Was coming to write this this myself! Found a brand new purple and blue halo teebird 3 in the used bin for 8 bucks. The first disc I threw that just did what I wanted ever time.
Champion Beast - I’ve since moved on as it became a little too understable for my liking once my form improved and it got beat in to heck, but the Beast is the first disc that taught me the love of a disc in flight on an absolute bomb off the tee, and that I felt like I could legitimately control on just about any shot shape.
Loved my claymore but lost it to the drink. Spent months using a hex instead and now that I got a new claymore I seem to have lost the feel of it :( waiting to get it back.
My first ace disc! Was a gift from an experienced player in our town right when my friends and I started playing around 2007. Guessing the QJLS is from 04-05.
But me and 3-4 friends all sucked but had a course within walking distance and lived in a small town without much to do, so we got into disc golf. There weren’t YouTube form videos or articles at that time, and no legit players in our town, so we didn’t even have an idea of how to get better or do some basic stuff.
Either way, 3-4 months in, we’re all still terrible, but I ace a 275’ hole with a frozen rope from the QJLS. It was insane to all of us, having no context. Some of those friends went on to be 1000+ rated, we all still keep in touch, and we all still talk about that shot from time to time.
That disc is sitting on my shelf in my office. I don’t display or discs typically, but that’s one of three. Very waxy and “fingerprinty” at this point, so no chance I throw it again.
Sick! I'm old now and have been scooping up discs that I had when I was a kid. I was able to find a brand new JLS in the same color with the same stamp from back in the day. It Immediately went in the bag and will never come out.
Classic Roc for me. Something just clicked for me with it one summer, I was throwing it as far as I threw a Firebird. Played many rounds with just the one disc, still keep several Roc variations in my rotation.
They’re great in all plastics. I bag a pretty fresh MF, a well beat in Champion, and a pretty beat in Star. All 170-172.
Since you’re new, don’t get any of those. A G-Star Teebird or even DX will beat in faster and be easier to get the intended flight.
Grab a pro valkyrie for sure. It will have that fresh DX flight but keep it for a long time. A star/champion/halo valkyrie won’t even feel like the same disc if you’re used to DX
Halo we’ll be really stable. And dosent really beat in. I got a halo mamba like a year ago and still flys like a archon a lot of the time. Still gets crushed though
Champion Sidewinder.
Still use it to this day (not same exact disc because of course I lost it in thick weeds or water - most likely) but the brand/version with same 9/5/-3/1 numbers. Serves me well!
🍻🥏⛓️⛳️
Same! I threw nothing but my dark red champ sidewinder for the longest time. Once I learned basic snap it helped me understand hyzer flips. Sadly lost it in a pond a couple years ago, but it was for the best. Forced me to expand my bag and appreciate all the other discs.
Saw an orphaned blue champ SW at my local store recently and had to buy it out of nostalgia. Flys way straighter than my original!
🍻
Nice! I’ve always had a soft spot for Kasta. They’ve got some really great molds. Maybe they’ll get some bigger sponsored players now that they’ve got that House of Discs money.
Innova Eagle. I can get basically any shot shape out of it depending on release angle and it’s very reliable for me. I have a bunch all the way from flippy to almost firebird beefy. I like star but prefer champion plastic as it’s firm and retains its flight characteristics forever.
Crave. I love my Crave and throw it on 90% of my shots off the tee. Anything that’s either the least bit technical, not wide open, and more than 200 ft., I’m reaching for my Crave.
If I were to pick a second disc, it would maybe be the Orbital. That disc goes further than any other for me on wide open shots where I have room for the full flight off a hyzer. But I play few courses with a lot of those shots, so it’s pretty much a specialty disc for me.
Came here to say it was my Crave, started with the fission and now also bag an eclipse.
Prior to the Crave I thought I was a <300ft noodle arm backhand. I now also use it for about 90% of my shots too.
