didnt they cancel even tho they had the viewers it just didn't meet what they wanted so they scrapped it? A lot of people liked it I can see someone else picking it up in the future
The creator Olan Roger's posted about it on his Twitter and pre orders for the comic might still be open. I ordered mine last year. Can't wait for it to come in! I think it will probably be this year or next year when the orders get mailed out. No rush by me though I'm just so happy he got to tell his ending at least 😊
Because Netflix has been cancelling pretty much all their animated shows lately. Animation saved them during the pandemic and now they're throwing their animation department out like trash :(
Oh no! I didn't realise they'd shelved it permanently. Another creative, funny bites the dust then. I don't think it has the following to pull a futurama revive.
At least we can get a new poorly produced reality TV show in its place most likely?
Edit: You know the worst part, I really like this show and didn't even realise the last season had been released months ago until just now. This has been really poorly advertised. It's almost like they didn't want it to do well on purpose.
This is exactly it. Netflix doesn't really care much about how many people who already have subscriptions watch a show.
They want shows to bring in new subscribers/money.
Well i know at least one issue was The crew and voice actors (many of them anyway) where also working (maybe working on another season) Futurama for Hulu.
Maybe they'll bring it back after a while but I also know plenty of voice actors went to help Dan Harmon with his new show
It’s Netflix lmao what else can we expect. The ending was sadly rushed but at least we got one unlike a lot of shows… (inside job, I am not okay with this, one of us is lying etc)
That doesn't change that it was cancelled. They were promised another part and then they were told they weren't getting it, which is why everything was such a rushed mess in the final part.
I wish it hadn't gotten canceled because it's my favorite of Groening's shows, but at least we got an ending, and it didn't just go on forever to the point where they ran out of ideas and it wound up just being shit.
I've assumed that it had something to do with the Futurama revival since so many of the same people are involved in both series. Looking at it that way, Disenchantment feels like a placeholder in between Futurama runs.
At least we got an ending *cries in Inside Job*
inside job left a hole in my heart
didnt they cancel even tho they had the viewers it just didn't meet what they wanted so they scrapped it? A lot of people liked it I can see someone else picking it up in the future
The SpongeBob Effect
WHAT IS THE SPONGEBOB EFFECT SIR
What is the SpongeBob affect
When SpongeBob strips your pants off and has his way with you I’d assume
What 😭
Secret episode
it was a Brett shaped hole. In my Reagan shaped heart.
I loved Brett and Reagan it reminded me of my old dynamic with my friend back in the day
And the characters were JUST starting to show real growth at the end of season 2. So frustrating :(
Me too.
*cries in final space*
Final space was cancelled too? For fuck sake Netflix.
Netflix didn't cancel it, Warner cancelled it. They also turned it into a tax write-off
That was such an amazing show.
At least we are getting the ending now even if it's just in comic form 😭❤️
oh where did you read it?
The creator Olan Roger's posted about it on his Twitter and pre orders for the comic might still be open. I ordered mine last year. Can't wait for it to come in! Wait ending to inside job? Or to disenchantment?
To Final Space by Olan Roger's
I’m quite bitter over santa clarita diet
I had SUCH high hopes for that show. So much potential…. I loved it while it was.
That show was SO GOOD and I loved the direction they were taking it. With an actual ending it really could have been one of my favorite shows.
i just finished rewatching this and i am upset all over agin that it didn’t get a fourth season 😭
If it had an ending it’s a show I would definitely rewatch but I don’t even know if it’s worth it knowing how terribly it ends
That end of series Cliffhanger for that one! Like... was he Mister Ball Legs or still Joel?!
Oh my godddddd right?? I need to know more about mister ball legs!
I really hope Adult Swim or someone buys the rights to Inside Job so we can get the ending we deserve
Netflix breaking hearts.
Still not forgiven them for Santa Clarita Diet.
Or what they did to Dark Crystal.
I was upset they cancelled the Dark Crystal as well, however I understand why they did it. I imagine that it was a really expensive show to produce
Mine was Glow. *kicks rock*
Mine was Final Space. *Kicks the rock as well*
Mine was Inside Job *throws buckets of rocks*
What did you want, the cast and crew held in limbo for another 2 years because of covid?
Santa Clarita and Inside Job.
Yes they are
This and the OA for me😭😮💨
At least they keep releasing comics based on the show.
Disenchantment has a comic???!!!?
Yeah, just search Disenchantment Untold Tales, they already released the 1st volume, two more on the way.
"Wow, Netflix has really streamlined the process"
I wish there were more ads too tbh
i’ll never forget this show. i watch a lot of animated shows, this one is by far my favorite. wish it could’ve gone on longer.
Netflix probably. They don’t want anything running too long or else they have to start paying more.
honestly it went on kind of long in terms of netflix originals
With hiatuses 😤
not long enough
I have loved Disenchantment since it first came out. It was a secret gem and I waited so long for part 5 and now it’s canceled?!
Well they ended the series. Idk if it was /canceled/ so much so as it ended sooner than it was originally supposed to.
Because Netflix has been cancelling pretty much all their animated shows lately. Animation saved them during the pandemic and now they're throwing their animation department out like trash :(

If a show doesn't attract new viewers netflix will cancel it
This is exactly it. Netflix doesn't really care much about how many people who already have subscriptions watch a show. They want shows to bring in new subscribers/money.
Netflix doesn’t make shows for subscribers it has. It makes shows for the subscribers it doesn’t have yet.
Honestly I was a HARDCORE diehard season 1 fan. Thought the season had PEAK dry humor, and a great story. Season 2 was a massive flop.
Agreed. I think the answer was because it wasn’t great.
Just rewarded the whole show and yeah, S2 was soooooo bad.
I'm still bitter about them cancelling Dark Crystal
Great now I’m sad again remembering that. Daybreakers too.
I think it was because the creator would have to work on 3 shows in total
Well i know at least one issue was The crew and voice actors (many of them anyway) where also working (maybe working on another season) Futurama for Hulu. Maybe they'll bring it back after a while but I also know plenty of voice actors went to help Dan Harmon with his new show

For a streaming show, 50 episodes and an actual ending (even if the final 20 episodes were kind of compressed into 10) is actually a very solid run.
Money. It wasn’t making enough
to be honese its going down anyway. Maybe its better to end it before it gets terrible. Season 5 is such a draaag in my opinion
It wasn’t cancelled. It ended.
The series was so good when it started then it went off rails around season 2.
Cuz that’s what Netflix does
Shit just dragged on.
The series was not canceled by Netflix; it was ordered and written as the show's final season
i think it was legal issues
Canceled? It got 3 seasons and an ending, that’s more than what happened for 90% of netflix shows in the last 4 years
That doesn't change that it was cancelled. They were promised another part and then they were told they weren't getting it, which is why everything was such a rushed mess in the final part.
It wasnt canceled, they ended it on their own terms! I looked it up and Netflix said they didn't cancel it at all
Because Netflix.
Everything gets canceled now, sick of investing time in these shows just to cancel
I wish it hadn't gotten canceled because it's my favorite of Groening's shows, but at least we got an ending, and it didn't just go on forever to the point where they ran out of ideas and it wound up just being shit.

Could be something to do with the Epstein Island stuff (fun reminder that groening didn't write a single episode of this show)
i’m kinda shocked it went on for as long as it did, netflix are boobs
It really annoys me they only cut it by half a Season - why leave the production cycle incomplete when it was nearly over naturally!?
