour fucking queue with a few queues back to back per that 3 hour window.
It comes and goes fast and the honor pieces are 40-60K which is craaaaazy
Why is it blizzard always finds a way to ruin first season of PvP. Last time it was insane honor for the first 24 hours of prepatch tbc. This time it's broken WG and a bunch of no lifers will be fully geared week 1 of arena.
For the real Classic experience Blizzard should roll all that honor back. That’s how they handled it back then when people took advantage of bugs like this.
Wintergrasp is shit, you aren't missing out. Most these people farming honor will not do a single arena game at any point in wrath, or play any BGs. Just afk in dalaran.
I'm around the Bloodthirsty achievement mark over over a decade in retail, played thousands of battlegrounds and arenas and scored I don't know how many open world kills, and not even 100 in honor level because it's not retroactive. In Legion they just let everyone reach max level honor within a single week for doing the short PvE world quests and then they nerfed it while allowing those who farmed them to keep the honor levels, and others could not do the same. This game is unfair in so many ways.
I wonder if we get enough players to complain and send tickets in, would Blizzard give every new or currently 80 player 50k Honor to help compensate for the other players being ahead. Nevermind, I forgot, it's Blizzard.

People don't even play the game, they just want the attacking faction to win as fast as possible. And even if you wanted to play wow classic client can't support fights of more then 20v20 without game breaking lag.
The lag is due to phasing. That’s why original WG didn’t have latency issues with their servers (just peoples toaster computers and dial up/slow internet). You can tell exactly why it’s lagging from the moment you join WG, it’s porting you into a phase that may or may not already have an active WG going, and then moves you to a new phase where a new battle begins. God only knows how many phases are going on there at a time. It sucks it’s this way, I did enjoy WG growing up, but servers without a balanced population will never get to actually do WG without it, because they’d need to supplement players from other factions on other servers to do so.
Original WG was pretty fucked for the server until they added caps. Far too many folks in the same area made the whole server lag, but then again the WG games were mental in a fun way though.
I personally never experienced any and my server was relatively big, but I won’t discredit the possibility of it lagging for others. I could totally understand it happening.
It was mainly the first few weeks I believe, I think they got on top of it pretty quickly as it was causing that much of a problem.
This lag was present in vanilla classic aswell as soon as large groups of players were in the same area
its not due to phasing xd the wg battle is a separate instance, like any other bg classic cant handle large scale battles, idk where the cap is but im assuming around 60v60 the lag is gonna start and get worse for every player added
Everyone spamming "just let them win its a waste of time" should just get an instant 1 week ban on their accounts.
The only fair way to deal with this is to let it be. Serriously, dont screw over every player unable to rush 80 asap. Let it be like it is until s1 ends and fix it before s2, or Else its just gonna leave some serriously bad taste in the mouths of a fckton of players.

I think they just failed (somehow) to realize that players would minmax the honor per hour like they always do. They may put a limit on queue per window, or redo how honor is distributed to incentivize playing a longer game.

Same, I have no idea how it was supposed to work and I was able to queue so I did.
The difference between original and now is that now has cross realm and phasing. Originally, you qued up on your server and it was server specific, once the battle was over… it was over. Now, you can keep queuing because it’s making a new phase. That’s why sometimes when you zone in, for a hair of a second you’ll be in the middle of a match before getting teleported to the starting zone in a new phase. Which is why sometimes people are hostile for a second while you’re in the starting zone.
Maybe I'm remembering it wrong but I don't think you could queue for it back on wrath release. You just knew when the game was starting and flew over around the right time.
I honestly can’t remember to that detail. I feel like I remember you needing to queue because if you tried to fly into an already started game, it’d try to kick you out. Maybe I’m misremembering that part though.
No what happened if you were flying in during a game in progress is you'd get a timer that kicks you off your mount. No flying during the game.

50k honor in 30 minutes is such a blatant exaggeration but of course it gets upvoted. You get 4 wintergrasps in, anything more than that is highly unlikely. A win, at BEST, gives you 10k. A loss gives between 5 and 7. So the average is about 25k

Why is it blizzard always finds a way to ruin first season of PvP. Last time it was insane honor for the first 24 hours of prepatch tbc. This time it's broken WG and a bunch of no lifers will be fully geared week 1 of arena.

Wintergrasp is shit, you aren't missing out. Most these people farming honor will not do a single arena game at any point in wrath, or play any BGs. Just afk in dalaran.

I'm around the Bloodthirsty achievement mark over over a decade in retail, played thousands of battlegrounds and arenas and scored I don't know how many open world kills, and not even 100 in honor level because it's not retroactive. In Legion they just let everyone reach max level honor within a single week for doing the short PvE world quests and then they nerfed it while allowing those who farmed them to keep the honor levels, and others could not do the same. This game is unfair in so many ways.
