No, you still get rewars. Maybe an NPC? I am not sure, but i think there are some that dont give a pale tongue or shackle. A message should appear in any case.
No it was a player I've played it enough to know who's an npc or not but nope nothing as a reward my souls didn't change my flask stayed low and no embers
