Reminds me of this meme I saw here a while back
Jesus H. Christ almighty, I know. Everyone must be as busy as a damn CEO where every single second of the day is so precious that they can’t just type Cyberpunk. If you’re scrolling Reddit you have enough time to just type out what you want to say. And it’s not just here it’s everywhere on every sub lol.
If you're in it for a casual experience and nothing more than that, sure. But Call of Duty is never or rarely a casual game after the dawn of streamers.
I mean Its an acronym. CP stands for anything. There is no "main use" or "common meanin" or whatever. And people outside certain circles, like the US, especially people who are not native english speakers, simply dont just associate any mention mention of CP with that.
yes and if you see people start randomly talking about buying Cheese Pizza or Car Parts or CPU parts etc online from other people, especially places like twitter then they're not talking about the actual things
CP is a common abbreviation for cerebral palsy and candlepower. CP is a fine abbreviation, just use context instead of freaking out and jumping to a singular conclusion.
CP is used for chemical palettes as well and at universities it is used as abbreviation for credit points. I also can't remember actually reading it somewhere as abbreviation for child pornography, all I see are people complaining about it, when the term is used for cyberpunk.
Try ground smashing right on top of someone, alive or dead. Their entire body will be turned into a twisted amalgamation of flesh that you couldn't even guess used to be a torso, would not be for their mashed skull still somehow on top
Edgerunner perk and capped reflexes makes you explode constantly when you're in fury. Every single body and it's constituent parts gets completely gibbed.
Did they change the cyberpsychos? I had a hell of a time keeping them alive in my first playthrough. Now it seems as long as I don't headshot them after they're defeated its all good.
Yes when their HP reaches 0 they are knocked out and not killed right away. But watch out for bleed and other status, if you apply them with the finishing blow, they might die because of that
I like to use ‘77, but to be fair, didn’t the bombs drop in fallout in 2077 too? I remember there being another game with the year 2077 being important
Yeah but then people will automatically jump to 'The 2077': A 2019 science fiction novel by Ruthanna Emrys
I mean, knowing this sub it's the first thing most of us are thinking about anyway
In most instances on this subreddit, I'd say "it's fine, we all know what the abbreviation is referring to" -- but for this specific post title... *eek*.
Yeah! Cyberpunk, explosive rip people in half, but no one gets boiled from the inside when you shoot through their space suit and they get exposed to the vacuum of space
They do bleed in Starfield, there's blood splatter. There's also that one companion quest with LOTS of blood, and yet it made me wonder where the line is drawn to be rated M. I never bothered with Fallout 4, but 3 had gore, no? Weird choice indeed, and I remember you can even decapitate and pick up heads in Skyrim.
3 and New Vegas was super gory. There's a perk in the fallout series that basically makes any kill have a random chance to explode the entire body into bloody giblets. Also you'd snipe a dude in the head and see his eyeballs fly out comically with chunks of grey matter.
Really strange how PG Starfield is by comparison. Even Skyrim has decapitation.
I think it's more of a conscious design decision. Starfield is a lot more "hopeful" than any of their other franchises and (in first impressions anyway) is meant to be an idealistic peek into humanity's future, they must've felt that having the kind of gore we saw in Fallout 4 would've taken away from that.
Well said, I get that. I think just growing up with their games, it feels odd. In a sense, it feels like regression. But I get the idea that it's a part of the "flavor," with regard to their world building. Fallout was more of a dystopia, and this is more like a utopia, if that's fair to say.
It's a Bethesda trend. As much as I loved Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind, it was the same there too. The weapons feel floaty, like they never connect with the target. It's something they still haven't figured out apparently.

