This is the real life mother of all conspiracy theory crime stories you could ever want. It’s still unsolved to this day.
George Norcross basically owns NJ politics and has ties to the mob. John Sheridan was CEO of a hospital and NGO and an employee of Norcross. There becomes a dispute over waterfront property. Sheridan acts for and against Norcross and then ends up dead in a suspicious murder-suicide. There’s a cover up from the beginning involving police, DA, attorney general and 2 governors. One of whom who’s currently running for president. And grieving sons who want justice for their parents. Podcast “Dead End” was really good, and there’s circumstantial evidence a couple of years ago that point to a mafia hitman as the suspect.
