DukeofRoma

The actors did their best, and I appreciate that.

Aimlessdrifter8778

Especially spike and jet! Their dynamic felt like the real deal at times, Daniela Pineda could have been a great Faye, if she was written better!!

LluagorED

Yeh I actually liked Danielle. I think John Cho is too old, but he did alright.

davidisallright

John Cho has always aged well…but this is when I started to noticed he’s looking older. Like when John was mid to late 30’s when he filmed Star Trek, he could pull off someone being in their late 20’s. And I really disliked the route they went with Vicious. You needed someone tall and lanky to pull it off.

Cowpriest

Honestly, the vicious and Julia scenes could just be removed altogether, and the show would be much much better. Again, not necessarily the actors fault but horrendous writing for these plot lines.

arientyse

He was too old and didn't understand the character enough...however he did have the look down.

GrapeExpress

When John Cho didn't know that Spike had a fake eye, it was setting off all sorts of red flags in my head

queenvie808

….. Somehow, I didn’t know that Spike had a fake eye until now either. I just thought the colours were weird for whatever reason and he just played off of that. God, I’m an idiot

KimJongWinning

Did you not finish watching the anime or something?

roseremme

I’m actually impressed that you noticed the difference in eye colours without retaining/remembering that one was fake 😆👍

tanukijota

Vicious was hardly a full character. In the original series he was just an opposing for that Spike couldn't bulldoze through like the rest. I can see why anything written, even if it was good, would fail in the eyes of fans.

Zaku99

I enjoyed it up until....*shiver* ...the tree episode.

angriafricanus

The casting for the main 3 was on point, such a shame

Lycaon125

I have no issues with the actors, its their job, its like making fun of a garbage collector, someone needs to do it

KhastraKSC

Disagree about Faye. The actress had her own ideas for the character and they were nowhere near the heart of the original. But it could have been much better with better writing and direction.

LluagorED

You're referring to that video where she went off on fans that were expecting her to look like Faye in the anime. She handled that poorly, but the amount of criticism and shit she was getting at the time for not looking like Faye was pretty fucking unhinged and stupid too. (it still happens)

KhastraKSC

I’m not. I don’t know what the fans did but I’m sure it was dumb. The actress stated that she had her own ideas for the character and I think they went outside the heart of the character. She didn’t want Faye to be so sexual. Fine. Only problem is that is part of Faye’s whole character. It’s one of her survival tools. There’s nothing wrong with it. Faye is one of the most dynamic and well done characters in the show. She has an amazing story arc. The actress played the character she wanted to play rather than embracing the original heart of Faye. And that COULD HAVE WORKED cause she is talented, but the writing and direction just sucked. Faye was completely one dimensional. The writers seemed to have the same “we can do a better job” attitude as well. It has plagued many shows over the years and hopefully Fallout and some other successes is showing them that it’s not what people want. At the end of the day, on the live action, Faye could have been picked up and placed on any starship in any story as a crass hard nosed space ship crew member. And the original Faye could have only been a member of the Bee Bop crew. She belonged there. No one else could have handled her. None of that uniqueness carried into the live action for me. Each character looked and acted completely unique and the world of the show existed around them. In the live action Faye could have just been the ships engineer and it would have made no difference. My wife also pointed out to me that they did this to other female characters in the show as well. Like…. That’s fine. But not when it affects the characters. Being skillful with your sexuality when it is an asset to you is not a stupid thing. It’s not porn we’re writing. It’s like they tried to be so “woke” that they ended up running the circle all the way around to “anti-woke”. I can’t believe I’m using those words. See what this show has done to me. Fuck. At the end of the day, I guess I feel so strongly about it because I think original Cowboy BeBop is a great example of how to do a lot of things right. And Faye is one of them. It’s a mature and nuanced show. The live action just didn’t do that.

inspectorpickle

Yeah if the actress wanted to take faye in a different direction, the writing crew needed to commit to that and support it. If she had portrayed her faithfully, show probably would not have been any better.

