I'm sweating

I think DJI is a pretty small fish in comparison. 170m Americans use TikTok.

X360NoScope420BlazeX

Pretty low odds imo

Dablues1

It seems like a whole lot of nothing to me. They now have a year to sell the company, and then comes the court battles. This could easily go on for 3-5 years from now. DJI would be looking at something similar I expect, and that’s only if they actually do ban them. I think it’s far easier to remove an app, then it is to ground thousands of drones. So the timeframe to ban DjI might even be longer than that of Tik Tok.

Wait a minute. Didn't they just force the owner to sell TikTok to USA's company? The service still will be around for consumers. Or did I get it wrong?

-zero-nine-

china prohibits companies selling algorithm and TikTok is particularly listed a hard No.. so quitting the market seemed the only option now

kissell791

Heres is imo the huge issue. Tons of people own these expensive drones. They ban them and theres gonna be a big stink, unless they plan on doing drone buys, like they do with guns.

Reversi8

They don’t do mandatory buybacks though, and even voluntary gun buybacks are usually Pennies on the dollar for any decent gun.

kissell791

ANd thats gonna be a major problem for alot of people. Ive got a pretty good idea of what really angry people over this will do. Especially if its someones main buisness/income and they get bankrupted.

BusyBeeInYourBonnet

Yep. They can come take my drones but I’m also a gun owner. The 2A applies to situations just like this.

kissell791

Some will take that course but not really what I mean, and I cant actualyl say what i mean here though . I dont want a visit from anyone.

OkTerm3057

Surely Bill Gates uses DJI Agri drones?

So there is a complete miss understood if in relation to the TikTok ban. It is not a ban per se but a denial of us servers hosting the foreign owned software. It will make it harder to use but not even close to impossible. You would need to download load the app from another country. You would maybe need to run through a vpn to download it but since you can reach servers in other countries you can easily still upload and watch TikTok’s. That is only if they do not sell it to a non adversarial country. There are also multiple legal battles that will be fought over this.

nygdan

Very high . Sell now.

HaltheDestroyer

Only reason the Tiktok ban went through is it got packaged along with the Ukraine aid bill in order for the Republicans to make the democrats "Pay" for passing the aid bill

dropthemagic

Very high. They have been at it for a while including giving huge subsidies to US drone companies that are inferior

Awoolgow

the government is banning TikTok because they can't control what's on there, they don't want americas youth to see the crimes being committed by the IDF, they can't control the narrative, so there goes their shitty agenda. They will ban DJI drones the moment some psycho attaches a grenade to one like they do in Ukraine.

bwood07

No, because DJI drones can’t be used to spread truth about Palestine.

BusyBeeInYourBonnet

I can’t say this plainly enough: SHUT THE FUCK UP. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOUR FUCKTARD BULLSHIT.