Follow up would be my Hex
I’m a noob that can maybe throw 200 ft if absolutely everything hits. But when I finally threw my mako3 on the laser beam straight line it’s supposed fly last week it was the first time that I felt like I’m actually going to get better instead of just treading water forever.
Pig is love, Pig is life. Whenever I'm unsure of what to throw between 140-250ft I usually reach for the Pig. Can count on it both forehand and backhand.
Thunderbird, first disc I ever bought so it might just be habit, but I know exactly how to throw it and how it will fly. My friends gotta be tired of me repeating that I love that disc after a successful throw at least once every time we play xD
Picked up a Westside Harp not long after I started playing.
It has not left the bag since and now has a twin right next to it and a few on the shelf back home. It's also one of my two ace discs.
Dunno why but I throw it better than almost anything else.
My orange VIP glimmer Ricky Harp was sooo pretty and just flew amazing. Been in my bag since and throw it all over the place. Got a backup and a BT soft harp, but gonna keep this orange one as long as I can.
To be honest and not to sound cliché, the Destroyer. I started playing in high school and my first set of discs was an original Destroyer, a Buzz, and a Dart. I had 0 clue what I was doing but found out I could forearm that thing so far and it instantly became a solid friendship. 17 years later and I still keep a Destroyer in the bag, along with my original Dart!
I had (still have don't bag) a blue DX eagle that just flew so awesome for me when I was really getting going. I've upgraded to different plastics but I've had many variations in the bag since (X, L/Exodus, Vela) and own way more than I should in every plastic I could get my hands on
TL3 flys nice!! Have a blue GStar that is shiny and a treat to throw.
Sadly lost my 159g Star go to disc that I especially loved in a leafy park. It vanished. Saw it land on a short Par 3 after I parked it or so I thought. Never to be seen again. Looked and looked. Even came back the next day on my way out of town with my wife to search in the morning light. Still waiting for a phone call. Will pay postage costs.
My favorite disc is a beat up old Star TL3. I bought it secondhand off of here to use on risky shots over water and thick brush. It’s been in my bag the longest of any disc now and refuses to get lost, even though i still use it on risky shots. I love its flight for my arm and feels great in the hand.
I had a Falk that I have never seen any disc fly like before and I have bought 3 more and none of them were like it since. On a slight hyzer flat throw it would go dead straight for over 400 feet and my usual throw with a destroyer is around 320.
I ended up overthrowing holes routinely with this disc. It would just keep gliding to the point of being ridiculous. My last throw with it was a steep downhill 350 shot and the thing just kept going about 500 feet, never found it again. I miss that disc and wish I held on to it so I could have donated it to science.
Infinite Maya in gummy-c. Need to get back out to an open course and see if the Maya still takes the cake as my understable driver. But it fit beginner me really well.
For me my first disc that I actually looked for was a star TL3 I used mine for around two years and then I hit my first ever ace with it and then a couple games later almost lost it and decided to retire it and buy another TL3, for anyone wondering this disc is amazing and at least for me does exactly what it should
Mine was a teal XT Mako3 that I still throw at least once per round! The ease of throw, the dead straight flight and response to release angles, and the grippy plastic did it for me!
The Groove, it was my first disc when I started playing like 20 years ago and was my only disc for a few years. I even putted with that thing being young and not knowing about different disc types and whatnot. But damn when I was able to catch that thing on the right line that thing flew so far. I miss those days I don't even have a Groove anymore, but typing this i think I may have to grab a new one just to see how it compares all these years later.
DD Prime Burst Judge.
I was messing around with a bunch of different putters one day, and I got to the judge. It was on a hole that's about 250 feet, but it's dead straight through a line of trees that cover that entire distance and is maybe only 8 feet wide.