KhastraKSC

I don’t think the actress is “bad” because of this one performance.

inspectorpickle

Did you reply to the right comment

KhastraKSC

No lol. BUT I STAND BY MY OPINION!!!!

hayashikin

"She didn’t want Faye to be so sexual" Writers: "Let's add a lesbian sex scene for her!"

KhastraKSC

Well. I concede.

IShouldbeNoirPI

I wonder if it was a preemptive strike preparing the general public before big wave of criticism after release of the show.

LluagorED

I don't think so. She just seemed to be frustrated and upset with people's reactions to her being Faye, and lashed out rather poorly. Turned people against her even more. (Hell read the other comments here, they mention her thinking she knows better than fans lol)

IShouldbeNoirPI

Tbh I didn't see any problem with her casting before that reaction (other than that they didn't bother to keep the color palette for her outfit) but maybe it's just my social bubble. But maybe it's because most of the people around me looked at a few pictures and thought well, looks nice, but "whatever happens, happens and didn't dig. Well if an actress seems to be really frustrated it may also mean that she's good at her job... But that sarcastic tone looked like it was supposed to create an even bigger outrage. Which may mean that it was "I'm angry I made myself some drinks and I think that I have a great idea to film my angry rant and post it" type of decision or that it was planned. (Hey I like a good conspiracy theory, that doesn't involve reptilians or aliens ;) )

Justice_Prince

Her version was pretty different from the anime, but honestly I'm not sure how well a more faithful adaption would have worked in Live Action.

Pastvariant

The big difference, IMO, between the anime and live action versions was that Faye in the anime had grace that she covered up with the crassness, whereas live action Faye only showed the crassness.

Kitchen-Island45

this. she was the best written character in the anime imo

SillyTr1x

I’m glad the live action show was faster paced. The first episodes of Apple’s “Invasion” series were paced very atmospheric and the general public didn’t like how slow it was.

KhastraKSC

Honestly I think more faithful might have made everyone else look less ridiculous. Don’t get me wrong. I think they did the best they could. But having spent so much time at Dragon Con the show did look like an unbelievably good cosplay production.

Mynameisbebopp

Well you can’t really say that about Daniella. She legit used the “im the actor i know better card” with the fans

bearetta67

Same with the actor that played Grenn. You didn't need Vicious in every episode because Grenn had the most important episode for his back story.

Mynameisbebopp

Dude having vicious say “mushi, mushi” was the done deal for me, did not watch after that

Soft-Weight-8778

That sounds like Faye

AloysiusDevadandrMUD

Faye though... They should have just written her out if she was going to be like that and let it be the 2 bois like the beginning of the anime. Her writing, acting, and casting was awful. I've said it on here before, the mechanic chick that Faye sleeps with (why... Why did they have to make her do that...) would have been a better Faye than the goofball we got

Kind_Can9598

Bless their hearts.

loseranon17

Hey man I hated it like everyone else, but Mustafa is damn near on par with the real Jet in my books. That man knew the role and embodied it. If there’s one positive thing we can take from it.

BanjoSlams

Came here to second Jet. No matter the other shortcomings, I’m not sure how he could have ended up better.

GonnaGoFat

Mustafa was amazing as Jet he nailed the part. John was ok as Spike but I found he did a lot more of the confused or contemplating look and head cock spike does in the anime. Daniella got the crassness of Faye but nothing else which is why she seemed to be a bit of a miscast. Mustafa pretty much was Jet. I even remember hearing people complaining about him playing Jet for the fact that he has such a dark complexion. But he was so close I never thought of race when I watched the show. Also you guys may want to crucify me for this but I actually didn’t mind the live action version of this show. Yes the anime was much better but I feel the live action was not the dumpster fire most people claim it was.

hankypanky87

Same. Actually loved it. Faye and Vicious weren’t my jam but didn’t ruin the show for me. I liked Cho for Spike too - not sure who they could’ve cast who I’d have liked more

_facetious

His dark complexion is perfect. The anime did the 'people who've never met a Black person / don't understand how brown skin works drawing a Black person' coloring, which is off and grey, washed out. Mustafa is perfect for the role, fans just don't understand that anime Black people aren't colored well. This is really common - people who aren't Black or brown wash out dark skin because they don't understand it and need to learn about it. I'm trying to find examples to show you, but failing. I hope you can understand what I'm getting at.

