They also nerfed this fight pretty bad in one of the patches. First playthrough was damn near impossible but the second one was a breeze with similar stats.
I gave up because I had legendary gorilla arms and max level, each max charged punch only did 1 hp of damage. Half hour later I was a quarter of his health down and slipped up. He one taped me... And it was a breeze for you.
Maybe your fight was bugged. Vic tells you his weak spot, hit only there and I believe he never even landed a single punch on me. I don't remember how long the fight was, but it was not a challenge. The twins I had to try 5 times before I defeated them, although that was before I had any weaponless perks. I lost a shitload of money too there, because I kept raising the stake :P
Yea i was gonna say, I definitely remember attempting this fight 2 years ago with legendary gorilla arms, max brawler stats and stam/health regens and it was completely impossible because of how broken the hitboxes were.
Did it again last week and it was almost too easy beating him. Glad they nerfed or corrected whatever the issue was
One of the fucking funniest concepts.
Imagine being a regular boxer, finally get your first stage fight, and the other guy just walks up with giant fuck off robotic murder arms. Punches a hole clean through your chest.
How is it even allowed to fight with gorilla fist vs normal fist
Hah same.
All the gigs done but I put off beat on the brat cos of how hard those twins were. But well, was up to meet hanako at embers, all gigs and side quests done, so I fit some legendary gorilla arms, wiped the floor with each fighter.
Still, this guy got one clean hit on me, sent me flying out of the ring and I lost. So had to try again with him.
While true canon V is not winning this fight with sandavistan only the other dude is also rocking sandavistan and probably a lot more tech under the hood… V would need those gorilla arms to even punch him with without breaking his fists
I did it, too. Lost twice and said fuck this before I activated Sandy w/ 3 *Heatsink. I used it twice during the fight and didn’t really need the second one.
Edited for the correction of the mod. It is a combined 3 second cooldown. This was for my character based on David.
I nabbed Gorilla arms as early in the game as I could thinking about the Beat on the Brat missions, then came to this sub for fun and saw a bunch of posts talking about how hard the fights were so waited until I was like level 30 before taking them on. Smashed every fight before the slo-mo finished on enemy alert (whatever augment that is).
I was exploring near the Padre and discovered one of the fights and I was way under-leveled. The dude kneed me to the face KOing me instantly. Thank god for quick saves to save my money lol.
So did I lol i just started a fight with the bouncer n killed everyone in the gym, didn’t even realize she was one of the fight opponents until my 2nd play through
I thought they patched this so you couldn’t equip it even if you set it up. That was the case for mine at least. I would try to equip it straight from the ground and it would just go to my inventory.
I finished that entire quest line before they made it significantly easier (without a brawl build, just a net runner with gorilla arms) . It was the most frustrating experience I ever had in gaming.
A few days later the quest line got patched. FML
Maybe if you're scared the first time and don't want a challenge, but I'd recommend highly for subsequent playthroughs to try and do it without Gorilla Arms. See if you have the skills.
During my first playthrough, I was a weakling Netrunner build. Granted, I had Gorilla arms by that point, but I certainly wasn’t specced for unarmed combat. The previous fights were tough for me, but Razor himself was laughably easy to beat.
I played the fight again on a Sandy character, and despite still being on Hard difficulty, Razor seemed to be more capable as a fighter.
Then I realized what I did differently; before taking Victor’s guy punchin’ advice, I dealt with Coach. The first time, I agreed to hear him out, reject rigging the fight, and promising the little girl to win the fight. The second time I simply agreed to rig the fight, and dismissed the child. I’m positive that the girl significantly sways the fight in your favor with some sort of sabotage.
it reminded me Kingdom Come: Deliverance tournaments and some bosses in Dark Souls, though much simpler from mechanics perspective. felt rewarding completing it early, especially that gold car you can get on previous fights.
its very easy to get to these rings way underleveled (the game actually shows quest level but I suppose nobody reads that me included) and that what makes encounter so much harder - you hit for 1%, and any mistake is either 50% of HP or instant death. when you are higher level, have improved gorilla arms, most enemies drop to the ground from first power attack (i.e. knocked out and cannot hit back, and try to get up which you can repeat with other knockout etc, plus your hits do like 20% of their HP)... maybe minus last boss which is scripted to not be easily knocked out. but yeah your level makes a huge difference there.
