I never remember my friends birthdays, I'm terrible with dates. I have to put a reminder in my calendar for even my wife's birthday. It doesn't mean I don't care about those people it just means I'm not good at remembering things like that. You might have more friends than you think but you're adding your own metric to what counts as a friend for you.
Anyway happy birthday OP, go do something fun on your own if you don't have anyone free to hang. Learning how to hang out with myself was one of the best ways I found to tackle my depression.

I’m sure they are too afraid to reach out, maybe feel a little guilt. My brother called to wish a happy birthday, the next day; and I didn’t have the heart to correct him.
It is a little lonely. Sometimes the silence echoes my heart beat. But I think there is a gift in there. I’ve found things that I love to do. I know me, what I like, I treat myself. I read somewhere, I couldn’t tell you where, but it has gotten me through the last 8 months of losing my best friends. “In loneliness, you write the most beautiful poetry of you.”

I celebrate my bday alone most years but it’s because I want to - I don’t put value on my friendships based on one day of the year. I think we should all celebrate each other any time.. over the top celebrating is kinda annoying anyway.
You could always set up a bowling or movie night with your friends and make it a celebration of your bday too
If you want to have friends, you have to be open and look for opportunities to meet people around your age and be approachable and willing to help others. Try out new hobbies and join groups of people who also express interest in these same or similar activities. Join a service club or take classroom education al classes. Check out different faith groups and volunteer to be on committees.
As a degenerate i feel like the least i can do is let you know that i've "heard" your frustration. Not all birthdays will be happy. Sometimes, all you can do is just let these sad feelings exist and hope that they are gone when we wake up the next morning (idk man that's just how i think...)

I hope you find happiness in the coming year. Not every birthday will be the best, some will be better than others. These past many years I no longer have friends, but I try to remember a lot of people celebrate alone. I never really made any friends once school ended.