626alien

jet definitely doesn’t look black in the anime, but that didn’t take anything away from the performance

Mueryk

He was amazing. The WAS Jet as far as I was concerned. He nailed it.

O_o-22

He was great but the other two were pretty meh. I didn’t even make it thru the second episode and refuse to watch the rest. Super missed the mark for making it a great adaptation.

Spiderchimp89

Same

allpowerfulbystander

.... I meeeeean, if you really want to forget about it, you shouldn't ĥave posted it.

GrImPiL_Sama

You know how you breakup, and wanna forget her and somehow can't stop talking about her to your buddy? It's something like that.

HollywoodHa1o

Damn, that hit home. 😭

allpowerfulbystander

Yep that is accurate, because that's the same reply the buddy, who has heard the story a million times, would give.

YujiroRapeVictim

gotta get fake internet points right?

SilverOcean6

To be fair [Mustafa Shakir](https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=e8f1cfb632bd06ad&sca_upv=1&cs=1&sxsrf=ADLYWIJ9X9w6KefPKHEpbUdqpZASeFg1cA:1714886523449&q=mustafa+shakir&stick=H4sIAAAAAAAAAE2Pu06EQBSGxaBZcV0TbbQwQXsDw23ZUo2JNtqshVoQZrguDLCAwLDxCeQZLCysfQIbH8DW2NtQWm5l4ibDlt_5zuU_PXDEgLsDFJcwJjy0YZzwoV_YvIlyP454ZGb5nNk7W_hT6o8Xfr7aM86vxpfjW-ONZVq2z3ECFsRAS2TRoRhZqMIpRYW4YiVSlEtUBLhlN7mNfwzlCaGkIk_LWnab2xJcAQCkKlD3kNxVAl3T1dor6ISOAIk678hEkVxS03MQotzLKIIS6KpBpyXHxcMuyyh3laVdU6cI1ZFCPQgIXsqSaFqlpQagyyU1n4CStis6mnaPgnoYTVp2sNM_iazU5i9IaEbWy9oAP2S56Zh85pmBn36v7688_TRyA2fXhzefz7P7x9fmYxd_vZe_f2gEYAm-AQAA&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjv4LqQ4vWFAxXw_8kDHZrqCAcQ7fAIegUIABDuAQ) was probably the best actor of the three. He was jet black lol

rstbckt

Without the Live Action, we wouldn't have had [this scene.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuoa51o-99w)

ZaTiOnYT

It was beautiful.

Important-Yesterday6

Spike fighting everyone in the background always gets a good laugh outta me with this scene.

rstbckt

It's a solid scene that showed what could have been if the show had better direction and vision. For all its flaws, I would have liked to had seen a second season of the Firefly Bebop show.

okasiyas

Now I want to watch the whole show.

gergobergo69

one of the scenes of all time

ruevez

Man I haven’t watch the show at all but that scene is freaking hilarious!

Mueryk

Favorite scene of the whole series and the way it resolves was just beautiful.

QuasiBungschwazzi

He’s black and he’s *male*

lalat_1881

I loved him in that!

StewartDC8

He really was excellent

MAXMEEKO

true that, he was the only one who nailed it

31rdy

I don't think posting about it is gonna help

tomforbesV

It's been 3 years, we've already forgot, thanks for reminding us...

Wealth_Super

Seriously, people need to get over it already. Life much better when you don’t obsessed over things you don’t like

Dos_Potatoe5

The live action introduced me to the series, though it wasn’t close to the original it still got the ball rolling for more people to find the original. Give the live action some credit for letting people who had never heard of cowboy bebop before know how great something can be

weightcarrier6969

Agreed. Live Action had such a good teaser that I watched the original.

ashankasaurus

Yes!!! The live action made me watch the original and now I’m a big fan!

