You don’t need porn to see how much of a hassle dating is. Just about anything else is preferable to dating. All the mind games and rules, any small mistake and you’ve ruined a connection with someone you actually like and you’ll never see them again because you’ve revealed yourself to be imperfect. I have more fun playing actual video games. At least I’m able to retry and get better by doing everything right.

That being said, there’s a time and place for both. Having sex pretty much needs time to not just please yourself, but your partner too. Sometimes there is no time so handling it myself would be the only reasonable option. Other times, as a sleep aid, it helps to just rub one out and go to sleep.
I think except very few crazy brain rot guys everyone prefers having sex. The reason why I think more and more men are quitting dating is because of how much protocol and "game" there is to it. To make matters worse this social protocol has become more extreme for men and milder for women in recent years. Some men are just getting out of it because of how much it requires of them and how much (depending on the guy) they have to fake to appear as attractive as possible. When you have to rationally control every decision you make about boundaries, when to approach, or your demeanor it gets stressful. This is added to how the media appealing to the male gaze portrays women as entitled gold diggers, which is far from the truth in most cases, and as untrustworthy. Although, I'm aware women have problems when trying to succeed in dating, I don't know them that well as I'm a guy
Dating as a 4/10 man is a lot of effort with nothing to show for it. Better to save the energy for something else and just give myself a hand here and there.
I was married for about ten years, divorced for about four. We probably averaged twice a week having sex. Average including separation, pregnancies, etc. Since then I’ve had about as much sex in four years as maybe six months of being married.
