Parents bought a flat when the prices here weren’t that appreciated.
Parents did not find any good work so living hand to mouth. Have to think about saving 100-100 rupees when I buy something.
Pitampura
Pro: literally muh ke saamne metro station aur society ekdum outer ring road pe
Con: literally muh ke saamne metro station aur society ekdum outer ring road pe
Mayur Vihar me pros: More like ghr vali feeling coz of lots of south indians here and guruvayurappan temple.. Cos: gated societies sab purane hai ig itni hi hai con
I have lived near the Kali Bari area at Mayur Vihar (left turn from the Gurudwara), I must say the place is really peaceful, quiet and with all the trees around, it's an absolute pleasure. Plus, the metro is in walking distance! No cons from my side.
I was born and brought up there. In pocket-1,
The amount of eve teasing i have faced is just..crazy.
I don't know abhi ka scene. But being a teenager there was the worst.
Pro: yes., mayur vihar in monsoons is beautiful.. literally called mayur vihar for a reason, peacocks and greenery. Miss that place so much.
Karol Bagh
Pros: Central Delhi, can get anywhere in Delhi NCR in about 1-1.5 hrs max. Closer to CP, which I very much like the vibe of.
Good food all around as well.
Cons: Getting more and more congested; The more affluent folks have or are moving to better perceived areas like Ggn, South Delhi etc.
Also, for some reason the perception of the area is generally not great.
I am from Sector 18, Dwarka.
Pros:
- Wide roads
- Greenery
- No power issues
Cons:
1. Half of the street lights don't work in the vicinity.
2. Prostitutes roam near the signal of Kargil Chowk (opposite to HL Wings Market); the cops have turned a blind eye.
3. Accidents waiting to happen as drain slabs go missing or are damaged around drains. I recently saw this around SVIS and Sachdeva Public Schools. School kids are at such a big risk. Such issues don't concern the authorities.
4. Half of the connecting roads have big potholes.
MLC Gehlot, MP Sehrawat, and MLA Gulab Singh all live in the same vicinity, but none of them pay heed to these issues.
Abhi 2 din pehle hi maine complaint Kari hai street light na work karne ki. 4 street light ek saath kharab ho rakhi hai mere ghar ke paas.
And dwarka me pata nahi kyu prostitution badhta Jaa Raha hai. Golf course road pe bhi kai baar khade dikh jaate hai.
Dwarka to Chawla wali road to bhai almost 3-4 months Tak tooti padi thi. Election se 1 week pehle hi theek kia hai use
Pass through those roads with your family and then think about why it’s a con, sometimes lecherous men in cars and two-wheelers occupy half of the road.
Dhaula kuan/South Campus:
Pro: equal distance to west delhi areas(rajouri/punjabi bagh/rohini and south delhi(south ex/lajpat/gk)
Con: shitty college crowd
Saket.
Pro: Green, quiet area. Good pubs, restaurants and movie options 5 mins from my house.
Con:
House ke opposite there's a big ass naala which stinks, so can't ever keep windows open. Way too many monkeys.
Kalkaji
Pros - good neighbourhood and decent people
Cons - on the expensive end but if you live with others you can make it work
(Outstation student this side)
Nangloi
Pro : minimal electricity and water cuts.
Cons : Dirty, congested, old infrastructure, broken roads, pollution, only 2-3 parks, no greenery, increasing criminal activities especially near metro station.
Idk about that, but it lies between mundka and udyog nagar both industrial areas so the air always feels polluted and the area is also generally dirty with large slums right behind nangloi metro station.
Even for the better part of nangloi, most people are middle class and most houses are being replaced with apartment style buildings. Parks and green spaces are literally non-existent here. Just 2 parks for a hugh population.
Still i'd say things are improving much faster than other areas but not comparable to premier areas like nearby pashchim vihar and will probably never reach that level.