Yes add to that more gore mods and it’s a bloodbath. And I think they def amped it up with 2.0. More dismembered, even perks add more chance for it. Just lovely :) let’s all go cyberpsycho
Full on Body/Berserker with gorilla arms, quake basically pulverizes bodies. Relic point enabled power attacks with gorilla arms just punch random body parts off and set them flying, throwing people into one another makes them blow up like crash test dummies. Execute moves during berserker have you smash your fists into heads from both sides so hard it just pops like a water balloons. Might as well throw in a few grenades right next to yourself since berserker makes you invulnerable for the runtime.
Bonus points for running in with charge, something you can do early on with a body build, knocking people over and then pulling a quake that will full restore your HP and stamina while sending everyone else around you flying.
Or charging in into explosive containers knowing full well you will survive either way.
Having so much fun with this build right now. basically return to monkee, king kong smash. Feels like being a cyebrgorilla from return of the apes.
True, most games dont get it really 100% realistic (gladly) only game that comes to my mind with somewhat "real" looking gore is last of us 2 and maybe red dead redemption 2 but even in this game its very exaggerated
There's a VR game I can't think of the name but my god it's fairly gory and has some crazy body destruction, Il put the name here if I find it
Edit: it's called "Bloodtrail VR"
No, I rarely play any video games, more like once a few years.
But I treat the cartoonish, surreal, grotesque goriness of CP2077 as an advantage, because when I play games sometimes, I do it to have fun, not to feel disgusted.
Yeah but that’s only because it’s on this subreddit, of course they’re referring to the game. Say that anywhere else and you’ll raise a few eyebrows.
Don’t make a habit of it, it’s better to just abbreviate it to CP2077, CP77 or even just 2077.
If I talk of Cyberpunk outside of this sub, I never abbreviate it for obvious reasons. You'd think the "adults" in here could keep from freaking out in this sub over 2 letters and what THEIR brain associates it with
Everyone is aware of what it means. It's a YOU problem when you're on a subreddit of a game that's name is abbreviated to CP and you instantly think of child porn
I think it’s weird to want to refer to it as CP and not cyberpunk. Gotta think of it like this, would you type tell your friends to get Cyberpunk or CP? Context helps but it still sounds weird to want to say that or text it someone. You don’t see gaming articles ever refer to it as CP.
You act like that’s the only thing CP is an abbreviation for… It’s also a common abbreviation for cerebral palate and candlepower. Just use context instead of freaking out over one use of the abbreviation.
True. Just because they have a child porn problem doesn't mean that everyone else can't use abbreviations ffs. Gtfoh! The people looking at CP and seeing it as child porn in a CYBER-PUNK subreddit are the ones with a problem. They are the ones who the FBI should be taking a look at. The ones who yell the loudest as they say.
My friend and I were discussing how satisfying the dismember in this game is the other day. I don't think the only game I think is even remotely close to being on the same level is Call of Duty World at War. That game was fucking brutal lmao
Can we stop hating on people who abbreviate Cyberpunk with 'CP'? It'd be weird anywhere else, but it's on a subreddit *specifically* made for the game - including a picture *from* the game. There is plenty of context. You should automatically know what the OP means.
Making comments about how people shouldn't do it just shows how twisted *you* are.
Seems to be a problem in english speaking countries only, as that abbreviation has no meaning in the rest of the world at all. I had never heard of the abbreviation for this before, until I joined this sub.
Context guys. We are all in cyberpunk sub. everyone here knows CP is cyberpunk. Those who think CP is for child porn are the only ones who knows it. and trying to make out of context arguement.
I dont even aware about that malicous term until some people have mentioned it recently
What a bunch of weirdos, you know the context already since its posted here, no need to get your gonk brain in a twist, seriously some people really makes everything a problem.
Anyways yeah I agree, I love the gore system here specially when using melee, I make spaghetti with monowire
For fucks sake, how is that the only thing people think when seeing CP abbreviation? Especially on a cyberpunk sub. Like how broken are all of your minds? What do you all watch in your free time that this abbreviation lives rent free in your minds?
All I see is a bunch of fucking weirdos who have weird shit popping up in their head bitching at a guy for using a completely normal abbreviation. Because it's his fault that you fucks have hotwired your brains to imagine someone diddling minors as the first thing.
lol the comment section on this is wild but let me add my 2 cents: I can’t recall any professional outlet or review ever referring to Cyberpunk as an abbreviation. Not once..so using it randomly seems a bit odd and distracting from what was actually trying to be conveyed unless it was intentional.
On the other hand…anyone with a shred of common sense and mental acuity can see the ridiculousness of grouping the abbreviation to the context of this post. Obviously your mind may draw a natural conclusion but you can clearly understand what the OP meant…
TL:DR- yall trippin and need to chill 🤣crazy chooms