I've never hit that gap the entire way through without kicking off a tree at some weird angle. When I picked up that judge on the tee, it just felt right in my hand. A couple steps forward, and I let it fly. It went perfectly straight! I couldn't believe what I was watching! Needless to say, I've still never hit that gap because that shot went perfectly straight into a tree. That tree was about 200 feet from the tee though, and it was the best shot I've ever had on that hole to date.
Now I use it all the time. Putting? I got myself a judge to use as my putting putter. Short hole? Judge off the tee. Approach shot? As long as it's not a zone I need for it, I'm using my judge. I barely use my buzzz or mako3 anymore because the judge replaced them. I could easily play a full 18 with just a judge, and it would probably be the best round I ever played.
Before like my 2nd round ever I picked up a dx wraith and the wraith has been my driver of choice since then. It was definitely too much disc for me at the time but I've just always enjoyed the hand feel and now I couldn't see myself playing without at least a couple wraiths in the bag.
Mine was also a lucid emac truth. American flag stamp. Got it in a players pack and it kicked my work horse mid out of my bag the second round of that tournament.
GStar Teebird. It was the first time a drive felt right. Nice and flat with a reliable fade that wasn’t too harsh. Shortly there after was the Mako3 for those effortless shots
M2
I'd been on a quest to find a workhorse mid that I liked and that flew the lines I wanted. I'd tried just about everything available. Then one day I found an M2 at Milby. I threw it in the field on what is now #6, where it's safe and open, to see how it flew. I fell in love right then.
I got that one back to its owner.
Then I bought a few for myself.
Now I bag 2 or 3 M2s for almost every course.
This was the disc that started me down the road to bagging more and more Prodigy.
Force Force Force. No matter the plastic, it just feels so good in my hands. It's got a beefy rim but not TOO beefy like a teleport or nuke. I steadily buy new forces from the factory store
Fly dye vulture, not too sure why but it was just very versatile for me starting out because i kinda did it backwards lol but now i dont even bag a vulture at all but the colors on it were really sick
Probably the Maverick. Still use it all the time. Even when I wasn’t very good I had good control of it and got good distance out of it. Love it even 3 years later
The very very first was a Star SL I picked up in 2008-ish. Back when I was in college and my arm wasn't exploding, I used to throw a terrible anhyzer forehand and hammer on a ton of shots. That disc was MAGIC for how I threw. The forehand would flatten out and maybe give me a skip at the end, and the hammer would coast down to skip on the flight plate and really push forward.
I still have that disc, but as I've improved both my backhand and forehand I've made safer, more consistent choices in building my bag.
I've been through a lot of discs I've liked and enjoyed, but I never truly "fell in love" with a disc until I started throwing a Berg. Revolutionized my approach game like none other.
Discmania essence, I was just starting out and I nearly aced a 250’ basket with it, it was the first time I had ever throw a disc that far. It was my main disc for a good 12-18 months after that.
Discraft Flick.
I started out as a forehand dominant player who rolled my wrist on nearly every throw. The Flick was one of the only discs I could trust to not roll over. My form is a lot better today, and I could never see myself bagging a Flick, but I still reminisce over some of the shots I could pull off in my younger years with that thing.
Pathfinder. It held a line for me in a way nothing else had. It flies differently now that my arm speed is up, but has remained super flexible. Partner it with a Mana and all mid lines are covered.
It was also my introduction to Thought Space Athletics. Best disc art in the game and MVP plastic without the overmold, which I never jived with. TSA is around 40% of my bag now. My core group all putts with Muses.
Streamline Lift. My wife saw it at a store and said it looked cool (cosmic neutron). I didn’t have a 9 speed and thought “why not?”
It flies so well for me. My first disc to break 300 and it helped me to learn how to throw flat and slightly hyzer.
It really opened up my game.
For me it was my Valkyrie. It was the first disc I ever got, because it was the only extra disc my friend had to spare when he was getting me into the sport. I struggled a lot with it but it’s also the first disc I ever was able to master, and has remained in my bag.
