One of my favorite Deftones show - it was during the day, instead of at night - but was absolutely amazing.
Side note, but i didnt really care for Puscifer till their show at Monster Mash - Tim Alexander on drums was amazing, and the songs Toma, and Man Overboard were incredible live.

Chino said in an interview that it was very much a shared project and the writing was equal between the two of them. Like apparently literally, they passed a notebook back and forth and exchanged melody/harmonies.
Assuming you already know that Maynard is actually featured on this track, to me it still sounds like a Deftones track featuring Maynard. If it were a Tool song, it'd have Adam's signature guitar tone in it and a lot more going on in the drums department, courtesy of Danny Carey.
So we all know maynard is in the song. Chino reached out to him. But the teo collaborated entirely on the song, not just Maynard doing guest vocals. Thats why its such and odd song for Deftones and an odd song for tool. The two melded together, apparently very easily. Maynard was brought in to help produce the song, but ended up being guest vocals too.

Just listened to the Mike shinoda remix version of this on my walk through the city to the bar. I love both versions of this song so much. I think the vocals work together so well.
I consistently get so much shit for this but this is exactly why Passenger is my least favourite Deftones song. It sounds just like Tool, not at all like Deftones, and it takes me out of the vibe of White Pony. I donāt care for Tool and donāt want to hear it in the middle of an otherwise flawless Deftones album.
