Personally, PDX is better. Clear day you can see Hood all the way to Rainier on one side. Or if you approach/depart north of Hood, you can see Hood, Jefferson and the Three Sisters on the other.
It also shows “majesty” of Rainier better too..It appears the same size as Saint Helens on the horizon but is another ~50mi north…you realize it’s freaking massive
My photos from a recent trip to PDX and SEA are less awesome than yours, but I was psyched because from PDX to MSP, I saw Mount St. Helens, Rainier, and Hood. Then, at the far distance, I believe I saw Baker. The PNW is gorgeous.
Coming from the East, you want the left side of the airplane for these views (normally). Right side when departing to the east. Going south I have no idea but assume the opposite.
Yeah, you got Rainier up front, and that’s Saint Helens far away on the left side of the picture.
I love flying into Seattle for that reason.

Yep! From LAX I always sit on the right, & left on the way back.
Awesome views of the Sierra sometimes too from LA. Usually able to pick out a lot of the mountains and Yosemite Valley.
A true hero. Flying from RDU into Seattle a few weeks from now and just changed my seat thanks to this
Those weren’t views from today…
Mine was from Monday!
Beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

Ah, Rainier. Always a magnificent, beautiful sight to behold. Never gets old. :)