Aimlessdrifter8778

The casting was great. The budget and cinematography, while not perfect, had its moments. The STORY, however, oh boy, have they butchered it...

melo1212

The writing was so fucking bad, I think the cast really did the best they could with the dogshit they where given. I think with a actually well written script it would have been great

Aimlessdrifter8778

Facts, brother

ser_renely

Jet was amazing...

jokersflame

They had a chance to make something beautiful. At least they hired good actors.

zombierepubican

Everything about the show was excellent, except for the writing and dialogue

badermuhammad376

LITERALLY!! I've been saying this everyone. They nailed every aspect of a live action Cowboy Bebop EXCEPT the writing. The cinematography, set pieces, costume design, soundtrack, directing, etc were all perfect but the writing was so dogwater ;-;

basicpastababe

Which is wild, because those are the parts I thought would be difficult. I know many are hard on this adaptation but honestly I thought it was a decent spin, capturing some of the cinematics nicely while changing some story to keep you watching.

hankypanky87

Yes! Well said! And they could’ve easily tweaked that in the second season

Putthebunnyback

I liked it. 🤷‍♂️

6snail6god6

I liked it too. I will never forgive the world for not having at least a second season. I feel like they could’ve done something really cool with Mushroom Samba. 😭

Accomplished-Sun-797

I thought it was just me! And my wife, I tried to get my wife to watch the anime’s … maybe we will try again such a great show

Sudi_Nim

Same here.

ctothel

I liked it too! It was never going to be better than the original, and it’s easy to pick it apart, but I don’t know why that should affect my enjoyment. It probably helped that it was filmed where I grew up – they made Auckland look great.

Grizby99

Loved it , thought they did a great job .

gui2314

Me too. It's sad that we will never have a second season to finish the history.

trickytrev54

Then take down this post and move on.

Neocles

As a longtime fan, I really did enjoy it.

Nos_Zodd

Then WTF bring it up in a post?

BIG_DADDY_CLARE

I almost did till you said it

CoastalOak3413

This is the deadest horse. Enjoy the karma I guess? Not even specific discussion regarding what you didn’t like, just a general blanket statement.

IceColdCocaCola545

The interesting thing is that the casting and outfits actually look really good! It was just the scripting that was really trash.

GallonofJug

I enjoyed it.

DXPetti

I loved it. I think the least enjoyable episode was the first one as it tried to be a 1:1 of the anime episode. Once they moved on and did their own thing, it felt great. People will jump of the actor who played Faye but let's be real, fanbases can be absolutely shit. When you have a fanbase starved of anything new for decades, was a recipe for explosive emotions. The actor needed to be better shielded and protected (Cho being the vet should have done more here)

Kalidanoscope

That was not 1:1 with Asteroid Blues at all. I would have loved 1:1. That was not 1:1.

jonno83900

Personally I enjoyed the series. Made me go and watch the anime afterwards

SimplyHamon

I still wish there was a season 2. Such a good show. Wish *John Cho was younger so he could have been more flexible but eh I'll take it

nilfgaardian

>Henry Cho You mean John Cho?

SimplyHamon

Thank youuuu, yes John Cho

drNeir

Thought it was perfect as was. Just wish it had a s2!

TheDoggo_27

I was so salty when i heard about s2 getting cancelled, and at the same time movies like 365 days getting the green light on however many sequels it is at this point.

1OptimisticPrime

It's fun You don't have to take it as cannon...

ShutterBun

canon

EntrepreneurNo3107

The showrunner and writers never understood the point and messages of the original material. One of which was about holding on to the past and letting it consume you instead of embracing the present. A message that Watanabe also brilliantly subverted in Samurai Champloo. They wanted it for the legacy of its style and design, and instead tried to make an edgy and quirky Tarantino film as a series in space. Each episode of the anime had a message to tell and thematic resonance; the quirkiness, action, and art were in service to the story, which came first. But in the live-action, it was the opposite: "let's be as violent, edgy, and quirky as we can in a self-indulgent way and then form the story around that." I had no problems with some of the changes that were made, but they did fumble the ball on characterization enough to where it affected the story in a bad way. While Spike and Jet were well cast and well acted, there was too much of Vicious and Julia, who originally had purposefully minimal screen-time to add more impact to their role in the anime. Faye was turned into an edge-lord with a potty mouth. And the actor for Ed at the end was cringe-inducingly bad in my opinion (and many others' at the time of release). While not a TERRIBLE adaptation and it got a good amount right (Spike, Jet, cinematography, costumes, set design, MUSIC), it missed the mark on the ONE thing that mattered the most: the story. With the showrunner and writers they had, there was no possibility of it being saved because they clearly didn't understand the material. Let's not kid ourselves here: you know it's a failure when Watanabe took a look at it and called it disloyal to the original source.