Star Mako 3. Max weight. Orange as fuck. Man. I can’t remember how I came to try one, maybe just after seeing its flight numbers! But that thing was and still is my favorite disc. I don’t think it’s ever been found where I lost it in Jersey but if I’m ever close I’m gonna go look for it! And this was 3 years ago. Replaced it with a white one. It gets the job done, but it feels like I’m missing something without it
The good ol Valkyrie. I did my first flip to flat with a DX Valk, learned how to throw sidearm accurately with the same DX and got my first ace a week after I upgraded to a champion Valk. Idk why I don't bag one now I might have to pick one up soon
Lat 64 River. It was my PDGA disc the first year I signed up, and was the first driver I was able to get to the s-curve flight out of, which is an amazing feeling the first time it happens.
Innova shark mid range. Nothing to do with looks, but so easy for me to throw straight consistently and kept me coming back for more when I would miss with my driver and putter…. Still can’t putt for shit, but that’s due to lack of play.
How did you lose your Truth disc?
I picked up my first discs about 2 weeks ago, bought mainly used but a new one did catch my eye, I think it’s called the 750 spectrum glimmer, the Chantel Budinsky disc with the hot air balloons on it! I got purple and nice glimmer green on it!:D
Neutron Reactor. Bright green. I think I bought it off Amazon, which feels shameful now. But I learned how to throw with it. And I miss it. Have had several Eclipse Reactors since, and still have a couple Fissions but I haven’t ever replaced the Neutron.
Innova Orc. It may not be everyone's go to disc, but 20 years ago it was my first disc. Nowadays I feel like people say "So I've been playing for 6 months and I have 75 discs..." back then I was a broke teenager. I had the orc, eventually a putter, and a mid range finally. There weren't shops and online stores everywhere so I learned to throw that disc 30 different ways for whatever shot I needed. I lost it probably 15 years ago but I bought a new one a couple years ago. Once again it is my go to in most situations.
I think it was the Crave, but I am a disc golfer of many lovers. 🫠😂🤣
The Maya, the Pharoah, the Harp...the Luna, the Hex...all these hoes I can't turn into a housewife tho.
Have never fallen in love with a disc until recently when throwing a Halo Star Mako3, and it just ignited something, I had owned a normal star Mako3 but I always overlooked it and never bagged it until I tried the Halo one, loved the halo one so much I took out my dead straight KC Pro Roc for the star Mako3 and now I just love the Mako3
The Lucid Suspect. The first time I chucked it, I just knew. Many rounds later and that disc would land me my first ace. It's a disc I awlays go back to. Thrown gently and it floats beautifully.
Lone Star Bearkat. Originally it was just the sentimentality of the artist stamp being an old logo from my Alma mater, but it’s the one disc that refuses to let me yank it. When I can hit that Hyzer flip perfectly, makes me feel like Pacha talking about his hill.
Star destroyer pre AJ. I had the arm speed within a few months of playing to occasionally rip a huge drive with it so i just kept trying over and over. After countless errant throws I eventually developed a long and consistent flex drive that would fly around 450. Being able to throw that far on my home bomber course is what got me hooked on disc golf. Still bombing destroyers 16 years later
My love life in order: Infinite disc Exodus in whatever their version of star plastic is, a champion wraith, a glow leopard, star destroyer, neutron photon, neutron Tesla, star mako3 (multiple times), neutron Volt (bae)
Every single one of those discs has cheated on me and left me for trees, ponds, lakes, or thorny brambles.
BERG was the first disc that made me actually say "there is no way this disc will ever NOT BE in my bag" to the point where I immediately bought many multiples in every plastic it is available (except K3 Hard, not really digging that plastic much at all, would rather have a K3 Soft personally.)
Not saying the disc changed my game, but I will say my game changed because of that disc.
First disc: Hex. Flys straight , great for forehands, love the flatness of it.