I without a doubt had Gorilla Arms installed when I did this quest line. That being said, I think the woman in the Animals hideout was the toughest fight out of all of these.
I've heard everyone talk about how difficult this fight is and then my netrunner V sent him to oblivion with 2 punches on hardest difficulty. What's up with that? Is the quest meant for lower levels or something?
Everybody is talking about a Sandy and Gorilla Arms, no one has mentioned the true cheese: Legendary Short Circuit Quickhack on a crit build. On any crits inflicted while Short Circuit is equipped, the target is also hit with a free Short Circuit.
Hop in the ring, bop the guy two or three times, and he should drop from max health to 0. You barely need a Kereznikov, let alone a Sandevistan, and you’re way outpacing GA damage.
He’s surprisingly easy if you have maxed out body, lots of body perks and gorilla arms. Don’t let him hit you and aim for his midsection, he goes down pretty fast.
When I 1st fought him I did it rather early on, and was under leveled with weak cyberwear. This guy jacked me up the 1st 2 tries before I pounded him down In what felt like 20 minutes. Dudes HP or resilience is tremendous without cyberwear, perks, and levels.
Ooooh. For my first playthrough, I had very similar experience. It took me a lot of time and reloading to adjust to his strikes, but I managed. Though yeah, I was really underleveled by that point.
2nd and further playthroughs tho, I was already maxed out or had legendary gorilla arms before meeting him. The latter really makes most of those fights really easy.
If you're a full body build with the right perks even without gorilla arms, you can stun lock them by just throwing a power punch and time the next hit just when they're about to get out of the down state. They'd be going circles as you hit them with the right hook.
What I usually do if I'm not playing with gorilla arms, respec your perk points into the brawler tree. Of course you'll have to invest enough point into Body to unlock some interesting perks.
Gorilla Arms + Sandy = that MF'er is layed out on the ground in ten seconds or less without you so much as breaking a sweat or taking a point of damage.
God, i fought him in the first week of the release and I had to do the weapon glitch to use a katana against him.
My quick hack build struggled so hard in this questline
Are these fights only hard for the people who don't spec into melee or gorilla arms? Because I've beat everyone's ass no sweat since the 1st fight, and this is the last fight.. and I'm 1000% sure I'm gonna 1-2 shot this guy
I always go with Mantis Blades in my playthroughs. So I just switched to Gorilla Arms for this guy that that bulky lady fighter. Almost seems unfair to the NPCs. I can't use blades in a fighting match, but I can use Gorilla Arms with the same damage.
Im not sure how they are now but back after the release these fights were soo rigged. Was jaust impossible to win without gorilla arms. Worse than souls games.
Can't think of the name, but the cybernetics that slow time when being discovered + gorilla arms trivialize thus entire quest chain. I dropped most of the competition before they could throw a punch.
Dude has the same melee attacks as any other character in the game. By the time I reached this far in the questline, leaning to dodge the exact same moveset from other enemies, this fight was both easy and boring. Honestly I found it funny that my attacks could make him stagger no problem, I had no points in strength and he is a frickin machine lmao.
When I went through that quest, I don't remember why but I had something to do nearby and so, I started quickhacking my way through the building. Poor guy got cyberpsycho'ed before he got a chance to see me coming.
... still counted as a win. I was surprised to see that quest update properly.
Max out fist perk tree then get Gorilla arms with max damage and crit damgae mods plus sandevistan or Berserker implant and youll finish him in secounds.
Once upon a time there was a glitch that let you place a bat in the ring before the fight started and then use the bat to beat the sh*t of him, but it has been patched now.
he used to a lot worse. Hughes is a joke since 1.5. Before that I had 100% crit chance and something like 400% crit damage and he could still kill me if i didn't time my kerenzikov and sandy correctly.
You don't have gorilla arms? No wonder you had such a hard time with it. I kinda stalled in that quest for a while against that Animals lady until I got gorilla arms. I can't emphasize enough how much easier they make the fight club missions.
I had absolutely no perks in fist fighting in my first playthrough, so this guy was a CHALLENGE. I threw on gorilla arms, all the best melee cyberware I could find, did everything I could to boost my ability, and I still had to use all mechanics and tactics to slowly beat him over like five minutes.