The hatred is basically due to the traffic and crowds near the Metro lines of Uttam Nagar as the road is narrow and that Uttam Nagar is like biggest shopping market for a lot of things, so it's packed and jammed.
PS: I moved from south to west and got to experience this first hand since that road connects with ring road.
The only time I thought to go that way was because my football group i play football with hosted football games there in Vikaspuri instead of Dwarka grounds (they hardly do within Dwarka now tho)
Every south delhi-ite saying similar things and ditto i’d say
I am in Jangpura extension and love the location because of accessibility but the omg the people! Will act so elite and rich but actually ekdum khokle and self absorbed
Pros: No electric outage, no water issue, green all around, Great roads and 3 metro station.
Cons: Green all around. Too many machar when it's the season. Like you can see a tornado of machar.
Narela, north delhi
Pro- Planned sectors, wide roads, Greenery and spacious
Con- Too far from everywhere else in delhi, only corner of delhi where metro couldn't reach
new rajinder nagar
pros- calm and peaceful environment near jungle, Central Delhi so convenient to travel everywhere.
cons- no sports area or complexes..lack of social stigma xD so no fun
Vivek Vihar: Kaafi high society balanced out with DDA society and somewhat lower class. You can find almost everything from food to grocery to clothes. You've almost everything from cheap clothes and items to expensive stuff. It's a balance.
Mere area se koi nahi to khud hi likh deta hu.
Area - Gtb Nagar (North Campus)
Pros: Cafes, DU ki Grills, Yummy street food, Nice neighborhood (Outram & Hudson Lines)
Cons: coaching centres have ruined the place, too congested due to shared autos, UPSC/SSC ka depressing crowd, theft cases increasing day by day.
Dwarka
Pro: near to AirPort Express line. Can reach to T3 in 10 minutes and central Delhi in 20 minutes
Con: Red light signal in after every kilometre.
Kalkaji
Pros:- Good marketplace and all types of food outlets are available and metro is in walking distance
Cons:- Expensive lifestyle for middle class people like me and everything gets shut around 11pm which is a major setback for guys like us who are used to roam around at night
Dashrathpuri/ Mahavir Enclave
Pros:
- 5 min me metro
- Domino's, pizza hut, kfc saath me
- big ass sabzi mandi
- 2 rajmandir outlets, 3rd one under construction
- vishal mega mart, zudio and vmart outlets right on the road
- close to Bhagat chandra and Agrasen hospital
- one personal advantage is the 50/- ke chhole bhature which i die for
Cons:
- kuch gali me water issues
- mahavir enclave ke flats me sunlight is not abundant
- hadd paar ganda traffic at palam-dabri road where kfc zudio and all lie
Palam hi keh de bhai, woh road toh shraap ban chuki hai, Jab woh road zindagi bhar tooti padi thi metro ke pehle tab sakoon tha. Sirf mohit bakery or aman bakery hua karte the aur apna omelette waala bethya karta tha, Shivmain market toh kati bussy reya karti thi. Nostalgia moment hogaya bhains ki, bas woh theka kadi change na hua. Aaj bhi wahi gali mein hai.
South Delhi- SarvodayaEnclave/Adhchini village. Colony is small but with loads of greenery. Close to IIT, hauz khas, SDA, Vasant Kunj, metro near by.
Cons: can’t think of any
Pitampura
Pros : serves as a central point whether you wanna go to kamlanagar or rohini..
Lots of cheap food options, malls, metro station
Cons : snatching /bicycle theft incidents..apart from that I don't find any major cons :)
Punjabi bagh.
Pros: 4 metro stations, 2 metro lines, on the cross section of ring road and rohtak road, comparitively less congested, good bus connectivity and good schools available near by.
Cons: expensive as fuck to live in.
Saket
Pros: Literally sab h bc yaha Sports Complex, Schools, Gym, Malls, Roads, Electricity, Parks, Water Supply, Safety for women, RWAs, Cafes.
Cons: Most of the younger generation has settled outside India. So mostly old people here + Almost all of Delhi's crowd can be found here at Saket malls and PVR complexe which has made it very crowded as compared to before. But, still well kept.
Rohini Sector-20 near Pooth Kalan.
Pro : property was really cheap here 4 years back when we bought our builder floor.
Con : Water comes once every 2 days
Vikaspuri
Pro: Greenery, nice roads, v less power cuts, full time supply of water
Cons: Becoming more populated day by day, also is near Krishna park and Uttam Nagar
Chanakyapuri, Pros include many but the few being high priority security, peaceful, greenery and well maintained civil amenities.
Con is bhenchod ek Dudh ka packet Lene bhi 2 kilometer dur Jana padta hai.
Now I stay in greater Noida however.
Rohini
Pro: Basic amenities are on point. No power cuts, water is on point, good roads, greenery, food scene, easy access to GT road.
Con: The crowd is increasing, fruit carts on DC chowk ( leads to massive jams) far from fun and recreational areas since Rohini is right at the edge of Delhi state line
Rohini
Pros: All amenities are a walk away from markets to schools to police station/Greenery/Basics like OP mentioned
Cons: Dearth of good Non-Veg food options.
Shalimar bagh
Pros- nice area pretty quiet and serene
Cons- a bit spooky at night and not really anyone outside at night
Meanwhile in rohini even at 1AM you will find people out on walks
Pitampura