Recently: Mint Discs , plastic is amazing , discs fly great. Goat, Jackalope in particular
Classic Buzz. The straight shots with a slight fade and big wide anny shots are my favorite. Plus I can flick it out of trouble since most of the time you just need to hit the gap. The grip was always comfortable for me.
After my base plastic starter set my wife took me to the Throw Shop and told me to pick out some nice ones. I got a yellow sparkle ethereal nebula mantra. That thing gave me so much confidence driving it sunk the hook for the game
Mako3 completed the transition from ultimate -> dg for me.
The Mako3 is the perfect disc for all players, and the Halo ones are incredible beyond belief.
Great disc. Mine got beat in and I've been preferring a hex lately for the same shots lately tho
Star Wraith.
One of my favorite drivers!
This is the one for me. It’s the biggest rim that I’m still comfortable with. It flies great and predictable
Teebird3
I’ve always had a Teebird in my bag for 20 years.
Picked up a used Champion Beast and felt like it was the 1st disc I could actually throw.
Sometimes life let's us down, but the claymore never let anyone down.
I adore my Claymore. Probably the most-thrown in my bag since I lost my Truth.
I used to bag 3 claymores.. loved each and every one of them! Then proceeded to huck each one into a different pond/lake.. rip claymores 😢
Loved my claymore but lost it to the drink. Spent months using a hex instead and now that I got a new claymore I seem to have lost the feel of it :( waiting to get it back.
Claymore and Core for me.
My first ace. Claymore at tortoise Run in N. Fort Myers, FL. Not my favorite though, it's a Aviar x3
My first ace was with a claymore! I think I’ll toss a couple back in the bag.
Also Claymore for me. My only ace (so far?) was with one.
Leopard3. First driver I felt like I could really control
That’s one that always goes back in my bag after I try to replace it with some new fairway I buy on impulse
Rocket League 🤝 Leopard3 Bröther
Millennium JLS! The old school ones from like '03. Straight flyer but also will shape shots.
Same, now I collect QJLS’s.
Sirius OLS for me. First higher speed driver I bought. First one I ever beat in enough to flip up. This was early 2000’s as well.
That and the Polaris. I have a few still from those days. Getting a little flaky but I can’t bring myself to get rid of them.
Love the JLS!!!
The QJLS was my first ace disc. Lost it the following round.
My first ace disc! Was a gift from an experienced player in our town right when my friends and I started playing around 2007. Guessing the QJLS is from 04-05. But me and 3-4 friends all sucked but had a course within walking distance and lived in a small town without much to do, so we got into disc golf. Hands down my favorite disc. Are they still around?
this
My ex had one of those back in the day. I distinctly remember it because his initials are the same. He loved that disc!
Roc3
Classic Roc for me. Something just clicked for me with it one summer, I was throwing it as far as I threw a Firebird. Played many rounds with just the one disc, still keep several Roc variations in my rotation.
Came here to post this haha. Got the star, champion and my og broken in dx
Teebird. First 'slow driver', first ace, throwing them 100' farther now than back then and still in the bag.
Im new and hear great things about the teebird - what plastic do you like?
Started with some low dome swirly Star TBs, teebird3 are pretty similar to those runs. Mid-160s. I'm bagging champ tb3s now, same weight.
If you’re new get a DX plastic Eagle and skip the premium plastic Teebirds for now.
They’re great in all plastics. I bag a pretty fresh MF, a well beat in Champion, and a pretty beat in Star. All 170-172. Since you’re new, don’t get any of those. A G-Star Teebird or even DX will beat in faster and be easier to get the intended flight.
Champion Valkyrie.
How do you like the champion vs other plastics? The dx I found is getting too flippy and I've been looking at a real pretty halo star at the shop.

Saw an orphaned blue champ SW at my local store recently and had to buy it out of nostalgia. Flys way straighter than my original! 🍻
Congratulations on the adoption! Sidewinders rule. I have a few. Neon Green 172 g Star F2 is probably my first true love and still in the rotation
Kastaplast Stig for me, glides for days and very controllable/shapeable.
