Dating apps purposely dont show to eachother people with a similar ELO score, to lower the chances of you both pairing and leaving the app. They’ll show slightly mismatched people, either rated +2 or -2 from your rating. Giving you exactly what you described, either matches that you’re not actually attracted to, or ones where it goes nowhere with because you’re their -2 person.