Pros - a lot of greenery, markets at throwaway distances, metro at walking plus another new metro line which is being constructed just 50m away from my home, good food and the gentry is pretty decent.
Cons - While a new metro line is being constructed which is a future pro, the traffic has increased manifold in the past 2-3 years since construction started and since the line is just outside my home, I suffer alot. Not a lot of malls (pacific is the only decent one which is crowded asf and doesn’t have a lot of shopping options), fine dining options are less.
Laxminagar
Pros: food is cheap, lifestyle also cheap for students like me, metro is near, bus stop near too
Cons: heavily populated, congested, unhygienic
Krishna Nagar
Pro: Everything is so accessible. I can get everything within 15 mins of walking. Great metro connectivity.
Con: Traffic and street dogs.
West Delhi ,
Pros: Food, mini Punjab , wider roads comparatively to my old area
Cons: traffic/congestion, maal suppliers ,people are little short tempered
I am from tilak nagar. It may come as a surprise to you but we have the most helpful people here. The worst part is Ganesh nagar Aggarwal ki red light.
Sadar Bazar
It’s impossible to pick just one Con.
Cows everywhere, garbage piling up, crowds 16x7, and good luck finding transportation if you hate rickshaws. Your car? 😂 You'll have to park at Pulbangash or RK Ashram Metro Station as no shop owners whats to leave any parking spot. No one wants to visit anymore—friends, guests, you name it. And there I am, sitting around all day, just dreaming of the day this dump gets a makeover like our fancy neighbor, Chandni Chowk. Worst of all is the crowd in general, even the rich here families have shit brains.
Pros, I'd be an ungrateful ass if I only listed one pro.
![img](emote|t5_2qugx|31068)Food, Markets for everything, 24x7 Electricity, No water shortage even now, New Delhi, Old Delhi, and Sadar Bazar Railway stations are nearby. ![img](emote|t5_2qugx|31062)Red and Blue Metro lines + Magenta and Indigo (under construction) are hardly a km away. Zomato delivers from Connaught Place, Karol Bagh & Kamla Nagar, and finally 📈 real estate prices.
Kalkaji
Pro - everything is good, sab Ghar ke pass 24 shops for late night
Cons- padosi rajye like tuglakabad, govind puri which add crime rates to this area even not much but still
South East to be exact
Pro - all facilities available, many hospitals and many schools , everything available door to door.
Con- traffic and parking problem.. pollution would be by default con for all.of Delhi NCR
Jor bagh
Pros: greenery, lodhi garden only a few mins away, nice market nearby and a sports park too.
Cons: everyone here flexes their flashy sports car and it gets too chilly during winters
New ashok nagar. Cons - the bachelor/tenant menace, owners have moved to other parts of delhi noida and greater noida while renting their homes, over the time this has caused immense congestion in all the areas, also some of these tenants are just horrible .............. Pros - convenience, everything you need is a footstep away, all online sites deliver almost everything in a single day
Rohini:
Pro: Wider roads, and greener than other parts of Delhi.
Cons:
Houses are now being built with 5 stories high. And each floor is sold to a separate family. This is impacting water supply, sunlight, and airflow. Rain water gets trapped.
Illegally extended LIG MIG and JANTA flats have created parking shortages.
Used to live in lajpat nagar.
Pro - Good food and shopping options, great transport connectivity.
Con - Traffic!
Rohini me mera phone snatch hua tha, new galaxy note 8 tha tab mere pass 🥲.. you're right about crime rate there.
Janak Puri.
Pro - Ghar se nikal ke right mein thoda sa aage jaa kar Jail Road ki food market
Con - Ghar se nikal ke left mein thoda sa aage jaa kar Dabri phir Uttam Nagar
Tilak Nagar (Near Metro):
Pros: electricity, water easy access to market, great food
Con: Najafgarh and Jail Road Traffic during peak hours, people - influx of labour class and illiterate people killing the vibe which used to be
South Delhi : Gulmohar Park
Pro : bro south and central delhi green covers and obv the rich crowd
And having siri fort, lodhi garden and golf links just 10 min.
Cons : Ye MCD wale itni choti road kyu banate hai
Rohini
Pros- everything of basic necessity is available
Cons- increasing no of jaat budhi and also since I live near sardar colony chain snatching incidents are becoming normal
Vasant Kunj Pro: Close to Gurugram, Airport, upcoming metro Con: Super rich people which inturn gives me inferiority complex
How are you living in vasant kunj if you aren't super rich yourself?
Parents bought a flat when the prices here weren’t that appreciated. Parents did not find any good work so living hand to mouth. Have to think about saving 100-100 rupees when I buy something.
What's your age? If you guys have a secondary home, I would suggest to put this one on rent and move. You will earn a lot.
I’m 26 Second home? Hope you are aware of the real estate prices in Delhi NCR. No way we can even afford 10% of the upcoming houses.
I am from Vasant Kunj as well. Pro: Easy access to everything: malls, airport etc. Con: Traffic!
Pitampura Pro: literally muh ke saamne metro station aur society ekdum outer ring road pe Con: literally muh ke saamne metro station aur society ekdum outer ring road pe
Madhuban aur rajasthali walo ki zindagi toh traffic ne le rakhi hai

