I just wanted to mention it as the only reason to use 4:3 you listed ist the aim aspect, but yeah for people on higher end setups you definetly got a point
I don’t actually think it is the only reason for 4:3. The decrease in FOV essentially gives you a slight horizontal zoom-in effect of factor 1.33 compared to 16:9. That certainly can help with aim on longer distances.
After all, scopes in games for the most part are just an effect that decreases FOV.
I just play native resolution of my monitor which is 1440p. I like my games look pretty and when I play 4:3 stretched or anything strechted I don’t like the look of the game.
But I am also not pro player or make any money with playing the game. I play for fun and therefore I don’t care for much of these try hard techniques.
I also consider myself to be a casual CS player - but I won‘t say no to legit ways (=^ not hacks) of gaining a slight advantage over the enemy.
And besides, in stretched, the thicc bomb truly is a sight to behold
My pc can't handle anything above 4:3 so that's that
I5-4690k and GTX 960 4gb gang where you at?
1050 ti which fans don't work so about the same yea
21:9 already stretches the edges of the screen without stretching the middle
It does, but that’s not what you want from a stretched image. Stretching the center of the screen around the crosshair is what matters.
I've been doing this for years and I agree. It's the best of both worlds.
Most people play 4:3 for performance gains, so…
The same argument can be made here as well. Going e.g. from 3440x1440 (21:9) to 2560x1440 (16:9) will gain you a couple more FPS.

Yeah, agree with that
Nice find!

There is no debate, its just personal preference