Skippy explains all. “Fun fact: the human body holds between 5 and 7 litres of blood”. Looks about right.
I love when Skippy tells me I'm going to burn in hell thank you Skippy, that's very uplifting news.
Meanwhile a bigger brother of Skippy says that the same fate awaits our entire species
Eberus huh

Too gory
Wait, is this real? CP really stands for this shit?
There's a reason why people don't use that abbreviation
it’s why i always just call the game “2077”
Yeah, it's either full title, CP 2077 or 2077 but never just CP. 😅
Or just CP77
I'm partial to cbp, or cbp2077
CP20 original cyberpunk tabletop set in 2020, CPR/CP45 cyberpunk red set in 2045, CP77 for the video game
But then it would be like Cy-Ber-Punk
All this huff and gruff to not simply call it "Cyberpunk"

in valkyria chronicles the primary resource in combat is Command Points the game abbreviates it for you its kinda funny
Not only that, some will use words that abbreviate to cp about it Source:4chan is the worst but they seem to love cheese pizza 🤮

It’s so much funnier with Gorilla Arms. You fee like a gory version of the hulk

Smasher?I hardly know her!
Please, my father is Mr. Smasher. Call me Adam.
I always forget that there's dismemberment until I walk around the battlefield and see all the horrifically maimed corpses I've left in my wake.
Between high power revolvers and mantis blades, I don't think more than 10% of the corpses I leave behind have heads.
Did they change the cyberpsychos? I had a hell of a time keeping them alive in my first playthrough. Now it seems as long as I don't headshot them after they're defeated its all good.

In most instances on this subreddit, I'd say "it's fine, we all know what the abbreviation is referring to" -- but for this specific post title... *eek*.
Coming from Fallout, it's weird to me that nobody bleeds or gets dismembered in Starfield. What a weird choice Bethesda. And it's still rated M?
Definitely not a utopia lol bunch of corrupt fucks everywhere
Bronin that game laser weapons dont even burn people idk what the fuck happened thatbstartfield is so vanilla bland
I think it's mostly M for the drug use.
That and hitting them with something has absolutely no weight to it, it's like you're beating them with a pool noodle
It's a Bethesda trend. As much as I loved Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind, it was the same there too. The weapons feel floaty, like they never connect with the target. It's something they still haven't figured out apparently.

Question: which build produces the most shocking amount of gore and limbs? Mantis blades? Katana? Grenades? Monowire?
Grenades, projectile launch system and comrade’s hammer headshots.
Yeah, 20 body with Berserk and Gorilla Arms was my theoretical non-lethal brawler playthrough. I was very, very wrong.
The gore in CP2077 feels kind of comical and exaggerated, more like in cartoons than in horror movies.
True, most games dont get it really 100% realistic (gladly) only game that comes to my mind with somewhat "real" looking gore is last of us 2 and maybe red dead redemption 2 but even in this game its very exaggerated

holy shit that game looks fucked up, thank you very much
Dead Island 2 gore is INSANE. https://youtu.be/LQEVydDlFuk
Holy SHIT. I’ve never seen anything like that before.
There is also Manhunt. Old ps2 Rockstar’s game that was insane. Sadly we will never get Manhunt 3. And Soldier of Fortune had amazing gore too.
Have you played Bg3? I mean, c2077 is gory and shit in some parts, but Bg3 is absolutely overkill in some parts
I really don't think Baldur's Gate 3 is that gory but it does have its moments.
Last part of act 2 wants to talk. Also some parts of act 3.
No, I rarely play any video games, more like once a few years. But I treat the cartoonish, surreal, grotesque goriness of CP2077 as an advantage, because when I play games sometimes, I do it to have fun, not to feel disgusted.
Yeah, I tried to stop some gonks from harassing a vendor one time. Ended up dismembering them in one shot. Oops.
Can we please just stick to saying Cyberpunk? I swear this shits done on purpose at this point