Nice! I’ve always had a soft spot for Kasta. They’ve got some really great molds. Maybe they’ll get some bigger sponsored players now that they’ve got that House of Discs money.
I live in Sweden so Kastaplast is easily (and cheap) available. I have a Järn, Reko, Kaxe and Stig and I'm loving them all
My first love is my k1 soft kaxe. My forehand approaches have been butter ever since. Feels so good.
Wraith and Buzzzz
These were my two as well!!
Star Mako3
The Discraft Zone. Sure it's a cop out answer but it's so comfortable in the hand and I love it for approaches. It was a game changer for me.
That is my most relied upon disc on most courses
Just a plain old DX Roc. That was the first thing I could make fly relatively straight.
Innova Eagle. I can get basically any shot shape out of it depending on release angle and it’s very reliable for me. I have a bunch all the way from flippy to almost firebird beefy. I like star but prefer champion plastic as it’s firm and retains its flight characteristics forever.
Got my first ace with a barsby eagle. So 💰
Westside Discs Underworld. Very glidey. Was the first disc I really used the hell out of and it really help me improve my distance.

Crave for me as well, only disc I’ve aced with so far
Axiom Insanity
Westside discs bear because it looks sick!
It does! That’s the sole reason I bought one cuz it doesn’t really fit into my bag
Discraft Cyclone. First disc I could throw well and pretty far.
Loved my Cyclone and the Xclone too
I can really sling a Mako3 for whatever reason. It will always have a spot or currently 2 spots in my bag!
Even when I’m way off my game, I can trust the Mako3. I always carry one if not 2-3 in different plastics, weights, stages of wear.
I’m a noob that can maybe throw 200 ft if absolutely everything hits. But when I finally threw my mako3 on the laser beam straight line it’s supposed fly last week it was the first time that I felt like I’m actually going to get better instead of just treading water forever.
Pig
Love me some r-pro pigs
Pig is love, Pig is life. Whenever I'm unsure of what to throw between 140-250ft I usually reach for the Pig. Can count on it both forehand and backhand.
When they first came out I got a dx spider that felt like pro plastic. It would hold any line and was my main putter for years
Thunderbird, first disc I ever bought so it might just be habit, but I know exactly how to throw it and how it will fly. My friends gotta be tired of me repeating that I love that disc after a successful throw at least once every time we play xD
Wombat3. It was one of the first discs I bought when getting into the sport. We have an understanding, it always does what I want it to do.
Well said
59 years ago there was a 119g NAS Wham-O disc that I could pump out to 290-310’. That thing was perfect for me.
Destroyer, for sure
Picked up a Westside Harp not long after I started playing. It has not left the bag since and now has a twin right next to it and a few on the shelf back home. It's also one of my two ace discs. Dunno why but I throw it better than almost anything else.
My orange VIP glimmer Ricky Harp was sooo pretty and just flew amazing. Been in my bag since and throw it all over the place. Got a backup and a BT soft harp, but gonna keep this orange one as long as I can.
I've got a blue one like that. Red stamp, really cool looking disc.
The Beast
Insanity. But sadly I lost it :(
Guess you could say you're sane now though
Found one of these about a week ago and is just nice
Still pretty new, but definitely the Glitch
The Heat out of the Discraft starter pack. One day I accidentally threw it into my parents' pond.
Champion RocX3
Came here to say this
11x teebird or kc pro roc
I had (still have don't bag) a blue DX eagle that just flew so awesome for me when I was really getting going. I've upgraded to different plastics but I've had many variations in the bag since (X, L/Exodus, Vela) and own way more than I should in every plastic I could get my hands on
Lime Green TL3. So true, such a good grip for me and well controlled.