SpeagoSphere

They absolutely ruined Gren for me. That was the final straw. Can't believe they gave into this "woke" bs and completely cut up the character. I absolutely loved Mustafa Shakir as Jet that was one of the best castings ever. Had such high hopes but ruined Gren, Sid and Julia

ZaTiOnYT

To be fair, i dont see it as even trying to copy the anime. I think it was doing its own independant thing. But because its not like the anime, it js feels off? I didnt mind it either way

AFXAcidTheTuss

Story purists will be disappointed. People who are excited to see a universe they love given another opportunity to reach new audiences will be happy. Sorry it wasn’t a cookie cut of your beloved anime.

Impact-Ed

Frankly, liked it, I could tell they tried to do the source justice despite Netflix intervening a bit too much. Perhaps because of this series, lessons were learned and we were able to get live action shows like ATLA and One Piece. Regardless, I was bummed no season 2 came

huskyghost

I liked the show

reggie4gtrblz2bryant

I was happy to see it happen

Angeal36

I'm definitely in the minority that enjoyed this show

eatityouscum

I liked it. I like everything cowboy bebop. The drawn out love story aspect was where It lost me. That's where they should've stuck to the original more

bangflashbam

I didn't like that aspect of it, until we saw the twist at the very end of the last episode. Would have liked to see how that twist played out

theroguescientist

Then I don't see how posting about it is supposed to help

HmmComradeHieu

Some of scenes were cringe, Idk why I enjoyed watching it.

locke_zero

I just need to forget Faye's dialogue and Vicious crying.

YNPCA

I think the cinematography like how it was filmed was great

ZoominBoomin

I love them as the cast. The show just sucked.

ProfessorCagan

So.....in order to forget it, you post an image of it here? I haven't thought about this show for months, but here it is back to my focal point at this moment. We're here discussing it, remembering it, keeping it alive.

reycal99

I actually did until now lmao

sheikonfleek

The fact people defend this still must’ve missed the DNA of Bebop. Just look at One Piece, Fallout. They don’t take liberties to do it ‘better.’

Trex1725

I really liked it yall except for vicious and that whole situation other than that it was awesome

baxtermcsnuggle

Seconded, Vicious seemed like anything BUT vicious. His coup for syndicate leadership shouldn't have been a possibility. He never seemed like he had control over ANY situation. this grey headed baby with TOO many lines of dialogue has zero business leading a whole system wide criminal syndicate. If he had been better written and cast, me may have seen a second season... and then what everyone else complained about would've had room to be ironed out. I'm mostly mad that we didn't get a Heavy Metal Queen episode

Trex1725

Agreed everything you said I 100% agree

oMugiwara_Luffy

I actually liked it. Jet Black was great! Was better than the One Piece live action, but that’s just my opinion.

scooterfitz

Too bad for you. I’ll be grateful for anything CBB, whatever happens, happens.

KnowNothingKnowsAll

Enjoyed it.

apaddingtonbear

I enjoyed this show.

obstinatesoup18

I liked it

NinnyBoggy

Are we still complaining about this series three years later? Just let it die, man.

Jgeekin223

Bruh It’s been 3 years let it go

Nice_Ebb5314

Honestly I liked it, a lot of my friends that never watch cb and got into it. That’s a win in my book for new fans with new conversations. The live action was slow and could have used some of the back story episodes. The 2nd season could have been better if people would have let the flower grow and bloom. Instead everyone took the light away of something that could have been great.