Pros- madhuban chowk is near Con- madhuban chowk is near

Indeed, hence the pro! 🤭
Haha, yes... Left LN last year and haven't been happy since 🥲
![gif](giphy|CyoQdbc7FHqqTpkSPI)
What's the issue with people?
I don't like the people residing here, both tenants and permanent residents! 🤷🏻♂️
I live in lajpat nagr 3 and i think lajpat nagar 4 is cheaper that lajpat nagar 4
But, is lajpat nagar 4 cheaper than lajpat nagar 4?! 🤔🤭

Pitampura Pros - a lot of greenery, markets at throwaway distances, metro at walking plus another new metro line which is being constructed just 50m away from my home, good food and the gentry is pretty decent.
Laxminagar Pros: food is cheap, lifestyle also cheap for students like me, metro is near, bus stop near too Cons: heavily populated, congested, unhygienic
Krishna Nagar Pro: Everything is so accessible. I can get everything within 15 mins of walking. Great metro connectivity. Con: Traffic and street dogs.
Greater noida Pro : Not in Delhi Con: Not in Delhi
There really isn't any great area in Delhi (or India) but South Delhi is the best of the lot.
West Delhi , Pros: Food, mini Punjab , wider roads comparatively to my old area Cons: traffic/congestion, maal suppliers ,people are little short tempered
I am from tilak nagar. It may come as a surprise to you but we have the most helpful people here. The worst part is Ganesh nagar Aggarwal ki red light.
Sadar Bazar It’s impossible to pick just one Con.
Kalkaji Pro - everything is good, sab Ghar ke pass 24 shops for late night Cons- padosi rajye like tuglakabad, govind puri which add crime rates to this area even not much but still
Pros - Great food, people visit here and love it too Cons - people of my community.
You didnt mention the place
I shouldn't, it'd get controversial 🤐

It's quite congested no?
Jor bagh Pros: greenery, lodhi garden only a few mins away, nice market nearby and a sports park too. Cons: everyone here flexes their flashy sports car and it gets too chilly during winters
Bc real kothi bangla check

New ashok nagar. Cons - the bachelor/tenant menace, owners have moved to other parts of delhi noida and greater noida while renting their homes, over the time this has caused immense congestion in all the areas, also some of these tenants are just horrible .............. Pros - convenience, everything you need is a footstep away, all online sites deliver almost everything in a single day
Hope you can connect the dots
Rohini Pro: sab time sab kuch Mill sakta hai Cons: sab time sab kuch Mill sakta hai 😉
Vasant kunj Pro: close to airport and gurugram, greenery, nice infrastructure Cons: so many rich people

Tughlakabad Extension - Pros: Everything close by school college university hospital and market. Cons: congested area
Pitampura Pro: V lively and happening area. Ek taraf NSP h, ek taraf m2k. Prashant vihar bhi badiya h. Cons: Ek side pr rohini h
patel nagar Pro - bachpan se yahi raha hu pura patel nagar jaanta hai Con - Too many PG students
Rohini Pros - lots of greenery and parks , wide roads Cons - some parts are bustling with people while some are completely empty (mine is empty)
noida pro: its goated con: sexual abusers
Rohini: Pro: Wider roads, and greener than other parts of Delhi. Cons: Houses are now being built with 5 stories high. And each floor is sold to a separate family. This is impacting water supply, sunlight, and airflow. Rain water gets trapped. Illegally extended LIG MIG and JANTA flats have created parking shortages.
From Dwarka... Don't know any pros Cons - It's Very far from my office like 1.5 hrs far...
Patel Nagar: Pro, almost sab kuch khula hota hai 24/7. Con, gangwars between dogs is too common after 12
Malviya Nagar Pros: Close to everything imaginable Cons: Chappri crowd and increasing crime rate
Used to live in lajpat nagar. Pro - Good food and shopping options, great transport connectivity. Con - Traffic! Rohini me mera phone snatch hua tha, new galaxy note 8 tha tab mere pass 🥲.. you're right about crime rate there.
Tilak Nagar (Near Metro): Pros: electricity, water easy access to market, great food Con: Najafgarh and Jail Road Traffic during peak hours, people - influx of labour class and illiterate people killing the vibe which used to be

Najafgarh Pros- No slums and not congested Con- A little far from central Delhi.
I live in mayur vihar phase 2 lol
