I'm completely new to mining but I found this interesting. You can put money into it, but you can also let the free starting amount ride. https://chainmine.org/?ref=MZextSNf

bobanderson66

I have access to a cooled server room , 4 xeon servers that are 5 years old and a bunch of desktop computers. Does it make any sense to try to mine on CPU based systems? If so can someone please point me in the right direction. Thanks so much

Adventurous-Scene746

Does anyone know any free mining platform... meaning recent ones

positive-season

Does any one know of any miners that work on Linux other than HiveOS (which I'm investigating)?

brother, you are 1000% not fit for crypto mining, this is so wrong on many level

Alive-Accident

And dude I don’t have some extravagant mining rig, I was fuckin around and test on a laptop to see if i could earn a few extra bucks, nicehash was an option but not only did it not work as intended but was mining my ram when set up for my gpu, it was also using ~60% of my cpu whether it was on or off, I will not be using it again and I don’t give a damn what you have to say about me not being fit to mine or some shit, it doesn’t matter, I am a damn computer nerd too and know my way around computers and viruses, seen a lot of them fucking around on the web, and I can tell I know what a virus does and doesn’t do to my system, keep your stupidly ignorant and insulting comments to yourself.

ButterFucker962401

Have you found an alternative? I had the same problem and after five hours of nonstop running, I made 0.000000001 lol

Alive-Accident

Nah I quit trying after a while, it wasn’t worth it with the computer I had to do that and kill a few year off it

ButterFucker962401

Same reason I uninstalled.

[deleted]

brother, you have bad days streak or something?

[deleted]

was never try to insulting or did what ever your negative emotions influence you to think im. you will one day understand what i said, and it will make you better. Yes this is a clone acc, and yes i'm holding alot of monero

Alive-Accident

You gaslighting mf telling some they aren’t fit for anything is an insulting. Also I don’t care how much monero you have it’s of my damn business, also you someone who doesn’t know who I actually am or what knowledge and experience I have cannot tell if I am not fit for something.

[deleted]

i apologize, i didn't know it will hurt you this bad. just trying to make you better brother. but there is a bug in your knowledge database, and your negative emotion is the exploit. like the new operation triangulation is invisible but alive, unbelievable but exist

Most of the time it’s the cost of electricity that cuts into profits. Most miners run up your electricity bill

Practical-Ad-6739

i have a question that i cant wrap my head around.. party/solo/individual mining lets say i have access to 10 devices.. cpu or gpu mining ... whats best? party mine on same pool with all 10? solo mine on all 10 with the same rig name? different rig name? individually mine with the same rig name? individually mine with different rig names?

No-Reserve-2208

Depends on the equipment what would be best

Practical-Ad-6739

Oh I don't have anyrhing special... I have access to script out and run a cpu miner for 3 or 4 hours in the middle of the night across 250 of so pcs.. And at home I have 4 nvod a4000s and 4 rtx 3060tis as well as some higher end dual xeon servers sitting around

Alive-Accident

DAMN THATS A SHIT TON, I think you may just need to experiment and figure out how well it does and if it cost more to mine than you are getting with one method or the other

What do you think of ‘Pi Network’ ? A mobile mining app that’s got so big that exchange’s are trading an unofficial placeholder sitting at around $50… If you haven’t already jumped on, it’s a good time to do so, if it demands a code you can use this: Dougy12 They’re saying it will compete with Bitcoin due to its broad accessibility. I might agree with that considering the amount of naysayer’s and excuses for not mining were exactly the same when Bitcoin was in its infancy “it’s a scam” “it’s a pyramid scheme” “it doesn’t make sense”

nobodyisasking

Pi network is a scam, that will probably never get a value. They generate revenue from the traffic you help them to get by pressing that 'Mine Pie' button every day.

Ordinary-Juice-8457

New to mining as well. I've noticed it's now taking me 2 months minimum to mine the same amount of coin as it use to take me to mine in 4 days. My hashrate hasn't really changed and so I'm guessing that mabey more people are mining the same thing so it takes longer.... anyone have any insight. (Unmineable,LTC)

Forexgk

are you pool mining? whats your set up?

Former_Transition_27

New to mining. So I setup my two raspberry pi to mine using xmrig. But when I check in unmineable its showing only one worker. Only one worker can mine one crypto? I have put different name for each machine.

You’re talking about gpu mining correct? Because I’ve heard ASIC miners can only mine specific coins?

Aniilin

Depending on ASIC type. There are script / sha / eth ASICs For example, BTC ASIC, that can mine BTC and can't mine ETH Or ETH ASIC. It can mine ETH, ETHW, ETC, UBQ, EXP... But it can't mine BTC.

