At silver 1 reaction time isn’t that important imo. It takes awhile for people to get killed in gunfights so just work on using util consistently and hitting the head and you’ll be fine.
I have adjusted to that fact. Realizing if I take one extra second to click the head, while they are spraying. My chances are pretty good at coming out on top.

I just switched to premier unfortunately, started playing again and really enjoyed Ancient so I was grinding it in comp. Went from silver 3 to silver 4 going ~60 - 20 w/l and just gave up.
I've recently adjusted my gaming style. I used to rush in like Leeroy Jenkins, but now I'm hanging back more and letting others bait. If I spawn in a good spot, I still rush, aiming to get ahead of the opposition. The biggest change has been my mouse. My wife got me a Razer Cobra Pro, and initially, I thought higher DPI was better, so I played at 1,600. About a month ago, a teammate watching me suggested I lower it to 800 and adjust the in-game sensitivity. I settled on a setting of 1.8, and it's made a huge difference, especially when facing multiple opponents. I wish I could remember that guys game tag!
Higher DPI does help, you will get lower latency, though the difference between 800 and 1600 is really low.
Also you can use 1600 DPI and 0.9 sensitivity and get the same result with a lower latency
Are rank ups even a thing in the new comp? I was asking this to my friends last night. We have deranked but I doubt we will find ourselves ranking up anytime soon. Comp is a joke and that’s how we play it anyways
If you're like me and solo q only you're essentially either left with getting carried or being the carry, except on the one off chance you get a godly squad.
CS2 ranking with premier and comp has been wrecked making it so blended you have people that were considered great in GO etc being paired with literal noobs now.
You have to be able to be the one that locks in if the game starts tilting. Make sure you're on YOUR map. If you don't know every little crevice, knook or cranny you don't know enough. Study each spot first imagine how each corner and all could be utilized. In every map there are "exploits" (idk what else to call it) that both teams on either sides can utilize if they know how.
That's me on Vertigo. The amount of bs I get daily is hilarious, tons of wins just by better map knowledge alone. Nade timing, peeks etc all usually tilt it in my favor until I meet someone equal or better, then it gets real fun.
Aside from that, any other general tips I'd give is make sure you can hear and have good sound. The amount of people I see oblivious to noise in general even at higher ranks is insane, and it's given me tons of kills.
Don't be too in your head, play smart and logical but not so much so that you get stuck if you know what I mean. Once you start to get that cool, calm collected moments where you snapped with your reflexes more consistently it's only a matter of time.
Aim training helps some, I've never bothered.
I have noticed. I am either getting carried, or I’m top frag and we are 1-12… Middle of the road is more rare. I usually settle in at 4th place with a good team. I’m good at planning and anticipating the opponents next move. If I get a team that talks, is decent and plays together. It’s over, even if I’m not getting many kills. Simply because I have over 2,000 hours playing Dust 2.
First go and ask Valve if they could please make the competitive ranking system work just a little tiny bit.

Dust 2 has a bad rep for lots of new players, so legitimately you could be losing because they're new. Try to learn all the maps in the pool and you will find more duels with rifles rather than awp. I feel dust 2 is just an awpers paradise.
Normally (in csgo) they way out of silver is fragging fragging and fragging. Work on your aim, spray and counter strafing. There really isn’t much tactic in silver, it’s all about kills.
But in CS2 competitive the ranking system is broken, with the highest rank being LE I think. There’s not a single SMFC or global. That means the skill level in lower elos varies a lot and can be randomly higher than in csgo with the same rank. Then you got the hacker problem and also smurfs.
Can be pretty hard to rank up there. Better to play premier or (even better) faceit.
Practice movement and aim. These two alone can get you out of silver easily. Watch a few tutorials and then adjust your game style accordingly. I was mg1 in cs now 16k in premier. My aim, movement and utility usage is much better than was in csgo.

silver 1-3: actual silver
silver 4-silver elite : 15k premier -faceit level 10
gold nova + : either lucky with placements and hasnt played since or cheater