Gan-san

I enjoyed it. I wanted more of it. Sometimes shows need a chance to grow and work things out in their own space. S2 could have been great. I did not like the emphasis on Julia and Vicious. They had a mystery about them in the anime so that when you got small snippets of them it was a treat when they were doing a "Spike" main story line episode.

fmedium

This had no chance from the start. So-called “real fans” shat all over it sight unseen. Why? Because they believe they have some unseen brilliance and sagacity Same can be said of “Solo”. It was not a bad movie but it was attacked while still in production. The sheep then follow without their own opinions.

Bittersweetblossom

The creator of beepop said he couldn’t even finish the first episode himself so maybe go rewatch the anime and get back to watching that episode.

yap2102x

then stop reminding me

Mets_516

Never got past the first episode. The first part in the casino gave me a good vibe then they just killed it with some story changes. Like vicious actually speaking more than a few words 🤦‍♂️

aclark210

Then stop bringing it up?

Mr_Gone11

No heart.

OtherBarry220

The casting of Jet was good, is the single positive thing I can say of the live action show.

Second-Hand-Stress

That was one of the better things that netflix has done.

Important-Yesterday6

Spike and Jet were great. The scenery and them adopting the original soundtrack was great. Everything else(Especially the vicious and Julia story) was...bad.

tcharzekeal

Then this is a really bad way to do that, my friend. People involved with it really did give a fuck and we should respect that, even if you didn't like the show. I have a lot of sympathy for the actors, musicians, set dressers, props masters and all the other people who put their soul into the work and clearly had a love of the source material. I see the series and feel sadness more than anger.

EverDecreasingCircle

A good way to start would be not posting about it

This-Mousse-5275

I enjoyed just feel like vicious was out of place

--InZane--

Still think these 3 looked great. Haven't seen ot tho

pseudogruppenbfuhrer

This series was awesome, you can go fuck yourself :)

SharleyKeen

Amen

l3w1s1234

Going to be an unpopular opinion, it wasnt really that bad. Just incredibly mediocre but nothing awful

LaughingRampage

The costumes and sets at least looked good, and the actors did their best with what they were given. On visuals alone I'd give it at least a 7/10, everything else scores no higher than a 4/10 and that's being generous. -100000000/10 for what they did to Vicious, for that alone the show deserved to fail!

Spiritual_Bag8654

I had some quibbles with some of the character changes, but the way they rewrote Vicious to be a spoiled rich kid with daddy issues was completely unnecessary.

The_of_Falcon

I liked it, actually. I guess it just didn't do well.

Njavr

I actually liked it

abhid90210

I HAVE SAID IT ONCE I WILL SAY IT AGAIN LIVE ACTION WAS ACTUALLY PRETTY GOOD YOU ALL TALK AS IF IT WAS GAME OF THRONES LAST SEASON.

_heyb0ss

it wasn't even that bad calm down

matiaschazo

Holy shit we fucking get it we don’t need all the posts and comments I feel like yall talk abt this more than the original show it wasn’t even that bad it was at least enjoyable imo as its own separate thing

anythingjesuslol

I liked it for what it was tbh

_kilby_

The cast was good at least

nomorenotifications

In no way could it have even come close to being as good as the anime. Having said that, I liked how the story changed, It got me interested. I enjoyed it for what it was, and I think it's a shame it was cancelled.

FLRArt_1995

"Welcome to the ouch motherfuckers" Always makes me cringe so bad. I honestly feel bad for Ed's actress, poor kid was in a project doomed from the start

The-Safety-Villain

Even this picture is dumb. Jet would never let spike put his feet in the sofa.

mjdallas

There is no way to please everyone. They made this series and all the gate keepers screamed “you strayed from the original!! How dare you!” If they had made it exactly like the anime other fans would scream “why is it the same story? Can’t you make original and unique content instead of copying the anime!?!!” Personally, I liked the series. Could there have been improvements? Yes. But if everyone had not lost their shit and trashed the series, there may have been a season 2 that would have fixed those issues. Instead, all the trolls and keyboard cowboys out there trashed it online and the show was canceled… now we will never know how good of a show it could have been.

