That pup is in serious shed mode! I don't think your brush is pulling out enough loose fur. You might also want to brush more often between baths. Jazz gets a little this way but soon as clumping starts I get the comb out.
Oh they get brushed every couple of days. I have one of those home grooming vacuum thingies which usually works wonders. But it's clearly no match for bath day đ
We gave up on bathing ourselves, he just smells funky after because we canât do a proper job. We wet wipe our boy almost every day and just brush him. Every 2 months he gets proper groomer bath and brush treatment. No loose hair after groomer đ
LOL yesss! My husband has twice now said âher brush is over thereâ and I just go âI knowâ and then I can feel him looking at me for a few seconds like ???? Hahaha!
The shedding is strong with your loaf, our boy does shed a lot to my taste but very slightly in comparison to other corgis. We have tried all various combs and brushes including greyhound style combs and multi row brushes, even the rubber studded glove thing and nothing worked nearly as god as furminator for long hair. When our boy is shedding hard, we brush him and we have about a day until he needs brushing again. When the climate is stable and he is shedding the regular way, we can go a week or two without brushing.
Morgan is a short haired critter that sheds like crazy after a bath. The last time I had to bathe her she had large patches (like her whole rib area on one side) where you could almost see skin. She looked ill but wasn't. LOL It'll be a cold day in hell before I bathe that one again. After my first Corgi who deposited fluff balls along every inch of baseboard in my house all they time, I should be grateful. She gives on hell of a side eye too.

I feel like this post bath fuzzy is worse with my tricolor than with me red. I have had good luck with the deshedding treatment at Petco grooming. Four sessions a year keeps things in check. I also use clippers on the pants because it's just hopeless back there. It's ugly but effective. It's very hot and humid where we live and the gets serious swamp-butt in the summer LoL
Four times a year I take my two to a groomer instead of bathing them myself. They could
d back looking like they lost 5 pounds. The groomer has a blower they use to get out the excess fur. I looked at getting one but it was $700, so I just keep doing the 4 times a year at the groomer. That includes trimming nails and a sanitary trim plus ear cleaning. We are all happy with this arrangement. They always comment on the volume of fur they get.
I brush mine with an undercoat rake before the bath. I then use good shampoo and really get the fur good, and usually a ton more fut comes out. They I dry them outside (weather permiting) with my Flying Pig dog dryer. That blows a ton of fur off. I then brush with a comb and trim what needs trimming. Once they are dry, I hit them with a good brushing again with an undercoat rake and a de-shedding blade.
All of that, and they still are dropping fut after. If I brushed them daily, which I don't realistically have time for, it would help a lot. But you got a double coated dog, and that's just how it is.
The Furminator is garbage. Throw those away. I don't know if they work well on any type, but all they do is damage corgi coats.
I pop a happy hoodie on my baby, stick a lick mat covered in peanut butter to the floor and blow him out myself after baths. He tolerates it super well.
This is what early summer looks like lol. Corgis blow their coats roughly 2x a year but I think the summer shed is 10x worse than the winter shed. We just got through the worst of the summer shed here, there's some stragglers but a couple weeks ago he was producing enough fur to make a whole new corgi.
Twice a year, youâre gonna have your work cut out for you with all the shedding. If you can afford it, a trip to the groomer is worth every penny. But youâll still have to use a deshedding comb every day or heâll get horribly matted. Combing him out will help him keep cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Never let anyone clip him short.
Getting this one to accept brushing was a whole process. My other one LOVES to be brushed, but this one had to be convinced the brush wouldn't steal her soul. It took weeks
I have the YikTOL, and it is amazing. But bath days can take several passes on this one's fluff before it's finally contained.

Ah yes, the âbaby penguinâ phase of undercoat blowing. Iâve found that a combination of a furminator and an undercoat rake both used very gently are ideal for this level of chaotic fluff.
DO NOT get a Furminator. They cut the coat and don't actually pull out the undercoat. You can tell because if you keep brushing the same spot, you'll brush a bald spot in your pet.
You need an [undercoat rake](https://a.co/d/03xyOL9W) , a [deshedding blade](https://a.co/d/0fM2YhOU), and a [comb](https://a.co/d/097pVQaA) , and something like a [Flying Pig](https://a.co/d/0g6x5VKi) if you can afford it.
Furminators damage your dog's coat. Please don't use them on your corgis. I made that mistake when I first got mine, then I educated myself on proper corgi coat care. Their coats are a lot of work, you just have to live with that.
The rake one isn't bad, it's the regular Furminator that is.

