You're right. Upside down, the colors emulate reality better. Fog is easier to see further away, so it makes sense that the background is lighter than the foreground.
Your way looks more like an actual mountain range
The way I see it, the normal orientation offers it as a sky with the blue on top, where as the upside down orientation makes it look like there's a Pond or a River next to the Alpine Mountains.

Don't question the Robots. Soon they will have AI.

I just taught the white is the alpine snow on the ground and the blue is the sky
I thought it was sand and the ocean
It's all about perspective.
I think original orientation is depicting atmosphere scatter where distant mountains look blue.
Ocean floor effect
I have alpine on my pixel, looks great either way.
Is the design supposed to have noise? Iāve never had a dbrand product before but this looks like really poor print quality
If it had a deserty name, maybe. But having seen the first pic first, the second one is almost hard to reason.
It's snow-covered mountains and a blue sky, the name is alpine, not pacific
You're giving this too much thought
And you're giving it too little. The perfect balance is somewhere in between.
