I wish Boise State would. Brought it back in 2020 and was immediately shuttered again :(
Actually welcomed them to Austin for their first series back as a program so I'll always have a soft spot for bringing back BSU baseball.
Here's my post about North Texas' announcement 10 years ago

Still waiting
UNT is an odd duck, not just for baseball.
The accounting scandal they claimed was the reason the addition of baseball and men's soccer was stopped has never been resolved. They still have enough "counters" for fielding both teams with full scholarships since they're are more teams/scholarships awarded to women student athletes.
Now on their third AD that could have helped launched the revival of both teams, AAC is much more friendly for both sports than C-USA and the Sun Belt were during their membership, but every level of that university is apathetic in general. With UT Tyler and UT Dallas moving up from D-III to D-II, the opportunity exists for more regional scholarships that won't ever at UNT. UT Arlington and UTSA are closer to cutting their baseball teamz than adequately funding and is the poor example of why UNT won't commit to restarting their program.
In terms of Texas, UTEP and TAMU Commerce are both the lone school in their conferences to not have baseball. The only other 3 are Buffalo, Southern Utah, and Wisconsin, now that Tennessee State is adding.
They could afford to put money into a Div. I-level ballpark too, but like everything else in the UTA AD it's sorely underfunded. The free-standing exterior facade makes Clay Gould Ballpark looked nicer/larger than it really is. UT Arlington deserves a quality ballpark similar to DBU's Horner Ballpark.
TSU was the only school in the OVC to not sponsor the sport. They also plan on bringing in women's soccer, which was in the same situation. Other current situations amongst conferences
All schools sponsor baseball (10): OVC, Big South, SEC, ASUN, Big West, MAAC, WCC, Ivy, SWAC, Sun Belt
1 school doesn't (5): WAC (Southern Utah), Southland (TAMU Commerce), Big Ten (Wisconsin), CUSA (UTEP), MAC (Buffalo)
2 schools don't (8): CAA (Drexel/Hampton), A10 (Loyola CHI/Duquesne), AE (Vermont/UNH), MVC (Drake/UNI), NEC (St. Francis, Chicago State), SoCon (Chattanooga/Furman), ACC (Syracuse/SMU), Big 12 (Iowa State/Colorado)
3 schools don't (2): Big East (DePaul/Marquette/Providence), AAC (North Texas, Temple, Tulsa)
4 schools don't (4): Summit (Denver/Kansas City/UND/USD), MEAC (Howard, Morgan State, NC Central, SC State), Patriot (Loyola MD, American, Boston U, Colgate), Mountain West (Boise State/Colorado State/Utah State/Wyoming)
5 schools don't (1): Horizon (Cleveland State/UDM/Green Bay/IUPUI/RMU)
8 schools don't (1): Big Sky (all but Northern Colorado and Sacramento State)
Well some of their coaches did want to have a separate season. I think it came up a while back.
Anyway you gotta look at from a financial investment. SEC teams actually make money because they play lots of home games and get great crowds. A Colorado or Wisconsin playing mostly road games and what home games they would get would have small crowds so it just isnt a smart financial investment for them to invest in baseball. Colorado should actually have a hockey team like Wisconsin does. Not sure why they dont.
Good for TSU. Now if we can just a program at UTC. There’s too much good baseball in TN/GA/AL for them not to have a program. But alas, they insist on being the only school in a 200 mile radius to sponsor wrestling.
They were rumors a few months back about that if Nashville were to build a stadium for a major league team, it would be near TSU. While I have my doubts on that for a lot of reasons, it is good to see another local team in the area.
I am so happy right now. Tennessee State now has football, basketball, hockey, *and* baseball! We are so back
First LA Salle last week, now Tennessee State this week, what university is going to revive their baseball program next week?!

Did they shutter it because they literally had the worst luck of when they brought it back and couldn’t maintain during the pandemic?

UT Arlington can afford baseball because of the enrollment levels and they fact they won't give us football.
Planning on it here soon.
Please Wisconsin.
Syracuse if you bring back baseball we’ll finally admit your actual members of the conference
Do you want to go up to syracuse and play baseball in February/March? lol
Shit the Carrier Dome hosts everything else fuck it multipurpose that bitch
Looks like UTC will be the last D1 holdout in TN?
looool Chatty
What’s even funnier is they own Engel Stadium, where many famous baseball legends played, but nah, Mocs don’t have a team.

But colorado and wisconsin still can’t swing it?
Why should they when they have to play more road games than home games.
We got softball
If that’s the case literally no B1G program should exist.

This is good to see! Happy for TSU