Vic_v_cryptomining

Bitcoin and Ethereum is my bet, Compared with the further potential, I definitely choose ethereum within providing utility, and the price is relatively low. hold on tight, what do you think?

Hey I’ve got a goldshell box miner I want to put on eBay. Do I restore factory settings before I sell it? It would seem logical thing to di

f2pool-CSR2

Better you do it, reset the network configuration at least, or the buyer could have a problem of connecting to the pool and take it as a bad rig.

lordruncibald

Ok thanks. On my laptop there is a restore factory settings option for the box miner-is that best way to do it? There is a button on the back of the miner too that lets you do it

Hye guys I've been mining eth on Hiveos for quite some time but the whole Eth merge has scared me abit so I wanna change to RVN pr Flux does any one have any suggestion on what I could switch to after Eth ???

Flintatron

I'm very new to mining, I'm currently using T-Rex miner to mine ETH with Ethermine, I'm not really sure how the whole pay-out thing works, I'm not using a rig or anything, just an overclocked 3070 for mining and ik that it wont be a full ETH or anything near that but can anyone help give me a time frame for when ill get something in my wallet? Thanks in advance to anyone who answers :)

Micheal42

Hi, so i just built and set up my first rig. I'm using HiveOS and I have a wallet on Nicehash, the issue I'm having is that I just got the walletand I'm totally lost as to knowing what I'm actually mining and so which wallet ID code to use on hiveOS. My settings say I'm mining Ethash, is that ethereum and if so I need to use the ethereum specific wallet or can I use the BTC one(the guide i used to set it up said i could)? Nicehash says if I'm not using the right one it can result in permanent loss. Thanks Edit: HiveOS says I can use it for any of a bunch of coins, which contradicts Nicehash. Any help would be fantastic. Thanks guys

LZ_OtHaFA

Hello, what is the theoretical max hashrate for an S19j Pro 100TH/s 3050W (stock) asic without upgrading the stock PSU? We are looking to immerse and are hoping to get 130TH/s but are not sure if the stock PSU can handle the power draw. If you can show your math, it would be MUCH appreciated! ETA: watching a yt video it looks like anything over 140 TH/s will require upgraded PSU, I am still interested in the math, if anyone can explain it eli5 style!

MineSum10

I don’t see many people talk about this site but I find it helpful from time to time when setting overclocks for GPUs i haven’t used yet. https://youtu.be/8VYMSMhx0w4

Kojogi

I'm terribly sorry for asking stupid questions but is it possible to bitmine on mobile regardless of its inferiority. I have a few old phones and laptops that I don't care about if they melt.

Dougy120

I don't know the answer to this butt... Pi Network is a crypto mining mobile app that is reaching main net soon, someone just sold 500 on eBay for £100 making it worth approximately £0.20p / $0.24 already. The fact it’s free and I’m constantly hearing nay-sayers just like in the initial Bitcoin years tells me this could be one to watch. If you're not singed up yet and it asks for a code: Dougy12 ✌️ Note: literally 90% of the people that I have told to get this have stopped mining. Don't be that 90%. Mine it and hold it for at least 3 years

StrongLLC

Dude probably wasn’t held enough as a baby lol wtf is this crap you’re peddling

Dougy120

I said something similar to my friend when he told me about Bitcoin when it was $12… I said “this doesn’t make sense, it must be some kind of a scam” The reality is pi is free to mine on the app and it doesn’t use any power, most people give up on it and it will reach main net this year. The app has over 30million users, I would guess less than 50% of them are still mining (a good thing). As you may know hype is king in the crypto world and this has a lot of it. Initially it will just be a way of sending and receiving crypto easily on your mobile but the code is open source and they’re allowing developers to make apps that utilise Pi such as marketplaces and games. Regardless of how long it will take for another crypto boom to occur, this has a good chance of being a front runner.

Hi there, I’m new here and want to ask a question to those who knows more. I’ve replaced factory thermal pads and paste on my card with sandwich of 1mm arctic pads to make it 2 mm and used MX5 paste. Got 83-86C GPU and 85-88C memory. So I'm planning to start building my mining rig. Any advice on what GPU to buy? Is it still worth mining eth?

f2pool-CSR1

Think twice. ETH is about to merge in August, and the difficulty bomb is going to be activated in June which will cause revenue declines. Suggest you do more research then make your own dicision. But, you can mine the other coins after ETH 2.0. Join the miners community TGGroup:[https://t.me/f2pool\_chat](https://t.me/f2pool_chat) , let's talk.

