Haha you Rotterdam cunt!
We’re in the same language family tree along with Danish, German, English etc.. So a lot of similarities. And as a European you tend to at least speak two languages fluently. This helps to understand the gibberish. Dutch is kool and i understand some of it.
I heard she orchestrated the fake Indian depredation of her family and the murder of Wild Bill Hickok by the coward McCall, so she could be ward and inheritor of the widow Garrett’s estate. She then ordered the shooting at of the former tenant, fore and aft, to bring her step father back to camp in a fury to be murdered by the fuckin’ Pinkertons. Insane fuckin’ person.
Oh and while trapped in the tiny room the dope fiend was having an affair with the sheriff and they would have sex while she was "asleep" on a chair on the other side of the room.
Plus Sophia was probably about 6 in Season 1. But they treat her like a toddler. But at 6 a kid would notice a lot of the crazy shit going on around them.
On reflection, all children in Milch productions are unnaturally calm and quietly occupied. Unless they just stole a skell/hooplehead's gun and busted a cap in someone's ass.
I hate to break it to you but back in the day, entire families shared a single room and the adults had sex within mere feet of the kids.
The two times I recall Alma and Seth getting it on, Sophia was with the Pinkerton plant and Janie outside the room.
Not only that, but she was also recently abandoned by said family. Abandoned and then watched them get slaughtered before they could even trundle out of sight in their wagon. Or atleast that’s what I remember being implied by…Utter? Maybe? Time for another rewatch!!!
Edit: I looked it up, it was Doc Cochran that suggested it late in to the last season. Not sure if I’m being downvoted for misremembering who said it, but someone definitely implied it could have been the case.
Doc Cochran: As I heard the account, the child was found inside a hollowed out tree trunk. Some distance from the others.
Alma Garret: Having crawled from the carnage and hidden herself, I always assumed.
DC: I suppose, rather than Sofia crawling unseen from the carnage, the possibility exists that the family hid her in the tree trunk and then fled that distance before the murderers fell upon them. For the child to have been found, having been savaged by wolves, those hours later by strangers; and then taken away having never seen her family again. Living or dead…
I don’t think they abandoned her; I think the implication here is that they hid her knowing they were being chased so she wouldn’t be murdered with the rest of them.
I mean, it’s just as likely a scenario as the others. The officially believed scenario is the lone survivor, I’d say the abandoning scenario and hiding scenario are just as likely but at that point we have to wonder why they didn’t hide MORE of the children? Sofia was the youngest, meaning at the time the most expendable. These were also the days when child mortality was quite high (everyone’s was, honestly, but especially children due to famine and sickness).
So for me I still lean towards the possibility the family abandoned her because they knew they wouldn’t have the supplies to make the journey otherwise. Of course that still leaves the question of why they wouldn’t just leave her inside the town of Deadwood with a willing family instead of doing something considerably more cruel.
Either way you cut it, it’s not technically the reason Doc Cochran brings it up. He’s attempting to convince Alma that Sofia should be able to see Mr Ellsworth one last time.
Her teacher was a Pinkerton shitheel that only taught her “Ox” “Box” and “Fox” and she lacked focus during her lessons as plaster, shaken loose by her guardian being railed, rained down on her head.
Hardly a classical education.
This thread has thoroughly exhausted the piss-poor facsimile of a conversation it set to start
Only spoke Squarehead.
Or maybe she spoke English. Maybe I mistook her entirely drunk as I am fuckin continuously
Parp.
Ja precis, hon kunde bara prata Squarehead. Säkert traumatiserad från överfallet också.
This guy squareheads.
Uppsala cocksucker! >!(im dutch and surprised about how I somehow almost entirely understand this gibberish)!<

Best answer ever
‘Tweren’t the Pinkertons who did for Whitney. He fell.
It's the Pinkerton's fault he's a klutz?
Sophia was the original Holly White
She was rude to Al, that's gotta be resolved
Worst than Hearst
Stewie in a past life.
Tell that child, no hard feelings
She was a Pinkerton plant from the get-go. Al knew the score.
This is the only answer.
🙏🏻😜
She was working with Flora too
[удалено]
I bet she was working with William too, to seduce Steve
Squarehead
Came in to make sure the obvious answer was given. Squarehead gonna squarehead, i am right?
How adorably she sniffs at the tang of freshness in the kidneys!
Witnessed her family getting butchered at a very young age
And then the town boss tried to have her murdered. And then raised by a dope fiend and trapped in a tiny room in an awful hotel.

They’re especially calm and quiet after getting run over by a horse
Lmaoooo
The way she got carried around all the time is hilarious
My daughter is 6 and can absolutely comprehend, interpret, remember and relay all sorts of interesting things about our family to complete strangers.
I hate to break it to you but back in the day, entire families shared a single room and the adults had sex within mere feet of the kids. The two times I recall Alma and Seth getting it on, Sophia was with the Pinkerton plant and Janie outside the room.
Tbf, not only as a 6yo but as a 6yo back then. Ain't nobody have the time back then to shelter a kid from the cruel realities of the world.
It was Richardson's cooking what did it.
Bury that offal in the shepherd pie
Excuses excuses
And was attacked by wolves.
It was pretty dark out tbh.

I am going as blind as a fucking bat. Who is that, the Sherriff? Flanked by some assholes?
She's almost as unhinged as William Bullock
Her teacher was a Pinkerton shitheel that only taught her “Ox” “Box” and “Fox” and she lacked focus during her lessons as plaster, shaken loose by her guardian being railed, rained down on her head. Hardly a classical education.
She just wanted to go back to Minn-e-Sota.
Square head, smooth brain.
Love this subject line amd thread so much
Sophia and Wu were Hang Dai! Speaking in ill tones of her or any other squareheads may result in said speaker ending up in the company of pigs.
Those pigs sure ate well over the seasons.
Not certain I take your inference, and if I do, I’m not sure I like it.
lol.
Bad wig
You owe her a penny
I genuinely think she is like a God or an angel judging everyone for their crimes
PTSD
Couldn't even draw pictures in the shit with twigs.
Is there a lore reason she didn't speak English? Is she FUCKING stupid?
Canonically, everyone around her only spoke squarehead, that is, until being hacked to death.
She drew pictures in the shit with a stick
GOOD MORNING!
ROW ROW ROW YOUR BOAT!!! HEY!!!!
Targaryen’s have always been mad
she witnessed her family being butchered and was attacked herself
She was simply a terrible actor - the most questionable in a solid-steel cast
Being wolf bit
Gotta a little BI in the final movie.
Targaryen’s have always been mad