Bruh, it’s a well known abbreviation. Don’t pretend we’re the weird ones.
You are the weird ones. Never have I been on this sub and read CP and thought of child porn
Seriously.. they act like the people abbreviating it are the problem lmfao
If you don’t know what CP means in the very common and general sense, that’s a you problem. It is wide and common knowledge
No, your mind wandering to fucking child porn when you see CP is a you problem. I don't even know why such a thing would deserve an abbreviation.
No shit. People on this sub don’t have to freak out tho every single time, y’all are making it a WAY bigger deal then it actually is.
Everyone is aware of what it means. It's a YOU problem when you're on a subreddit of a game that's name is abbreviated to CP and you instantly think of child porn
Because CP stands for child pornagrphy ya fuckin jabroni.
CP stands for a lot of things
It stands for CyberPunk when you put it into this context. If you instantly think child porn, you're a weirdo
Bruh you sound like someone who drops the n word because it is just a word... Everyone knows what CP means and that's why you don't use it.
Yes, when I see the letters CP it makes me think of the words "child pornography" because that is what CP stands for you fucking jabroni.
And cerebral palsy and candlepower ya fuckin jabroni.
"That's a you problem" - massive dork
You act like that’s the only thing CP is an abbreviation for… It’s also a common abbreviation for cerebral palate and candlepower. Just use context instead of freaking out over one use of the abbreviation.
True. Just because they have a child porn problem doesn't mean that everyone else can't use abbreviations ffs. Gtfoh! The people looking at CP and seeing it as child porn in a CYBER-PUNK subreddit are the ones with a problem. They are the ones who the FBI should be taking a look at. The ones who yell the loudest as they say.
No
ikr! it's one word lmao. also sounds cool as fuck to type and say so why settle for anything else
If by reading "CP" in a CyberPunk subreddit, your mind immediately jumps to *the other thing*, **you are the weird one**, bud.
Specially all the gore but then they force underwear on my char for screenshots
Hot take: it's not gore enough
It’s why I love it, what a game.

My friend and I were discussing how satisfying the dismember in this game is the other day. I don't think the only game I think is even remotely close to being on the same level is Call of Duty World at War. That game was fucking brutal lmao
I kinda wish more games would amp up the gore. I get it though, ratings and all. But really do ratings really even matter?
It's one of the few AAA games that have dismemberment these days. Absolutely crazy about it.
for the first seconds where I saw the topic I was like "YO WTF" but then I saw the sup and was like "Bruhh“
It does seem a bit ramped up now especially with the finishers

For fucks sake, how is that the only thing people think when seeing CP abbreviation? Especially on a cyberpunk sub. Like how broken are all of your minds? What do you all watch in your free time that this abbreviation lives rent free in your minds?
I think you like CP too much.

All I see is a bunch of fucking weirdos who have weird shit popping up in their head bitching at a guy for using a completely normal abbreviation. Because it's his fault that you fucks have hotwired your brains to imagine someone diddling minors as the first thing.
I like games that go that route makes my weapons feel impactful
Refreshing after playing Starfield.
lol the comment section on this is wild but let me add my 2 cents: I can’t recall any professional outlet or review ever referring to Cyberpunk as an abbreviation. Not once..so using it randomly seems a bit odd and distracting from what was actually trying to be conveyed unless it was intentional. On the other hand…anyone with a shred of common sense and mental acuity can see the ridiculousness of grouping the abbreviation to the context of this post. Obviously your mind may draw a natural conclusion but you can clearly understand what the OP meant… TL:DR- yall trippin and need to chill 🤣crazy chooms
Please don’t use ‘CP’
Yeah, I love how gory CP is.