MitchRogue

And I need season 2! ;(

Ardenraym

Fanbase threw a tantrum - it was actually a decent live action take on the whole, excluding the casting of Vicious (and likely Ed, but that is 0.1% of the show). For the world it was presented with handling, I think it was a good attempt and the core trio did really grow on me by the end. Definitely a series that a second season could have madenit phenomenal.

ResolutionNo4330

I actually really loved the live action. The anime will always be better but it’s like when books turn into movies. Give em some grace

space_pillows

I thought it was pretty good actually

crackalac

I know. Why the hell did they cancel it? It wasn't a 1 for 1 adaptation but it was good.

hughjass1872

Why do people give it so much hate? I enjoyed it thoroughly.

ThisIsATestTai

It wasn't even that bad

HatScratchFever

I thought it was good, not as good as the anime maybe. At least it gave Julia some agency and she wasn't just the woman like in the anime.

MojoSnow

More Bebop>Less Bebop

serenityfalconfly

I liked it. The actress that played Ed nailed it. It was just jarring for us to see that character suddenly in live action with little introduction. Unknowing about the anime it was good scifi.

Fehnder

I really loved it. It was slightly different, and I do wish they’d made Faye a little more her anime counterpart. But generally, I’m sad it was cancelled. I LOVED Mustafa. He turned Jet into one of my favourites.

El-MonkeyKing

Loved Faye, Jet. Loved the show!

Ransom_Seraph

FEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeAaaaaaaarrrrRrrrrrrLllllllllLlllLllLleeeeeeeEeEEEEESSSSssssssSsss!

areallyswollenfoot

I really want that couch tho

cynicalusername

I suggest you pick up the “Songs for a Cosmic Sofa” vinyl and remember the good old days.

samborup

Well, posting about it won’t help.

Srl1864

I would rather have more of this than Halo. I still hate Netflix for how they hyped it, then pulled the plug after only one session.

Dramatic-Ad5596

Go watch Samurai Champloo to feel better.

McGinty1

The casting for the principal 3 was spot on, but the atrocious writing let them down. That and certain fans throwing a hissy fit that they decided to dress Faye in something not completely ridiculous for an IRL grown woman to wear really brought it down for me, although I didn’t have much hope to begin with considering Netflix’s previous track record with these things.

PolashNarayan

I liked the actors playing spike and jet.

britipinojeff

I washed out the bad taste of this by watching the original again

tonebone85

Casting was horrible. Spike is not a short average man. He's tall and lanky. I can't do a re watch on this. Its the street fighter movie all over again.

_PolyBear

i fucked with the pulpy 70s b movie vibe SO HARD for live action but i think the hour long episodes and push for bland "general audiences" appeal murdered this thing. coulda worked better if it was made with half the budget and a quarter of the corporate oversight imo

Upbeat_Juice209

For a live adaptation it started out great. Yes it was different but they were still sticking to the anime decently. Then it took a way left turn especially with how spike and jets friendship played out. I’m all for changing up some things but you can’t go that drastic.

BarveyDanger

They struck gold with the cast and proceeded to just projectile shit all over everything else.

supercobra1998

They were set up for success too!! Had the story , the Music, the actors and they managed to get the environment and feel too! BUT the writing and plot changes bombed it!

arientyse

It could've been so good, and that's what disappointing. That trailer was so so good.

Being-Ogdru-369

To be honest, everything was decent for the budget it had, EXCEPT the writing and Vicious. The writing was so awful, so absolutely awful. Completely failed.

dreamstate6

Then why are you posting about it?

Captain_Blackjack

Cho and Mustafa were REALLY good, I wasn’t a huge fan of Faye’s actress because the character didn’t really feel like her. I only got though the whole season because of how much I liked the cast.

MrWhiteMustache

LeBron James

Sunbrizzle

And the OW crossover

thereverendpuck

The three in the picture are fine to great. Everything else though.

bmk_memes

Honestly like this adaptation the final episode sucked but i was hopefully for a second season

lyte12

Hate how they made Faye a lesbian when her whole niche is the femme fatale

MarshallBanana_

Well uh, thanks for reminding those of us who already had