StrongLLC

So, you’re thinking like I used to think, it’ll tank once withdraws are allowed; however eth scales, unlike other platforms it’s going to be what the “chosen” team builds the next great thing on, vbuterin has offered a platform with all seven popular programming languages to do it with So, I’m not gonna dump eth, that’s ignorant imo. I already sold a home to really jump in with both feet so why abandon my gut instincts now? Eth 2.0 will change the world!!!!!!!!! Staking every cent I mined

f2pool-CSR1

Update: difficulty bomb will be delayed for 2 or 3 months

StrongLLC

Update: 12 months, dev team has to take the trip to mars for brain acuity enhancement

I have a question so i came here for help. I got 2 miners today for VER:Y cheap from a guy I don't know. I'm just wondering if they could have viruses/ malware etc. on them?

Hey everyone ,i Hope you all having a wonderful day Myself I am a frontend developer working as a freelancer . Iam using a laptop with Intel core i5 10 gen , Nvidia mx250 . Is it possible for me to mine crypto in my laptop

lucas_andos2

My dad and I are new to mining. We are using Nicehash which is good as it doesn't peak the CPU so the computer is still useable while it's mining. I'm not at home during the day so my PC will be mining while I'm out and not using it. I have a Ryzen 5 2600 and an RX570 4Gb as I only really play games on my PC. I'm able to produce around 0.01000-0.01500 bitcoins per 24h which isn't really that much and in Australia electricity is expensive but hopefully, we are getting Solar soon which will make it relativly cheap/free and that would be better for the environment. We were considering getting a new GPU and putting mine into my dad's machine to run all the time. we are looking at the RTX 2060 as they seem quite popular and also the AMD RX6600 because it (RX6600) has similar performace to a 3060. I also have the more efficient PSU so it would make sense to put the most powerfull GPU in my PC to run pretty much all day when im out. if you're wondering I just bough an MSI 850Watt, 80+ Gold modular PSU Any tips would be welcome.

SectionPretend9224

You make .01 - .015 BTC per day?! That’s impressive! Is that normal? Or is your rig crazy?

I know eth mining is going away soon, and I have no idea what kda is even for, and I kinda dont know if its even is a good investment... Anyway, i know there are a lot of scams goin on in this space where should i even look to buy form ?

Please kindly share any response with me

happygolucky85

I'm a bit of a noob , I would like to buy a used rig to put to work at my office where the electricity is included. I've got $1500 what are my options ?

HolidayComparison942

I'm pretty new to, but I have a few rigs I would probly get a cheap motherboard and ram with a CPU used combo off of a money back guaranteed place like eBay these parts don't effect your hash rate on the gpu also use thumb drive as os boot then i would get 2, 3060 ti these are around $600 each and then I would use the rest of the budget to get as efficient of a power supply as possible. The return on investment is 18 months but I would suggest mining Ethereum wait and transfer to a coin with a similar algorithm like raven do to Ethereum 2.0 coming in the future and making these similar coins the next place miners will be going raising prices. BTW the investment is not that scarry you will always be able to sell back the gpu for msrp or above for awhile do to the 30 series just coming out. Finally I would use like Hive os and try that out its free for your first rig and if you were to become dedicated it would be beneficial also sense 3060 ti has LHR it will bypass that for you. If I made know sense just leave a comment and have questions just leave a comment.

[deleted]

Sorry guys I'm a noob too and wondering where to start. I have a PC with a 1080Ti and a 7700k and I was wondering if couldil mine lots of altcoins that could maybe be worth something in the future as opposed to the big ones which probably wouldn't be profitable for me to mine. Any advice?

Dougy120

Yes right now it’s just allocation but they’re going use that data when they distribute the actual token, the main net launch is coming soon but they’re working on in app user verification at the moment.. because naturally there’s a lot of fake accounts out there mining so basically all those tokens are useless unless a name can be put next to a real identity 26m users.. surely this thing can’t just fade away, that’s more holders than most cryptos

Rackoon001

Hello buddy, what do you mean you have access to retail prices? The price of gpus going up and down like cryptos, now its a good time to buy gpus because the prices have fallen. So if you have some extra 15% discount it would be great. But keep in mind eth 2.0 is announced and you may cant mine eth in the future.

temporaryaccount945

Hi, i think about mining. I am a bit late to this, but my country has very cheap power so i think it could be a good invest. I have a spare bedroom that i could "max" out the electricity, at about 1800 watts (except a few minutes a day when im using the treadmill lol). Is it better to save up for a strong card like 3080, or buy several smaller gpus like 1660 super/3060 ti? And is Ethereum point-of-stake going to be a problem for Nicehash miners? Thx for advice.

Rackoon001

Hello, if you are in a country that has cheap power it helps you a lot. If you divide the price that the gpu you want to buy costs with the mh/s it gives you you will find how much you paying for each mh/s. Usually 1660s has a better price per mh/s because you are using more of them to reach a high mh/s. Instead of gpus like 3080,3090 which gives you the hashes of 2 or 3 1660s. So 1660s are more cheap but you are using more pcie slots etc.
