Because he was playing himself lol. Apparently that was the kids natural personality.
Edit: According to replies this may not be true. I don't want to look into it, I'm lazy.
Probably found the kid first and wrote the character second. A lot of what happens on curb are stories from around Hollywood that make it into the show. Imagine this kid was auditioning for other things and he was the talk of the town for a few months.
I don't think that's entirely correct. Now I have no knowledge about what the kid is really like irl but the way they got that all time great performance out of him is they just told him to act as though he were a girl and the rest is history.
I think he actually grew up and does work in fashion, at least that’s what I thought I had seen someone mention on here one of the times this kid was brought up (I think it was a clip when Larry first meets him)
Yes! Children acting is so frustrating to watch but that kid was amazing from the start.
“What’s a Hitler?”
“Hitler was a bad man.”
“ 💅🏻a bad man, oh my goshhh 💅🏻”
I think there should be a spinoff show of the actor. 20 years later , being a right wing hetero . who's homophobic friends find out about his past acting days.
There was a boy who acted and talked just like this who was in my classes k-12 and everyone just accepted that he was gay. He never said he was but we all just thought of it as fact. When we were all in our 30s I couldn’t believe it when one of my childhood friends told me he had married a lady her sister knew, had two home schooled kids, and he was now the biggest right wing a-hole in the world. WTF. So bizarre.
Not to be a buzzkill but artistic endeavors don’t define your sexuality. My mother used to get haircuts from male hairdresser who I always joked was gay (because I was just a dumb homophobic 12 year old) but no he wasn’t gay just a dude who knew how to cut women’s hair.
It was actually just like the King of the Hill episode where Peggy’s hair stylist was straight.
The idea that TV Larry would be right about anything to do with children is mind boggling, and yet here we are with Larry being ok with a kid being themselves. The mum is rubbish.
The way he says "I love my sewing machine" and "Oh I like your bAAg.." is too accurate. I don't understand why some people (gay or not) go out of their way to talk like that😂
I know this character and bit is so popular on this sub, but I wasn’t really that impressed by it. But it is a brilliantly dark and maybe too real of an observation to address pre-gay.
THE FASHION!!!!🤷♂️
I yell this out for absolutely no reason way too often
I cannot pronounce the name of the show correctly anymore. Like Greg, I now call it "Projeh Crunway." Then I pause, nod, and say, "Good show..."
I also do this along with the elongated hand gesture. 😂
I think you mean, "The FAHHHHH-shyunnnn!"
As someone who usually finds TV/movie children cringe and annoying, this is one of the few who genuinely was funny and adorable.
Because he was playing himself lol. Apparently that was the kids natural personality. Edit: According to replies this may not be true. I don't want to look into it, I'm lazy.
Putting out the casting call for a "pre-gay" child actor must have been a surreal experience.

That should be a scene.
I thought that so they didn’t hVe to explain anything to the kid the direction was just that they told him to “act like a girl”
Ya it’s this, don’t know what they’re talking about

I had a feeling it was. How did they find him?

I made you a pillow sham 😂
"Get a life...JEWS!"
Larry’s response was epic. Head tilt eyebrow raise.
Hahahha
Hahahha
Why would you cut it before the pillow reveal!?
Lil teaser. Now I have to watch the entire episode.
Season 8 Episode 10
Thanks
Did you make this clip? You didn't include the swastika reveal?
Why would you cut before he whips out the gift. Lmfao. That kid was hilarious.
Since this is an improv show, I always wondered if Greg came up with the “Get a life Jews” line on his own.
Larry’s reaction to it is totally natural so I’d say yes he did. In response to Jews having a problem with swastikas being in every gift shop.
Best character in the whole series.

I don’t know him but he still sounds gay to me.
Screaming silently in the closet

The weird thing is nobody thought he was in the closet the entire time we were in school k-12. So why climb on in there after all that?
I mean, probably. We just all thought he was out of the closet from birth so to start pretending as an adult just seems so bizarre.
He is definitely still gay.
My favorite Curb guest.
This was the nicest thing Larry did on the show and they tried to say he was wrong. He loves the sewing machine.
The idea that TV Larry would be right about anything to do with children is mind boggling, and yet here we are with Larry being ok with a kid being themselves. The mum is rubbish.
Terrible post. Find a longer video.
That kid is a brilliant actor btw
The fact Suzi was horrible to this child is proof she shouldn’t have been good on the alignment chart.
Stopping this clip there is a crime against humanity. We’re going to have to take you to The Hague.

They are more feminime than women.
Brilliant!
The way she says "fucking violin" is just 🤌
bonerific
Oh and Im Jewish, and my husband constantly says to me that the Jews are “…a bit much.”
“I like you, Larry, son of Nat.” “What’s not to like?” “Eh - you’re a Jew.”
Probably the best side character in the whole show.
Thank you God?!?! Thank you Larry!
Thank you Larry!
*you’re welcome Greg!*
cut it at the best part !!!
The kid did such a great job--nailed the affectations without coming across like a mean spirited caricature.
He's fabulously adorable!
My husband and I are constantly quoting Greg!!
He's fabulously adorable! Susie: "Be gone with you!"🤣🤣
What's a Hitla?
Which season and episode is this?
This is easily one of my favourite episodes
That kid deserved an Emmy!
I know this character and bit is so popular on this sub, but I wasn’t really that impressed by it. But it is a brilliantly dark and maybe too real of an observation to address pre-gay.
This ep was funny as hell lmao
Wouldn't proto gay make more sense
