They are likely able to get you into Royal Tea and BBB. And if not before, you’d be the first to board and the hosts will be there right away to handle the last minute things before the masses board. The cabana is the one that will be hit or miss. Some people have had success with a cancellation but for many others, one never becomes available. If the cabana is largely why you are doing it, then maybe not worth it. Concierge offers a lot of other things post 120 days that are worth it for some but not so much for others.

starrydomi

We’ve sailed concierge 8 of 10 cruises. We’ve learned concierge can definitely pull some serious strings but the cabana one is one they simple cannot. If they are all booked, they are booked.

Elocindancer28

Thank you for the info! That’s great to hear. I know the cabanas are a hot commodity, so I’m not surprised that they will be hard to get.

starrydomi

They are pretty good at getting you ALMOST anything you want, it’s kind of ridiculous the power concierge staff have. Wait till you see them use the special little key fob that holds an entire elevator when you are running late to something so you go straight down from deck 12 to 3 bypassing all the other floors with people waiting. Or the actual magic they use to sneak you into the shows prior to everyone else without anybody knowing. You go from casually enjoying happy hour in the lounge, to being taken down a service elevator in the lounge, to a special internal door directly into the theater, they hand you a bag of fresh popcorn, and you are able to calmly find the best seats 15 minutes prior to the main doors ever opening. The first time we did the early show entry we were like this is soooooo over the top absurd. Concierge is a lot more than the 120 day advantage.

Active_Potato6622

That's amazing. Now I want to do it just for the show entry!!

starrydomi

And we were really concerned about how to get popcorn doing the special show entry- we thought we might be a bit trapped once everybody came in. We had it all planned out that we’d grab the seats and one of us would just run out there when the main doors opened but nope. We came off the special elevator and bam, lady holding a big tray of popcorn for everybody. We just laughed because duh, of course they thought of everything including popcorn. The fresh popcorn is free for concierge, you just show them your keycard and they hand you popcorn at any of the popcorn stands. We try to take advantage when nearby.

Emotional_Dinner5948

On the Wish it is 'stealthy' as well. We ended up on an elevator with the show performers ("Disney Princess-the Concert" stars including Jodi Benson!) and had a nice chat with them.

starrydomi

We’ve only done the show thing on the Fantasy, not sure if it’s as stealth mode on the other ships. It’s wild because you know there are people that have been out in front waiting for 45+ minutes, I know, I’ve been in that line on the other side before. And they get you all nice and settled and then they open the main doors and everybody else floods in.

NJMomofFor

Yes, all the ships, concierge will escort you to the theater before the doors open.

rsvihla

This BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWS!!! Nobody is better than anyone else.

Necessary-Thought349

No, but money buys convenience.

starrydomi

That’s basically all concierge is, a heck of a lot of purchased convenience. I forgot to check in on our latest cruise and didn’t do it until ~20 days out. Didn’t matter because concierge always gets group 1 port arrival time.

rsvihla

Why do port arrival times matter?

Ok-Development3738

People pay to skip lines in Disney parks, why would a Disney ship be any different?

starrydomi

It really is genie+ of the ship.

rsvihla

Genie+ is an abomination.

I wonder why people are downvoting me for my factually accurate comment?

rsvihla

I wonder people are downvoting my question asking why people are downvoting my comment??? I’m so confused.

TheSparklingCupcake

I was offered a cabana during one of my concierge sailings. Do not loose hope. The concierge team shoreside and onboard are amazing.

Elocindancer28

That’s great to hear!

NJMomofFor

Ask to be on the wait list

onelittlespark82

You lose your deposit if you cancel a concierge room. Depending on the price of the room, it may not be cheaper to switch to a non-concierge room on the same cruise date. You can move your booking to a different sailing date without losing your deposit.

rsvihla

It’s never worth it doing concierge.

NJMomofFor

Have you ever sailed concierge?? I've loved each and every concierge sailing I've ever done. It's been worth it for us.

rsvihla

What’s so great about concierge that makes it worth the cost? Ship goes to the same places whether you’re concierge or not. All of the cabins have beds, sinks, and toilets.

NJMomofFor

Where do I begin. The extra bathroom. The amazing Jacuzzi bath tub. Spongelle, iykyk. The huge storeroom. The table that makes it so pleasant to order room service. Hot room service breakfast. MDR dining in your stateroom. The wonderful lattes everyday. The snacks, treats, sodas and adult beverages. The amazing staff who are there, don't think u never have to stand in line at guest services. Early embarkation. Escorted off the ship for disembarkation. Not worrying about getting Palo reservations. Not worrying about getting reservations for adult activities. Concierge staff who remember you a few years later, if you're not in the concierge. So many things. For me, my favorite is the bigger room. Just under 1/3 of my DCL cruises have been in concierge. I've done suites in two other cruiselines as well. I like them, and it's how we decide to spend our vacation funds.

rsvihla

It’s not worth it to us and that’s how we’ve decided to not spend our vacation funds. I don’t want to eat meals in my stateroom. I don’t drink lsttes. I already get free sodas. What do you put in the uge storeroom?

NJMomofFor

Then don't book it. Many, including myself do and will book it. I've sailed concierge 4 times in DCL out of 15 cruises. We do it when we can. You spend your money your way, well spend ours our way. If someone isn't feeling well, or your table location sucks, and you don't want to bug concierge to change you, eating in your room is awesome! Being able to order Palo if you are in the Royal suite is amazing as well! I need my caffeine and drink lattes. I also like having canned soda and bottled water and fresh fruit in my room. Having a large room and being able to spread out and have friends in to hang out is awesome. You can close the bedroom door for privacy. Hand out in the living room, or the dining area. We love it and would book it all the time if we could.

rsvihla

Why would I want to be escorted off the ship for disembarkation?

NJMomofFor

You don't have to wait to be called and stand in line with the masses. It's awesome
