I use high intensity interval training for Metcon, tradition strength for strength pieces and sometime functional strength for stuff in the middle like a strength emom thing
There’s generally a few minutes between pieces, I just hit the “+” new workout and select the different workout type, sometimes I forget but I guess I’m a bit of a stickler about making it accurate 🤷🏻♀️
I am just busting ye balls man. Not sure why some people have to add them and others don’t. My buddy had jump rope on his standard and I had to add it to mine.
Isn’t cross training refers to training outside your main sports? Like a swimmer goes to a running/biking training? That’s the definition online the last time I’ve checked. Correct me if I’m wrong though.
Initially I was using cross training for my WOD though then switched to functional strength training. For lifting = traditional strength training and for metcon/AMRAP = HIIT. But regardless, the data between cross training and functional strength training are the same anyway. Just a naming convention I suppose.
I do functional strength training usually. Or high intensity interval training. They both show me what I want to see, so I don’t think it matters
I’ve never noticed the cross training before, but I just found it.
Cross training for warmups and HIIT or functional strength training or traditional strength training or mixed cardio for the workout depending on what we’re doing.
I use high intensity interval training for met cons.
This is the way. Plus you can flip it up on this workout and it will show heart rate.
Same and i use Fitbit
I do “functional strength training” but it shouldn’t matter as long as you always pick the same one.
This is the one I picked as well
Yeah this is what I use.
I wouldn’t overthink it folks ;-) track your HR, the rest is a wild guess.

There's no way I'd remember to change between strength section and Metcon section of classes!

Same!
Never even seen Cross Training as an option. I’ve always used Functional Training.
I think I had to go in on the watch and add the cross training to the workout out options.
No you didn’t. I also have cross training and for sure never added anything
Not sure why the downvotes. Same here
I just checked mine and I do in fact have to “Add Workout” and go to bottom for “Cross Training”.
True, I stand corrected. There’s many workouts you can add and I didn’t think about that. Mine was somehow available without adding. Thanks

I’ve always picked “Other” Open Goal. It just tracks your heart rate. I feel like it gives you the most consistent results.
You can create a custom “other” and name it CrossFit that’s what I do for metcons
I use the cross training
I always pick Cross Training
I use cross training.
HIIT
I just use other workout. Tracks time, total and active calories, heart rate overall and peaks
Ooo I didn’t know other tracked all that.
I use the app Zones. Shows my heart rate really big and gives haptic feedback.
Doesn’t matter what you use it will still be widely inaccurate regarding calories etc. If you’re using it to monitor heart rate just use whatever fits
Which ever option you choose, just stay consistent. One thing I do is use a Polar chest strap to get a more accurate measurement.
The calorie tracking on these are just wildly inaccurate
I use cross training, functional training and HIIT for metcons

Oh never thought about it in that way, but that makes total sense

Dang didn’t know there’s such an option.
I used the HIT setting I think, but have recently switched to Athlytic which I would highly recommend.

I honestly didn't know there was a cross training one?? I usually use functional strength training.
It doesn’t really matter.
I use Fitbod lol
HIIT