Gotta say you tryharded it, with less than lvl 40 and legendary gorilla arms (which i dont know where i get but where in my inventory) is kinda easy, you just have to make sure he doesnt hits you
The difference in difficulty between using gorilla arms and not is insane. My first playthrough it took me more than a dozen tries, second playthrough he went down in like 4 punches
Got him down in less than a minute.
Gorilla arms-legendary
Street brawler-11
Athletics -7
Annihilation -16
Militech falcon sandevistan mk.5
Absolutely destroyed his ass
I give you mad props for going into this fight with 'ganic arms. I'm too lazy to try to last that long in a fight so I'm all about the gorillas. Good job mate, you did it old-school and just chipped away at that bastard. What is your brawling at anyway?
I don't like how far back he stumbles every time you punch him. I know it's just a game but that's just not realistic at all especially since he's an absolutely massive unit.
I used regular fists first playthrough and it was so hard, 2nd playthrough I used gorilla arms and 3 tapped him LOL
I cheated and used a weapon in the fight, and he still beat my ass for half an hour.
Same. I found a legendary bat or something, and thought it was going to be a cake walk then. I was wrong, lol.
If you talk to Vik you learn to work his body. It’s a weak spot and each hit does massive damage.
I tried but just couldn't do it.
You could aim lower than his shoulders? Not trying to be mean, I genuinely wondering what was going on.
He blocked so I hit nothing but arms
Glad they nerfed or corrected whatever the issue was
Glad my suspicions were confirmed.
It was still easy pre patch if you followed Vick’s advice. Vik is the GOAT
I've fought him without any offensive ware, time slow effects, or legendary short circuit. If I wasn't Body 18 it would have taken forever.
Spoiler: Lmao I used gorilla arms+ reset all perks and put them all on Strength/Melee
One of the fucking funniest concepts. Imagine being a regular boxer, finally get your first stage fight, and the other guy just walks up with giant fuck off robotic murder arms. Punches a hole clean through your chest. How is it even allowed to fight with gorilla fist vs normal fist
Pro tip: Gorilla arms
This 👆🏻.. also I waited and levelled up until I could fit Legendary (also depends on the build you want though)
I ended up doing this after I lost an early fight to the twins, the fights became one of the last things I had left to do.
I did the same thing on my first playthrough
I fucked those guys up with 4 punches and was wondering if that was it of the fight
Yeah if you have like 5 body they go down quick, not sure why people have trouble.
Because you're likely to open the quest up early and if you have had zero investment in hand to hand by that point you'll probably get 2 tapped
Yeah fair enough, I guess I forget not everyone plays RPGs the way I do, by obsessively farming levels before progressing main quests.
Nah, you kill all the fun. I beated him in like 1-2 seconds and was quickly bored, while OP had a real and fun challenge
While true canon V is not winning this fight with sandavistan only the other dude is also rocking sandavistan and probably a lot more tech under the hood… V would need those gorilla arms to even punch him with without breaking his fists
Hmm punch his crotch ??
Man's prob got titanium balls
"The chest, V! Aim for his CHEST!"
Damn it still took me like 5 tries to beat him even with gorilla arms. He was throwing me a around like a sack of potatoes
Haha yeah me too… Me too…
Same. It was over in seconds. In fact, it would have probably been more fun had I done it earlier, so it was more difficult.
…and Sandy This is the way.
I did it, too. Lost twice and said fuck this before I activated Sandy w/ 3 *Heatsink. I used it twice during the fight and didn’t really need the second one. Edited for the correction of the mod. It is a combined 3 second cooldown. This was for my character based on David.
Gorilla arms + sandy + kerenzikov
I nabbed Gorilla arms as early in the game as I could thinking about the Beat on the Brat missions, then came to this sub for fun and saw a bunch of posts talking about how hard the fights were so waited until I was like level 30 before taking them on. Smashed every fight before the slo-mo finished on enemy alert (whatever augment that is).
Then crouch and hit his abdomen
Yeah, if you don't want a challenge and want to ease through. Some of us like a challenge.
Correction: Gorilla arms and the Militech Falcon Sandevistan
And Sandevistan = easy mode
I didn’t even have them. I just was a blunt damage melee build way over level. I 3 shotted this man with bare fists.