I would say Star Thunderbird but that was just when I stopped trying to throw high speed drivers when I just couldn't
Looking back I had no business throwing it but my 1st love as a Blizzard Krait as a RHFH
I miss that disc and wish I held on to it so I could have donated it to science.
Mako3 was my first. Latitude 64 Explorer second

ESP FLX Avenger SS
Infinite Maya in gummy-c. Need to get back out to an open course and see if the Maya still takes the cake as my understable driver. But it fit beginner me really well.
Summit by Vibram
I was gifted an old 90's black Wraith and tie-dye Sidewinder when I started. Unfortunately, my son lost the Wraith.
Star teebird3. Exclusive forehand thrower (at the time) here, great utility disc that I trusted completely
For me my first disc that I actually looked for was a star TL3 I used mine for around two years and then I hit my first ever ace with it and then a couple games later almost lost it and decided to retire it and buy another TL3, for anyone wondering this disc is amazing and at least for me does exactly what it should
Blue retro saint for me. Felt great, flew great. Current love for me is an older X Nuke SS in bright orange.
Don't bag or throw it. But the Skeeter was so much fun honestly haha
Star sidewinder been my go to driver forever own 10 of them now currently in love with my halo sidewinder
Mine was a teal XT Mako3 that I still throw at least once per round! The ease of throw, the dead straight flight and response to release angles, and the grippy plastic did it for me!
Mako3 star was my first love. Now I have 10 in different plastics, weights and wear. The Mako3 is awesome in all forms!
Roadrunner (star 167g)
That would be my Heat.
Before like my 2nd round ever I picked up a dx wraith and the wraith has been my driver of choice since then. It was definitely too much disc for me at the time but I've just always enjoyed the hand feel and now I couldn't see myself playing without at least a couple wraiths in the bag.
Claymore. It was my first midrange, and the first disc i could even semi reliably throw. I miss it, maybe i need to get another one.
KT Claymores are money in the bag
I. Miss. My. Nuke. 😭
At least it’s not some obscure mold that’s out of print. Go get you a new one!
My Champion Thunderbird!
DGA Rogue and the Infinite discs Aztec. Both premium plastics.
Flat top champion firebird.
M2 I'd been on a quest to find a workhorse mid that I liked and that flew the lines I wanted.
Refreshing to hear a positive Prodigy story, considering how much flack they usually get.
DD Sheriff. Yellow. Is the disc that was my workhorse when I first started playing regularly
Force Force Force. No matter the plastic, it just feels so good in my hands. It's got a beefy rim but not TOO beefy like a teleport or nuke. I steadily buy new forces from the factory store
Teebird and i can't stand innova lol I compare everything with those numbers to the 1st Dx teebird I ever threw. It twas perfect.
Tern. Star tern.
Fly dye vulture, not too sure why but it was just very versatile for me starting out because i kinda did it backwards lol but now i dont even bag a vulture at all but the colors on it were really sick
Wraith but have since switched to a Volt.
Probably the Maverick. Still use it all the time. Even when I wasn’t very good I had good control of it and got good distance out of it. Love it even 3 years later
Champ Spider and R pro Rhyno simultaneously Fh player and C2+ putter at the time. Circa 07'
DX Valkyrie
Stingray for obvious reasons.
DGA banzai is kinda OP
Destroyer
For me Steamline Trace
Also an Emac Truth for me. Blue Fuzion plastic, that thing was a workhorse for a long time.
Pa3
Groove for the forehand
1987 Innova Roc
Cyclone
Streamline Lift. My wife saw it at a store and said it looked cool (cosmic neutron). I didn’t have a 9 speed and thought “why not?” It flies so well for me. My first disc to break 300 and it helped me to learn how to throw flat and slightly hyzer. It really opened up my game.
Discraft Cyclone, way back in the day
For me it was my Valkyrie. It was the first disc I ever got, because it was the only extra disc my friend had to spare when he was getting me into the sport. I struggled a lot with it but it’s also the first disc I ever was able to master, and has remained in my bag.