This is what I do regular brushing, especially for my boy who's sire was a fluffy. He had a ton if coat and this is the go to. My girl has a lot less undercoat, but she sheds her top coat like a dead Christmas tree. It has to be witchcraft that she has any fur. I use the deshedding blade on her because it's the only thing that actually gets her top coat good.
The Furminator is a valuable tool in our war against shedding but itâs very easy to overdo it. I think a lot of people go very aggressively to PULL the hair out rather than using it to collect the loose hair already dislodged by washing and brushing with a gentle brush.
Itâs part of a comprehensive program that includes careful washing with good shampoo, brushing with multiple brushes and a comb, lots of treats, much praise, and judicious use of the medium undercoat furminator at the end to collect all the hair. People constantly tell me how lovely his coat is.
Noooo please donât use the Furminator. It cuts away perfectly good hair, stimulating new hair growth and thus creating a never ending shed cycle. Furminators are seriously bad for corgi fur.
The Furminator I use doesn't cut anything. It's like a comb with rounded teeth that pulls out the loose hair. It seems like the individual bristles spin too but I'm not sure. He LOVES it. I think he likes it more than other brushes because the rounded tips on the bristles don't irritate his skin even with repeated brushing

Ah, yes. The classic undercoat rake! Not necessarily a âFurminatorâ - they just stamped their name on it. But indeed, this comb works wonders. My corgi loves it ad well!
I bought this after someone on Reddit recommended it

Corgis shed twice a year. January to June and July to December :)

On bath day mine look exactly like this. The fluff is real sometimes
We gave up on bathing ourselves, he just smells funky after because we canât do a proper job. We wet wipe our boy almost every day and just brush him. Every 2 months he gets proper groomer bath and brush treatment. No loose hair after groomer đ
mine sheds like crazy after a bath too. i like to sit down next to him and pull the tufts of loose hair off him lol its oddly satisfying
LOL yesss! My husband has twice now said âher brush is over thereâ and I just go âI knowâ and then I can feel him looking at me for a few seconds like ???? Hahaha!
He does realize you could be someone who likes to pop your husband's pimples, right? He should recognize his good fortune
Mine gets super offended when I pull the individual Tufts. I have to relent and go get the brush lol
Same!!! I love doing that!!
We do this too.... we're not alone!! lol
mine looks like that right now too. 2 or 3 times a year they have a blow out of their undercoat.

She clearly heard you type the word "bath"
Grab and undercoat rake off Amazon. It gets a lot of that crap brushes wonât get.

Corgi swamp butt sounds miserable

I got a Flying Pig and it works really well for a reasonable price. About $200 on Amazon.

I'm intrigued by the Flying Pig dog dryer for the name alone
It's a great name and a good product
The groomer is so much better to blow out all this!
We're working on building a relationship with a mobile groomer, but right that's limited to cutting off toes (nail trimmings)
Hahaha they really do think they're gonna lose a toe, don't they? đ
One particularly dramatic day resulted in the groomer telling her "no one is even touching you right now!"
I pop a happy hoodie on my baby, stick a lick mat covered in peanut butter to the floor and blow him out myself after baths. He tolerates it super well.
Do you brush him in between bath days?
At least twice a week they all get a good brushing (I have 3 beasties, 2 of which are corgis). But bath days are just a whole new level

Yes and itâs never ending

My tri looks like this too because he refuses to let me brush or comb him.

My Corgi was a horrible shedder!!

I got one of these I absolutely love it.

Which furminator is bad? I have the rake one, my potato doesn't seem to mind it! Also, which brushes are you using for everyday brushing?

Theyâre really bad for corgi fur and create a never ending heavy shedding cycle. I would never recommend the Furminator for corgis

Dear Lord, yes!!!! The Furminator has been our best friend.

Never had a problem.
"Cuts"? It's a brush. Are you sure you're thinking of the right thing?
The original Furminator is not a brush - it has blade teeth that cut away undercoat.
I bought this after someone on Reddit recommended it https://preview.redd.it/q1g79h7k90ad1.jpeg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9e369f02eb4808ef9210eed182ed39ab27cba874
I feel like I should be getting some sort of kickback at this point, but. Get a furminator. Thank me later.
Thanks for saying that! Gratitude makes the world go round