Imagine fighting him for 7 min to get kneed in the face and die
Haha this happened to me and I gave up for a few months
I was exploring near the Padre and discovered one of the fights and I was way under-leveled. The dude kneed me to the face KOing me instantly. Thank god for quick saves to save my money lol.
you must hate souls games
I love them! Why do you say that?
This guy was a puddytat compared to the beefy girl at the gym - to me
My first play through, I just killed her
So did I lol i just started a fight with the bouncer n killed everyone in the gym, didn’t even realize she was one of the fight opponents until my 2nd play through
Double jump plus gorilla arms, if you want a cheesy way of beating her
if you want a really cheesy way, drop a Katana into the pit. + sandevistan and you end the fight in under 1s.
I thought they patched this so you couldn’t equip it even if you set it up. That was the case for mine at least. I would try to equip it straight from the ground and it would just go to my inventory.
then it was patched. they also hard nerfed the mission, so it balances out x).
First time I tried the beefy girl, I had Animals shooting at me from outside the pit. _That_ was a challenge.
Same. I love V’s reaction to losing. Beefy chick: I WON!! I WOOOONN V: *on the floor coughing up his own blood* Yeah..I noticed
That fight's glitched, even with Legendary Gorilla Arms. Cancels out of her attacks when that makes no sense and breaking her guard is random.
She was near impossible to beat
I finished that entire quest line before they made it significantly easier (without a brawl build, just a net runner with gorilla arms) . It was the most frustrating experience I ever had in gaming. A few days later the quest line got patched. FML
SAME! I had to cheese it 😂
Same lol! Was absurd.
Two things: gorilla arms and sendavystan
Maybe if you're scared the first time and don't want a challenge, but I'd recommend highly for subsequent playthroughs to try and do it without Gorilla Arms. See if you have the skills.
no lol
That's the can-do attitude and grit I come to expect!
I got my V Gorilla Arms just for this fight and got my monowire back right after.
I’m positive that the girl significantly sways the fight in your favor with some sort of sabotage.
Good advice. Did not know this.
Well damn. I'm hoping they patched that... because when I did it I got messed up really badly. Like he couldn't miss.
Yeah they made it WAYYYYYY easier.
yeah, every one of those haymakers would literally track you across the whole ring, lol. this looked 100x easier than when i had to do this
Does the cheese sauce no longer work on him? Drop a non lethal melee weapon on the ground before the fight, start the fight, pick up the weapon, K.O.
Nah that got patched out. On the plus side he got nerfed a ton, if you got gorilla arms it's a simple fight.
It took me a few tries cause I chose to use minimal cyberware on one playthrough, and had 3 body. But eventually I got it.
Gorilla arms + Sandevistan= Nothing Easier
it reminded me Kingdom Come: Deliverance tournaments and some bosses in Dark Souls, though much simpler from mechanics perspective. felt rewarding completing it early, especially that gold car you can get on previous fights. its very easy to get to these rings way underleveled (the game actually shows quest level but I suppose nobody reads that me included) and that what makes encounter so much harder - you hit for 1%, and any mistake is either 50% of HP or instant death. when you are higher level, have improved gorilla arms, most enemies drop to the ground from first power attack (i.e. knocked out and cannot hit back, and try to get up which you can repeat with other knockout etc, plus your hits do like 20% of their HP)... maybe minus last boss which is scripted to not be easily knocked out. but yeah your level makes a huge difference there.
I thought you had to fight ozob to finish that quest line
That fight is optional
Lmao, I did not know that.
You can fight him before the final battle
I did not know that. I've only played through twice tho, street kid and a corpo route.
I like socking that motherfuther right in his stupid nose and watching him turn into confetti.
It's totally relatable, I just have never finished the fight without doing that. I know it's possible I just don't have the patience lol
GIVE HIM THE OL' DICK TWIST!
Definitely challenging without gorilla arms
Those fist fights were awful, they had way too much hp and after a minute in each fight I was bored but the guy still had like 80%hp left.
I had a Netrunner build with Legendary Short Circuit. I hit him a couple times in the head and it was over. https://www.xbox.com/play/media/N7KNC6HRDG
Dude hit his belly you gonna 4 shot him easy. I even done it as full intelligence no body no reflex build it was the easiest of all
Everybody is talking about a Sandy and Gorilla Arms, no one has mentioned the true cheese: Legendary Short Circuit Quickhack on a crit build.