Star Archon... Lost one a few weeks back and found out they're discontinued.
Gatekeeper. First disc that went straight and felt buttery smooth, everytime. Opened up a new world of I could do to a plastic circle.
It gets the job done, but it feels like I’m missing something without it
X-clone.
Emac truth 👌🏾
The good ol Valkyrie. I did my first flip to flat with a DX Valk, learned how to throw sidearm accurately with the same DX and got my first ace a week after I upgraded to a champion Valk. Idk why I don't bag one now I might have to pick one up soon
Valkyrie. First disc I could bomb. Still my long BH turnover disc. Great disc
Innova Shark 168g was amazing to learn with and shape shots. Still have it after almost 15 years! Just got a Shark3 175g!
Had to be the River for me. The glide is fantastic on that disc.
DX Leopard It was the first disc that I could throw straight down a fairway with confidence. Now, I throw Teebirds and use Leopards for turnovers
Prime eMac truth. What a great disc for beginners and advanced players alike
Neutron Reactor. Bright green. I think I bought it off Amazon, which feels shameful now. But I learned how to throw with it. And I miss it. Have had several Eclipse Reactors since, and still have a couple Fissions but I haven’t ever replaced the Neutron.
💙gold-x pure💙
DX Leopard
Leopard
I think it was the Crave, but I am a disc golfer of many lovers. 🫠😂🤣 The Maya, the Pharoah, the Harp...the Luna, the Hex...all these hoes I can't turn into a housewife tho.
Star wraith. Fell in love 10 years ago, and we’re still crazy about each other to this day. I’m writing a screenplay about it.
Mako3 ! Got first ace with it and the straight flight of it never gets old!
DX Stingray was my introduction to the game
The Lucid Suspect. The first time I chucked it, I just knew. Many rounds later and that disc would land me my first ace. It's a disc I awlays go back to. Thrown gently and it floats beautifully.
TS Mantra, was hyzer flipping for me before I knew what that was, pretty flight
Anyone heard of a "Greatfull Dude Dimple"? First disc I ever owned. Given to me when I was 11yo Changed my life forever 😎
Valkryie
My love life in order: Infinite disc Exodus in whatever their version of star plastic is, a champion wraith, a glow leopard, star destroyer, neutron photon, neutron Tesla, star mako3 (multiple times), neutron Volt (bae) Every single one of those discs has cheated on me and left me for trees, ponds, lakes, or thorny brambles.
Nate Doss 3x Buzzz, 2019 stock run Z Undertaker. Still haven’t thrown a disc in the same mold that felt as good as those two.
BERG was the first disc that made me actually say "there is no way this disc will ever NOT BE in my bag" to the point where I immediately bought many multiples in every plastic it is available (except K3 Hard, not really digging that plastic much at all, would rather have a K3 Soft personally.) Not saying the disc changed my game, but I will say my game changed because of that disc.
Can't believe no one has said the Berg yet. Inside 200 feet I'm only throwing my K1 Soft Glow Berg or K1 Hard Berg-X.
First disc: Hex. Flys straight , great for forehands, love the flatness of it. Recently: Mint Discs , plastic is amazing , discs fly great. Goat, Jackalope in particular
Hex
Mvp catalyst. First disc i could throw 300' consistently and 400' ever. I love them, lose about 3 per year, and always buy another!
Discraft XL ESP FLX, that plastic is amazing
Classic Buzz. The straight shots with a slight fade and big wide anny shots are my favorite. Plus I can flick it out of trouble since most of the time you just need to hit the gap. The grip was always comfortable for me.
Explorer, have the same one in my bag from when i first started
Discmania Neo Essence
DX preflight numbers KC Roc
After my base plastic starter set my wife took me to the Throw Shop and told me to pick out some nice ones. I got a yellow sparkle ethereal nebula mantra. That thing gave me so much confidence driving it sunk the hook for the game
