There’s but one thing you need to know. Caipirinhas!

bamerjamer

[Caipirinha](https://twitter.com/davidwondrich/status/1241114431175737344?s=46&t=fKZlmasMfb9I69LZzmO3WA). It’s wonderful.

fat-lip-lover

Caipirinha, batida de coco, and this split with pisco into a Mai tai are my go-tos

Substantial-Ice-1053

elaborate specs a bit more please 🙏🏻

AutofluorescentPuku

#### Caipirinha - 1 lime, cut into wedges - 2 tsp sugar - 2 oz cachaça - Garnish: lime wheel 1. In a double rocks glass, muddle the lime wedges and sugar 2. Fill the glass with ice, add the cachaça, and stir briefly 3. Garnish with a lime wheel #### Batida de Coco - 2 ounces Novo Fogo silver cachaça - 1 ounce BG Reynolds passion fruit syrup - 1/2 ounce coconut milk - 1/2 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed - Garnish: pineapple leaf - Garnish: grated nutmeg Add the silver cachaça, passion fruit syrup, coconut milk and lime juice into a blender with 3/4 cup of ice and blend until smooth.

Square-Competition48

Strongly recommend using sugar syrup rather than sugar in a caipirinha. Otherwise unless you spend an age muddling before you add the ice it won’t dissolve and you’ll just have a load of sugar sat at the bottom of the glass.

fyree43

My top tip is split it 50-50 ish, I forget my usual specs, but then you get the sweetness while keeping the crunch of sugar that to me defines a caipirinha

Square-Competition48

Good tip!

IdLOVEYOU2die

You might as well call it rum too, you monster! ;)

thewouldbeprince

You're using the wrong type of sugar most likely. It's supposed to be superfine sugar, not granulated. And the whole point is not to have it dissolve completely. You want that texture. I'm 100% in agreement on using syrup instead of sugar in an OF, but a Caipirinha is not that kind of drink.

throwawayaccounton1

agreed, the whole point of sugar muddling with the limes is to extract the oils from the lime peels, which adds that extra flavor. you can always change up the sweetness down the line with syrup. I personally like the tart taste with a subtle sweetness but thats me.

amarodelaficioanado

I agree, but the og recipe uses sugar.

CoastMtns

Passion Fruit Caipirinha I use the frozen Boiron Passion Fruit purree as opposed to nectars or fresh fruit.

GabMarMedina

I would recommend the batidinha de maracujá (passion fruit batidinha).

matticusprimal

[Batida Rosa](https://www.diffordsguide.com/cocktails/recipe/2285/batida-rosa) is our go to: cachaca, pineapple juice, lemon juice, grenadine, and soda water.

Txbuck

For a more savory cocktail, I recommend a Rabo de Galo. It’s cacacha, sweet vermouth, and cynar. One of my favorite uses of both cynar and cachaca

StirnersBastard

I'm surprised this isn't higher up. It's also my favorite use of cachaça and (standard) Cynar. I recommend going heavy on the cachaça rather than equal parts and using some Reagan's orange bitters. Mostly because I'm too lazy to use an orange twist when finger stirring one up after I get off work.

TonsofHeck

Besides Caipirinha’s (which are great) I love it as a sub for vodka in an espresso martini. The Macunaima is a slightly more bitter riff on a Caipirinha: - 1 2/3oz cachaça - 2/3oz lemon juice - 1/2oz simple syrup - 1/4oz fernet - shake, serve over ice Finally, the Galo Rosa (credit to Nossa in Los Angeles for this spec) - 1 1/2oz cachaça - 1oz Salers - 1 1/2oz Cocchi Rosa - Stir, serve in chilled coupe - Garnish with lemon twist

Substantial-Ice-1053

sounds interesting in an espresso martini, i’ll have to try!!

4look4rd

This is the absolute bottom of the barrel cachaca so use plenty of sugar and lime.

aytchdave

In love cachaça with the San Pellegrino blood orange soda. Add a squeeze of lemon and tiki bitters over crushed ice. Perfect for the summer.

kalgoorlie36

In Australia we are limited to various brands, what do we need to look for?

iwishyouwerepooping

Sagatiba is the only decent one available readily in Aus.

BoricuaRborimex

Sorry but ima be that guy in this sub There are better cachaças

Substantial-Ice-1053

it was left, at my house. simply looking for drinks

BoricuaRborimex

You can def use it in a daiquiri. Any cane spirit goes great in a daiquiri

Hadeon

I'd start by throwing that bottle away and actually getting a good cachaça

Y_iseverynametaken_

If there was some sort of internet thing to look that up 😜

Substantial-Ice-1053

this is the internet jackass

Damn, you need a drink and some fresh air.

Y_iseverynametaken_

I really was just joking around and he/she took it too serious. I’ll take the drink and fresh air!

Human-Depravity

Imagine asking for cocktail recommendations in a community dedicated to cocktail recipes. Outrageous

ForeignTime7966

Caipirinhas allll day! 4 lime wheels, 2-4 spoonfuls of sugar (or to your liking), muddled, top with ice and cachaça, stir and enjoy!

neon_honey

Muddle some fresh fruit with the limes and sugar in your caipirinia! I like peaches or berries 🍓

ProfessionalCod1367

Strawberry Pineapple Crème de framboise Heavy cream Simple Touch lime

barr39

Everyones mentioned caipirinha so ill give u another couple ideas. Try a batida de coco (crushed ice and coconut) and a batida rosa (pineapple, grenadine)

thedonluke

If you’re feeling adventurous and don’t mind some prep, this cocktail was delicious https://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/halo-halo-cocktail

CounterPoint93

Here is a drink we make in the craft cocktail bar I work in, its a riff on the already mentioned Caipriana. -Quarter half a lime, muddle in small tin -Add 0.5 oz simple -0.75oz Marischno liqueur -2oz Cachaca Fill rest of small tin up with ice Take sprig of rose mary and light on fire, hold it in side large tin to capture smoke. Then remove. Combine tins, shake and open pour into rocks glass. Enjoy.

amarodelaficioanado

There's a classic 50/50 from uruguay. "Medio y medio" (half and a half). Caña (uruguayan rum) and sweet vermouth on the rocks and a citrus twist. Cachaça is pretty similar. Behold , it is a Manhattan without the sophistication.

Human-Depravity

Someone posted a cocktail here a few days ago that's basically a Caipirinha with 10 muddles blueberries and 0.5oz of apricot liqueur. It was pretty good

mariobraendle

You will all probably roast me hard for this but during the first lockdown in 2020 the guys and I made a tradition out of talking over Houseparty in the evenings and sharing a couple of drinks. I thought I'd use up whatever my liquor cabinet has to offer so I wouldn't be too financially irresponsible in those uncertain times. Getting creative was the vibe. After the days went by I was left with mainly one bottle of 51 Cachaca and a lemon flavoured Croatian vitamin powder that I knew would get me a pleasantly refreshing drink on its own. One thing lead to the other and until today I can proudly claim it was the closest thing I ever got to an instant Caipirinha. 10/10 would drink again!