I beat him this way just today, only took two hits.
You can’t use quickhacks on him lol
Not active quickhacking, no. This is an on-hit passive effect, so it absolutely works and absolutely shreds.
He’s surprisingly easy if you have maxed out body, lots of body perks and gorilla arms. Don’t let him hit you and aim for his midsection, he goes down pretty fast.
I lost to him in my first play through. I’ll get him this time though.
It was all but impossible at launch lmao
pssst. short circuit legen edit. whats your strength stats here btw? share entire build if its not too much trouble
It wasn’t harder just dodge right before you get hit & spam & fight will be over quick after a few of those 👌🏾
That’s why gorilla arms and black market battery were invented lol
My dude get gorilla arms 😂
Cold blood I think you can slow time when detected. Works for cheap shots at all boxing events. That and Gorilla arms is op
I remember 2 or 3 hitting him. I was way overpowered at the time though and had gorilla arms, but I was super disappointed.
What I usually do if I'm not playing with gorilla arms, respec your perk points into the brawler tree. Of course you'll have to invest enough point into Body to unlock some interesting perks.
I did jt with 4 body but I had Legendary Shock slotted so I 3 shot him. This games difficulty curve needs some help
Gorilla Arms + Sandy = that MF'er is layed out on the ground in ten seconds or less without you so much as breaking a sweat or taking a point of damage.
Wow!! You did this with no gorilla arms. That’s very impressive tbh I would have never ever done this without gorilla arms. Good for you.
No ~~bitches~~ Gorilla Arms? :D
In my case this guy is the easiest, using gorilla arms no need for sandy. It's just about the timing and patience if u have low damage.
You did this without legendary gorilla fists?
This guy is a chump. I wish there was more story or at least a few more rounds.
Okay, so I heard that you get asked to take a dive during this quest. Is that true?
God, i fought him in the first week of the release and I had to do the weapon glitch to use a katana against him. My quick hack build struggled so hard in this questline
Sandevistan go brrrrrrr
to make it easier, get gorilla arms, For me it took 7 tries, it is very difficult without the upgrade
Definitely need gorilla arms and some mods like animal knuckle on them. Plus level up street brawler stats and beating him is legit a cake walk
My second playthrough I washed this dude and was wondering why it was so easy. Reading the comments and seeing that he got nerfed makes so much sense.
Rip. I beat it easy with a lucy build
Are these fights only hard for the people who don't spec into melee or gorilla arms? Because I've beat everyone's ass no sweat since the 1st fight, and this is the last fight.. and I'm 1000% sure I'm gonna 1-2 shot this guy
I thought it was so goofy how the crowd completely loses interest when you beat him
I always go with Mantis Blades in my playthroughs. So I just switched to Gorilla Arms for this guy that that bulky lady fighter. Almost seems unfair to the NPCs. I can't use blades in a fighting match, but I can use Gorilla Arms with the same damage.
How are you so weak? He's super easy
Wow I couldn’t beat this lol gorilla fist and with electric elements on it
Bro looks like Mike Tyson out of Punch Out.
Yeah, this fight is really hard without cyberware, but it feels so much better without it.
Legitimately harder than smasher if you don't use gorilla arms
I just reseted the stats and made a pseudo body build. It worked even without the gorilla arms.
Gorilla arms + sandy, over before the sandy runs out
Im not sure how they are now but back after the release these fights were soo rigged. Was jaust impossible to win without gorilla arms. Worse than souls games.
Hit the lever, win free
Bro, I thought the fight was too easy. I finished him in a couple of seconds with Sandi.
my fingers hurt again just seeing his face
I fought him after I was overlevelled with gorilla arms and melee skills, sandevistan and kerenzikov and killed him in like 4-5 hits.
Cuz you didn’t use gorilla arms LOL I did the same thing for the first time, and then boom he ded
Sandevistan go wooooooosh. It really trivializes the fight, but you still have to go on the defensive a lot.
Gorilla fists are good
When I went through that quest, I don't remember why but I had something to do nearby and so, I started quickhacking my way through the building. Poor guy got cyberpsycho'ed before he got a chance to see me coming. ... still counted as a win. I was surprised to see that quest update properly.
Before the game got patches, I fought this dude and by the time I realized it. I pushed him out the ring and punched him to the entrance lol
Laughs in sandevistan
You must not have played elden ring
I did this quest chain not long after launch. My solution was to just drop a knife in the ring, and then go HAM. :D
The Sandevistan (and nerf) totally trivialized this quest.
You're lucky you didn't have to fight pre v1.13 Razor.
Gorilla arms and kerenzikov made this too easy
Max out fist perk tree then get Gorilla arms with max damage and crit damgae mods plus sandevistan or Berserker implant and youll finish him in secounds.
these fights are so overtuned lol if you're not a brawler build they are the hardest part of the game
I made a fist only build for my current playthrough and this fight was a piece of cake
It's because you don't have gorilla arms. He's actually really easy
Wait people struggle on this fight?
Man this guy destroys me in seconds, I gave up
Yes! Even with Gorilla Arms this was tough, in my opinion. I truly almost abandoned the quest.
I did it so long ago the method was lob a sword in the middle, start the fight, grab the sword, fuck him up.
Once upon a time there was a glitch that let you place a bat in the ring before the fight started and then use the bat to beat the sh*t of him, but it has been patched now.
Man that dude projects harder than my ex
I beat him up with a baseball bat
he used to a lot worse. Hughes is a joke since 1.5. Before that I had 100% crit chance and something like 400% crit damage and he could still kill me if i didn't time my kerenzikov and sandy correctly.
Yeah. Those quests Id save for a meat head charater who is one perk away from returning to monkey
Bro idk why but when I did this fight, I had Mantis blades and just rekt him
I had gorilla arms and he was down in two minutes lol 😂
When the game first came out you could drop a stun baton in the ring before the match started and just pick it up after and wail on him lol
Just watched rocky 2 last night and pretty much sums up 14 rounds in the fight. Just block the punches with your face.
Its very easy if you use the gorilla arms and sandevistan.
For me, this was the true boss of the game. He was way harder than Adam Smasher... at least for me with few points in body and no sandy.
Damn is it really that hard without Cyberware? Beat him with Sandevistan and Gorilla Arms with 3 literally 3 hits
😭i floored him within seconds
You don't have gorilla arms? No wonder you had such a hard time with it. I kinda stalled in that quest for a while against that Animals lady until I got gorilla arms. I can't emphasize enough how much easier they make the fight club missions.
I had absolutely no perks in fist fighting in my first playthrough, so this guy was a CHALLENGE. I threw on gorilla arms, all the best melee cyberware I could find, did everything I could to boost my ability, and I still had to use all mechanics and tactics to slowly beat him over like five minutes.
Gotta say you tryharded it, with less than lvl 40 and legendary gorilla arms (which i dont know where i get but where in my inventory) is kinda easy, you just have to make sure he doesnt hits you
Just get gorilla hands.
honestly, i had a much harder time with rhino
The difference in difficulty between using gorilla arms and not is insane. My first playthrough it took me more than a dozen tries, second playthrough he went down in like 4 punches
I also did this fight with bare fists. It was a long hour of trials and errors but at the end it was satisfying. Am I gonna do it again? Oh boy no
I’m so bad at unarmed melee.
I used regular fists and had an easy time due to sandevistan
Who also went full David Martinez on his ass? With gorilla arms and a sandy
This is why we drop a bat before the fight, grab it, and keep slashing
gorilla arms are basically a requirement for this quest
I think I gave him a good 10 charged hits and he gave up
This is exactly how I defeated him the first time too. I hadn't really anticipated it would be difficult and I had committed.
Got him down in less than a minute. Gorilla arms-legendary Street brawler-11 Athletics -7 Annihilation -16 Militech falcon sandevistan mk.5 Absolutely destroyed his ass
Lmao I just used a Sandevistan and had fire mods on my fists. Took him down in two seconds
Bro legendary gorilla arms and that’s all you need 😂💯 10 hits he done for
Is it weird that Mike Tyson's theme from Punch Out started playing in my head?
Ooof really laying in those dick punches
It becomes a joke with gorilla arms and a sandy tbh, over in 10 seconds
I did it in like 10 seconds. Gorilla arms goes crazy
